  • Shame on the people who voted yes on prop 8 and took away human rights! Because gays have the RIGHT to MARRY !!! YES for GAY MARRIAGES in California and the whole USA!

  • It is sad that this was voted on not once but twice and still they cannot accept it. I can't help but wonder if the roles were reversed and we protested for not getting our way what would have happened.

  • Its so sad to watch the losers of prop 8. riot. This example of hate is hard to watch. When so called human beings spread their bigotry and hate against races, religion and sexual orientation just because we voted yes on prop 8 and won. Why do you hate us so much?

  • Winkie, let it be known that I voted NO on this shit. lol

  • THANK YOU ERIKA! ;)

  • Stop that Bullshit Hate. No On 8.

  • all of you no on prop 8 people are immature, when little kids don't get what they want they kick and scream, you guys kick and scream just like little kids, and even worse you curse and fight and are violent to the ones that say yes on 8. you say we hate, loot at you, you hate us for not giving you what you want. its not a civil right. prop 8 pasted, deal with it like mature people.

  • These gay people arent yiolent to the guys that say yes on 8. Of course it's democratic, but to love the one you like and to marriage are in the human rights of california. You cant be against human rights just because more people want it.

  • SALT LAKE CITY - Utah's growing tourism industry and the star-studded Sundance Film Festival are being targeted for a boycott by bloggers, gay rights activists and others seeking to punish the Mormon church for its aggressive promotion of California's ban on gay marriage. It could be a heavy price to pay. Tourism brings in $6 billion a year to Utah, with world-class skiing, the spectacular red rock country and the film festival founded by Robert Redford among the state's popular tourist draws.

  • Being gay is NOT a choice. Anyone who thinks it is...IS NOT GAY, and therefore doesn't know what they are talking about. I can't choose my sexuality any more than I can choose my skin colour.

Here is a question: Do you choose to be straight? I don't think so. You just are.

I'm gay, I just am. I can't change it. So please let me get married to the one I love.

  • How is it then that many gays after years of being gay, even openly, have changed and gone straight? You don't have to choose to be straight because it is natural the pieces fit together and that is the way it was meant to be. Are you saying that people who have more than one sexual partner didn't choose that, or that people are born polygamists? Or that beastiality is not a choice? No one can choose the color of their skin but we all choose our behavior.

  • Whether your gay, straight or bisexual; in many individuals, sexuality is fluid throughout their lives. Either that, or they feel that they must suppress their "gay impulses" in order to mold and fit into societies standards (thus "becoming straight").

  • My husband had gay inclinations as a child because he was sexually abused by a male. But he chose to be straight. He is not living a lie and since that time has had no attraction to men and is very much attracted to women. I have other gay friends and I would strongly disagree it is a choice, maybe not a conscious choice but a choice.

  • Everyone is different, nothing is black and white, there are always areas of grey, especially when sexual abuse is involved. In such a case the subject is not "born gay" OR "choosing to be gay" it is forced upon them by exterior sources. All I know, is that I can choose to (more like force myself to)have heterosexual sex, but I cannot will myself to LIKE it. Therefore it's not a choice for me.

  • The actual act is of course, a choice (i.e. having gay sex or straight sex). However the emotions that come with both experiences are not controlable. I think we can both agree that we are not the boss of our emotions.

  • I strongly disagree with what you said about not being the boss of our emotions. We can not only control our emotions but change them. I have done so myself. There are many books written about changing our thought, feelings, emotions and behaviors. To say we cannot is a cop-out. People go from loving each other to hating each other all the time. And as I said before I know gay people who went straight emotions and all.

  • First: Why should I even HAVE to change my emotions, if they come naturally?

I am happy the way I am, how I believe I was born. All I want is to be able to marry the one I love, not change who I love. I don't care how many gay people have turned straight. I support people regardless of their sexual prefference, straight peeps included. I just have no desire to be one.

  • 2nd: My being gay does not effect you in any way. Not even politically because I am Canadian. Being gay is not a choice FOR ME. It may be for some people, everyone is different.

That's really all there is to say. There is so much variety in sexual identification that it is silly to argue the details. People are the way they are, whether by choice or not.

Why can't we all simply live peacefully, and let others do the same? Afterall aren't "The Americas" all about diversity? And equality?

  • I couldn't agree with you more.

  • They who make these rules do not understand anything about gays and lesbians. It is not a lifestyle. People don't just wake up one day and choose to be gay.

    EQUALITY FOR ALL!!

  • That's what I keep telling everyone! :]

  • STOP LYING. This isn't about peoples being it is about behavior. So should we let the Mormons have their polygamy now. We discriminated against them and stopped them when they were behaving incorrectly why wouldn't we do the same here. I think the pot is calling the kettle black here. Those against it are spreading more lies and distorting the issue more than those for it. Let's all try to be honest with ourselves and each other.

  • What kind of lies are being spread?

  • Spreading lies of that two people of the same sex can love one another just the SAME as of those between a man and a woman?

Then BIG FAT LIARS we are!

  • right on! lol

  • Are you saying homosexuality is genetic? How, then, would the gay community multiply? A gay newborn is impossible.

  • Homosexuality is not genetic. Maybe it is, who knows. And can you prove that it is impossible to have a gay newborn? I don't think so. Either way people have the right to be who they want to be. I see that someone said their husbands used to be gay and are not anymore. And they claim that their husbands are not living a lie. Yeah maybe, but how do you know? bisexuals exist. It's easy for straight people to say that gay is by choice,if You're NOT gay how do you knw?.

  • Can you prove that it is possible to have a gay newborn? Can you prove that Homosexuality is not nurtured vs. nature?

  • Can you?

i thought not, GTFO my interwebz pl0x.

  • The question is...CAN YOU!!! You cannot. so GTFO my interwebz pl0x

  • can you prove that it is? can you prove that you can be born gay?

  • maybe if we have the right equipments to study the brainwaves and activities in a newborn. Why do you need proof? Ask yourself, Were you born straight? why? it's natural right? so is the otherwise possible?

  • logic, can two men create a baby? can two women create a child? Our bodies were meant to pro-create. I don't need proof, your the one stating that "who's to say newborns cannot be gay". It's clearly a developmental thing. That is so far the argument. How can men turn gay afterbeing married sometimes? it's a developmental thing obviously. Supporters say "you just don't wake up one day and decide your gay"...why not? People do it all the time. Women lately, cause they've been treated bad by men.

  • 'We don't wake up one day and decide we're gay'

It is only by 'choice' from experience for some.

I, for one, have been in heterosexual relations in the past but like you said, women get treated bad by men. I didn't wake and say, I no longer have interest in men. Most men do not understand womens wants and/or needs therefore we seek another woman who can. Emotionally and sexually. If we do not connect or feel comfortable with the opposite sex, we need not to live a lie.

    Not I!

  • Sexual orientation is definitely not a choice. Homosexuality isn't a way of life that you could just alter as you like. It is a life, and people who support this proposition is against a life that they don't even understand or even want to try to understand.

  • If i were to run a research on gay/lesbian development, it should come with more than than one reason or logic. How can men turn gay after getting married? maybe they were already gay at the first place lol. and why not wake up one day and decide to be gay? can you do that? it's ridiculous. How can someone completely straight decides to be gay just cause her bf broke her heart the night before?

  • it happens

  • Totally agree. Bisexuals DO exist. I wonder if there could be a day in our lifetime where straight people can live a day of a gay persons life, what would they learn from it? What can they take from that experience and apply it to their own? Would they finally understand that we are not are not 'freaks' but we're just like everyone else with different desires? Who love another human being for who they are and/or have become? How hard could that be? Hard only to those who are very closed minded.

  • I'd like to know, IF if is possible, would you abort your child knowing that he or she is gay before he or she can even come into this world?

  • yea i'd love to know that too.

  • Please, stop comparing gay marriage with black civil rights. You gays have all the rights in the world. When blacks couldn't go to eat at many restaurants because the color of their skin, you gays could go to eat at whatever restaurant you wanted. That example among other things.

This is beyond. To say that your lifestyle it is equal to the blacks civil rights, no, no, forget it. Please don't be so ridiculous and don't continue insulting with that.

  • Ask James Baldwin or the many gay black men and women who have experienced both sides. They get discriminated by the White world and treated like shit by their own race. 75%+ blacks voted to ban gay marriage...Why? religion...

  • I don't think they're comparing it exactly to what they went through, but comparing it to the principle of the matter.

    Both were denied rights.

  • In Saudi Arabia people are killed, when they are gay.

  • says the guy hiding behind the monitor.

  • You forgot "death to the constitution!"

  • mv we dont want your love we deserve to have the same rights as loving couples as you do

People like you are such assholes

dont say you love me when you just took my marriage away

  • No one was hating when slavery was legal

No one was hating when 95% of the population said interracial marriage should be illegal

No one was hating when blacks were beat for wanting to sit on a bus or drink from a fountain

No one was hating when women weren't allowed to vote

How can you possibly say you don't hate gays when you are taking away their rights. The ballot even said it "DENIES gays the RIGHT to get married" yet you don't hate them you self righteous biggot.

  • U love us? then stop referencing the bible dammit.

  • Plain and simple? Other than the bible or whatever other religious script you may have faith in, where does it say that marriage should be between a man and a woman?

I hope you can answer my question cuz other than the bible, I don't know where you're getting your information from.

Last time I checked, the constitution states that state and religion should not be mixed, and that all men are created equal.

So please relieve me of my ignorance by answering my question or reveal your stupidity

  • "Plain and simple? Other than the bible or whatever other religious script you may have faith in, where does it say that marriage should be between a man and a woman?"

Well as of a couple days ago it now says it in the constitution of the state of California. Whether or not you agree with the law it's still the law. I'm not a religious person and I supported Prop 8 so there goes your church and state argument. We are created equal and therefore you still have the right to marry the opposite sex

  • i can't belive that gay marriage got banned, again, and in California-out of all places!

    i'm So Sorry ((

  • EQUALITY FOR ALL!!!

  • I can see myself walking !!!! lol!!! that was the best day of my life. We can do we will do and we wont give up.

  • hehe :D
