Well actually long story short I was unable to get the 2 more GB of RAM and the second 8800GT but I managed to run it on Very High (No AA) with around 30-40 FPS.

WTF are you talking about, it takes 4 9800GTX to run 50fps- no it does. 8800GT's in SLI will get over 50FPS on Ultra High- Look at the 9800GX2- it gets like 54fps in the Crysis Benchmark and 8800GT in SLI are faster than the GX2. Specially the SuperClocked versions like i have which is paired with a Core 2 Quad 3.6GHZ and 4GB OCZ HPC Memory.

XP can generally make it by with 2GB of ram, Vista needs those 4GB to make the most of recent games, and Windows 7 (according to benchmarks so far) will probably play pretty well with 2GB like XP (baring other ram intensive operations)

Might want to Overclock the Q6600 a bit though, at stock speeds you will see some bottlenecking in Crysis. 2.8 or more should be great.

Have you noticed that the storyline plays so similarly to the first Halo game? You're fighting this enemy (Koreans, Covenant) on a uncharted and secluded place (Island, Halo). But then these mysterious and extremly aggressive life forms show up (Crysis Aliens, The Flood) and I don't know if the island gets destroyed like Halo but that's what I've heard. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sucks.. I'm running this game just fine on XP with the Ultra High Crysis settings tweak on 1280x1024 resolution using:

GeForce 8800GT 512mb

2GB 800Mhz ram

2.33Ghz Intel Core2Duo

all of these components were pretty cheap off of NewEgg and I found it more than enough to play Crysis with the exception of anti-aliasing :)

for me there are only 8 series of videocards that are worth money. 8800, GTX260, GTX280, 4859, 4870, 4850X2, 4870x2, 3870 and 3870x2. id never buy any other card then the ones i mentioned, cuz they've proved them selves as best. 9600, and 9800 are just cheap ass over\underclocked versions of 8800. in fact i just looked at the Specifications of 96oo and it seems that its half less powerful than 8800GT!

600w 500W you should be fine, i would recommend a corsair a bit expensive but it is worth it and i would also recommend modular as it keeps it nice and tidy (if you have a see thru case that is.

well, if you run the game in 800 x 600 you can get about 35-40+ fps if you have it further say like 1024x768 you get just under 30fps, this is on vista 64bit. i heard there are lots of optimizers for the game ? ive seen one where you can make a 8600GTS run the game on very high with over 30fps but i forgot where i saw it, sorry for late reply my internet has been down.

Nah, AGP still has it depending on the processor. There are some 775 and amd AGP boards. They also make HD3870 for the AGP slot and it runs crysis fine on high, but a single 3870 pci-e or agp just isn't enough for all setting very high.

hi, sorry for the slow reply, ok the specs you have there, i would recommend 2/4GB of ram, OC your processer and do the XP DX10 tweak (its not a hack) and you will be set for high and very high specs. (the guy who said very min on those specs is a complete noob and he knows nothing.

its not hard, copy the top set of graphic options to the bottom one, should say Default 4, and copy and paste that to (3)high, (2) med, (1)low, thats for the dx10 in XP, or just edit what you want like motion blur and so on. just google it i guess.
