The new changes made to the Star Wars films for their Blu-Ray release are unnecessary. Ever since the Special Edition versions came out in 1997 it looks like everytime these films come to a new Home Video format, there are always changes made.

I do know that the Picture & Sound Quality of the Star Wars films on Blu-Ray is fantastic, but they are not perfect. Lucasfilm used the 2004 HD Transfers for the Original Trilogy'd DVD Release, they did improve them, but they could have done better.

Blu-Ray or not, Star Wars does not deserve to be altered with every re-release.

I don't know about the remake of "Point Break", I don't think you can top a cast that included Keanu Reeves, the late Patrick Swayzee, and Gary Busey. I did hear the story was different, which is good for me, at least there not going the "Psycho" remake route.

I was slightly disappointed we didn't get to see more of the gangs that were introduced, and that there was essentially no back story to any of them. Even the warriors themselves had little depth. But for 1979, I don't know what more I could have wanted.

Are you aware of the STAR WARS Revisited series? They're fan-edits done by this dude called Adywan and he basically takes The Special Editions - removes the crap (fixes continuity issues, lightsaber colors and other stuff) and turns them into the real masterpieces. Check this dude out on YouTube, I think he goes by the name of AdywanUK or something like that.

You just HAVE to see what he did with A New Hope.

@KelanDWood Yeah, but, unfortunately, An Original/Unaltered Version of the OT does not exist. All we got was a crappy bonus disc on the 2004 DVD box-set, but those versions look like a DVDRip and has a disgusting, blue tint covering. Check out Adywan's version. He doesn't alter those films for worst - he removes George's unnecessary "additions" and fixes some things that should not have been there in the first place. It's the best version of Star Wars you will ever get to see.
