  • Thank you so much helped alot

  • Kinda looks like he could be Deadmau5 brother the way he looks

  • easiest sound i find to cut is ahhhhhhhhhhh. its great to learn beginner cuts being that its a nice long sample, and for advanced cuts like crabs and orbits it gives you plenty of room to move slow at first and exaggerate the movements to get the mechanics down. pick up a copy of the dj qbert record super seal it has a whole side with great samples on it. the one i learned on was 1,000 mph back sliding turkey cuts.

  • something called hip hop!

  • This guy is good at scratching. The Public Enemy scratch was pretty good.

  • helpful, nice 1

  • from ur info box " good to ask for the ahh this is fresh sample and the whistle." wat do u mean the whistle ?

  • Yeah, you're right dude with this acapella and instrumentals stuff, but still...Superseal vinyls designed by Q-Bert are the best for scratching;)

  • what was that Flava Flav acapella track

  • Bring the Noise

  • i sort of agree with you but qbert is the king dj starscream is the god

  • And Joe Hahn is Universe

  • YEs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Joe hahn uses too much effects

  • yet again awesome vid (Y)

  • Awesome!

  • yet again another top video lovin ur stuff

  • hahah he explains hip hop. it's good though, i'm actually learning from some of your stuff, just tips here and there! thanks for the videos, man!

  • something called hip hop =)))

  • first impression: i love your british accent.

  • i agree

  • your a good teacher. you made me feel smart because i knew everything you were saying. but if i didn't know much on the topic, then i would have learned easily.

  • Nevermind lol

  • Whats the name of the song played from the cd player

  • dirty vegas-days go by

  • Very good tutorial. By the way what is the best cartridge and needles for scratching. i have the M44-7 but im not happy with the sound.

    thanks again

  • Too many talking ;) Nice tutorial

  • I'm so glad he breaks it down. Taking bass out takes away the thump sound you get when your hand hits the record. Really like how he tells the parts that other DJ's don't tell. The behind the scenes stuff.

  • Dude do u get payed to do this?? u should ur tutorials are a blessing

  • any body know what the second vinyl was?

  • Dirty Vegas - Days Go By

    and

    Livin' Joy - Dreamer

would be the 2nd cut if I was going to guess.

  • Sounded a bit Like Bring the Noise tbh. Though I expect that was sampling.

  • Hey ,nice vid by the way, I'm looking to get into Dj scratching and I was wondering where everyone gets their vinyl records I've tried to google it but couldn't find anything helpful. By vinyls I mean the straight music and voice vinyls like in this video I can find regular vinyls but I don't know where to get DJ vinyls. Can someone please help me out?

  • legend

    love the vids

  • Thanks heeps man, taking the bass out made huge diff, can u explain a lil more on the volumes and cross fader you flick ever so fast, would love a demo video show how and WHEn to use the cross fader and volumes!

    cheers - Dj mooski

  • Thank you for the lesson. It's people like this who make YouTube as great as it is.

  • never scratch to house please you should know this you mite acctully improve

  • "HIP HOP IS FON-TASTIC!" I'm gonna sample that!!!

  • you are a geenious thank you for do this

    i'm learning so mutch

  • Dude, your quality, learned so much from you

  • Wack!!

  • tell 'em we can do this - yeah boooy! that's in a hardcore song xD

  • ah, thats one of my favorite house tracks all time you just scratched over :) dirty vegas - without you

  • sorry, "Days go by" that is

  • great vid thanks!

  • which are the name of the tracks/tunes? thanks

  • pls

  • yeah bwoiiiiiii public in yer face. nice vid dude. and yes respect to qbert but dont forget mix master mike.

  • goood stuff arecon am gettin better @ scratchin but hav onli got belt drives. eventually will get directs soo hopefully will learn new scratches

  • nice video!

  • what u mean? You can choose 3 options, u can use it as a notmal jog, or as a turntable and use it for the sample mode. The other one is S5000, its belt driven

  • I got the s5000!! had em for about a yr now.

    my fav <3

  • The reson i chose S3500 is that i dont like belt driven motors, also its a newer product so its maybe a better setup.

  • I am so happy to see that you still love youre turntables, youre so good at scratching wow, like before I didnt really like scratching now I do! I saw that you were keeping the music and the record apprx. at the same speed when scratching, is this neccesarry?

  • u are really good at scratching man

dont pull ya sen down dude

    nice one j

  • yeahhh booooyyeeeeee!

  • Im geting some Denon S3500 this week or next, maybe i shall do some movies to show effects and stuff, those cdj are very special cdj. The jog is actually moving like a normal turntable, they even got direct drive motors;)

  • I actually learned something from this video and also from all the others you´ve done. thank you for all the help you give us.

  • thanks! :o

  • Wow, way cool, John- by the way you have gotten alot better; Marked improvment for sure! How does an FX unit work, if one does not have any fx built in to their system?

  • Nice 1. Learnt alot...when are you back on phatbeats agian. Cheers.
