theres a song by a 1970's solo-artist named Major Harris. This song is his number 1 hit "Love Won't Let Me Wait" and throughout al my life, i have listened to that song. No more than a months worth of days have gone by that i did not listen to that song. When i feel that i am falling under a hateful spirit i put it on. and when i hear the line "And Loves got me high" i instantly relax. Im reminded of that feeling when i listen to MLK. MLK- the voice of LOVE. NOT BLACK OR WHITES OR COLOR BUT LOVE
@sowhatbitch103 Its sad to hear and see! YOU make the comparison of a stupid song! As a gesture and a comparison of the fight and struggle of the African American within this country, and around the world.. Its UNCLE TOM buck dancing and denial of the oppressive truth is why?! NO CHANGE HAS COME ABOUT!! Love is a good thing, But under a fair and righteous society that's equal to all people.. God bless'
The song is not silly. neither is any song made in the seventies. I was offended when you told me that a gesture of love was not love. A song focused on love does not count as love? The word love seems like something you lack immensely because if I am not mistaken, all the LOVE songs from the seventies, especially black, expressed love in many different ways. The way whites and blacks came together for music is a part of his dream (people of race together for the love of music).
@godsword4u1 And the whole buck dancing thing, I don't know about that because...I honestly don't care. pretty sure no one does. Nobody does that...besides young people. But they're young so...what can you say? (rhetorical)
The original democrats were called "Democratic-Republicans", and later became 'democrats'. The Federalists then became known as Republicans. Just goes to show you...what's in a f**king name?
Of course, he was a Republican. That was the party of Abraham Lincoln. Are you delusional, that you have the temerity to compare the Republican party of 2011, to the Republican party of 1861? Are you really that devoid of historical perspective? Are you just stupid, or are serially manipulative? Good stuff Beulah. My kids have officially recognized hypocrisy, and what it looks like. Thanks!
" I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them, I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them." Isaiah 42:16
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand." John 10:27.28
What a unmeasurable loss for all humans in the world. A great man he is & a great loss he was. It is harder to be nonviolent towards an oppressor than is resorting to any means possible for revenge on that same oppressor. Your death Dr. King was not in vain for I am honored to continue in your foot steps. When Dr. King moved from civil rights to Human Rights is when he became to dangerous. They killed him and it has hurt poor whites as much if not more than blacks. May God bless the whole world

MLK was a REPUBLICAN!
It was the DEMOCRATS who tried to smear and kill him!
Just google this: "was MLK a republican"
Man, black folks today have been royally tricked and ripped off!
Republicans started and fought for ALL civil rights reforms for 100 YEARS before, and up to, MLK!!
MLK would be pissed today if he could see what the democrats have done and taken credit for.... yes.. somebody HAS told a lie today... the democrats!
