i caught a 15 pounder yesterday on lighter tackle than that grouper outfit dude was using here...at first i thought it was a big snook, when he hit it, it splashed at the surface like one, but didn't jump the rest of the time..made me nervous when he swam for the spot where a monster snook broke me off a few nights earlier and it took about 10 minutes to wear him out...i never fish for jack, i only fish for snook and tarpon..but i also catch jack, sharks and barracuda, they all hang together

Was fishing with my dad a few years back - and I think a jack fish hit our line...

We were catching trout/reds just out the coast of Louisiana... And every now and then a fish would hit and I'd watch the line zig zag through the water every time.

Couldn't get one in...

I hooked one of these one time. It was probably my 2nd or 3rd time fishing with my boyfriend at the time. When I finally had it close enough to to boat, my boyfriend leaned over and looked at it and said, "Yeah, its a Jack". And then he broke the line!
