why do the new sony walkman dont have noise canceling button?only X series have and are very expensive....is this one better than A818? as i have seen, A series are geting bat...and i tested S 544 and the sound was not that good and didnt bring ex fones....i dont know what to buy..only sound quality import me
Can you please please help me put videos on my sony NWZ -E44. I believe these two are very similer as my layout is nearly exactly the same exept I can't put videos from say youtube on it. Thanks.
Sorry -- I reviewed this item over a year ago and I simply don't have it any more to help anyone with a step-by-step. You should be able to use Windows Media Player 11, though. You'll have to download the YouTube videos first using a browser plugin or separate app, though. The Walkman is not going to do that on its own, I don't think.
is the volume loud? i knoe you can fix up the EQ's but I want to know if its loud. alot of my music are older recordings and isnt as loud as newer recordings.
@RRRICO : Yes, you can. I never use any special programme to move music files onto the Sony player. I just copy and paste the file/s to the explorer window of the player....works great for all my 3 Sony players (NWZ S638F, S616F and X1050). Sony makes wonderful media players of great quality, would never buy any other brand.
can you help me to change the languages setting because my language in my mp3 is japanese i cant read it..pls show the how to change the languages settings....
Sorry onin, this was just a loaner so I don't have the Walkman anymore. However, you can find them at Best Buys so you can maybe check one out there and find the spot on the menu that would change languages.
I don't believe you can just drag and drop to it as if it were a USB drive, but you can also sync to it with Windows Media Player -- that's not Sony :P

thanks, this review is awesome... i have a chance between ipod touch, or sony with noise cancelling, but this video is assured me about sony is the better choice... okay, touchscreen, wireless net, big video display, interesting flash menu, but i think the "music" abilities are more important than this snobbish apple shine. Thanks, from hungary.

thanks! As for the earphones -- it's been a little while, but I'm pretty darn sure you can use any 3.5mm earphones with the Walkman.
It's the Walkman's own noise cancelling earphones that you can't use with any other device because of a little nub that sticks out of the jack.

Videora is a free video converter that can download Youtube videos and format them into something the Walkman should be able to read (.mp4).
