  • Best tennis player, best pure athlete (sorry Serena fans) and a class act.

  • A great combination of class, beautiful tennis and heart. Steffi will always be the greatest for me. Thanks for the video.

  • The BEST Evaaaaa. So classy.

  • The Queen of Tennis, for me, period !

Such amazing talent, subtle and powerful at the same time... And she was - and still is - such an endearing person. Thank you for everything, Steffi !

  • HEY STEFFI WILL YOU MARRY ME?

  • The Greatest Woman Player Ever Born! Class act!

  • The greatest player I have had the honour to watch, having followed tennis since 1984. Followed her whole career, no one ever played with as much concentration, professionalism and heart for so long. A few players could stay with her for a certain amount of time but then ran out of steam. I was luckily at Wimbledon for the '96 final. Also saw her on the old Court 2 with John McEnroe in '99.

There never was and never will be another like her. A class act all the way and a true original.

  • I think you've done a wonderful job with this video. You picked the perfect soundtrack, too, because Graf always let her tennis and professionalism do the talking. Her tennis spoke volumes. Well done! Great shot choices, too. Are you a professional editor?

  • She's like a Germanic goddess of Hunting & War. All we need to do is stand in awe, and oooh and woaaah and between the points, applaud. :-)

  • It was her astonishing balance that gave such grace to her tennis. Always a joy to watch, like Federer.

  • Steffi is the best tennis player ever! you below who said she is a robot!! what are you thinking! just because she didn't scream and shout on court doesn't mean she was a robot! she just came on court and got on with it! and actually she won 8 slams after monica was stabbed! and beat her twice at the US open! Steffi is the best tennis player ever period!

  • Steffi had most of her Grand Slams b4 Monica was stabbed. She had more desire to play than any other female player in the last 27 years. There have been palyers just as good as her but they all have not had the desire or will to play like Steffi. Steffi won the Grand Slam and the gold in the olympics in one year. The only person to do that.

  • Steffi, human?? Please. She was an emotionless robot on the court and the most boring, uninteresting player of all time. Perhaps if one of her lunatic fans hadn't brutally stabbed her main rival I would like Steffi more or even appreciate her, but I don't....

  • always the best

  • she is a rare specimen. a women's GOAT, and yet she was so hot as hell at the time too. it was amazing. people who lived to see her in that era was hella lucky.

  • Steffi is a Goddess. I still have a huge crush on her.

  • awesome video!! thanks for making this :)

  • Fantastic tribute to the absolute Queen of Tennis, thank you a LOT for sharing this beautiful video ! Steffi was and will always be a true miracle : such an amazingly mix of talent and humility, introvert but warm, so fair-play and with so much class - in every possible ways... All these images bring back so many memories from all these marvellous years : a true delight. Many thanks for sharing your work - obviously a work of love - with us ! ^_^

  • amazing Steffi!

  • One of the rarest shots in Steffi's armoury at 3:09 - the top-spin backhand...Fabulous player and true champion.

  • Great Video. I miss you Steffi

  • Such a great player, the Greatest of all time amongst men and women. No other champion had the spirit, footwork and forehand like Graf. She was the reason I got into tennis in 1986 & why I have followed, watched, played & attended ever since.

But I think dasglasperlenspiel10 puts it far better than I have. Great times and memories. Thanks to TheForehand for posting this montage,

    Michael.

  • This was fantastic!

  • very cool

  • Women's tennis clearly dipped to big lows after Graf retired in 99. Notice how when she came back in 98/99 the tour was great again and many people followed it with Graf's coming back as well as the other veterans still playing. The tour's modes and appeal seemed to follow Graf and her colleagues whenever she/they would be playing or not.

  • am the great fan of graf beauty

  • Someone reposted this, and I hadn't seen it before - so I'll say here what I said there: This was awesome!

  • First game i watched was of Steffi and i became a great fan of her and when she retired i stopped watching Tennis..nearly finishing Aggasi's biography and must admit it is a really good one and the way he talk abt his wife makes you cry hope they remain happy together

  • She had the fastest first step I've ever seen. And the fastest recovery time, seamless between hitting a stroke and recovering. Qualified as for as time for the '88 Olympics in the 800 meter, it's a shame it wasn't worked out for her to run. She wanted to.Heard her 400meter was good too.The great athletes,in my short list,Graf, Borg, and now Nadal, would have been the best in any sport they chose. She once said she chose tennis cause she couldn't see herself just running in circles for her career

  • Hahaha. Did she really qualify for the 800???

  • I agree with comment below, I also lost interest when steffi retired, I still miss her now! she was just the best!

  • the best video showin steffi graf's happy side :)

  • Tennis game is lame since Steffi Graf retired...she was the pure scent of the game and the greatest tennis player ever! I remember the first time that I ever cried over a sport game: French Open '89 vs Sanchez Vicario Graf served for the match at 53 in the third set but lost the game at love and won only three more points in the match...I really though she was gonna come back after serving for the match!

  • @C1a55icOm3ga I cried that day too... she could have won all the Grand Slams in 1989 like in 1988... :( you're right about tennis today I lost all my interest since Steffi retirement

  • how i miss yelling at the tv at 2 in the morning.".You Can do it Steffi!!" Shame all good things come to an end.. Thanks to TheForehand dont let us forget!! Ps Andre's bio book is excellent..Steffi had no chance :-)

  • The best woman that ever played the game and not to mention the most consistent of them all.

    I agree with dasglasperlenspiel10.

Hail Steffi !!!! the queen of Slams :)

  • . What a unique combination Steffi was during her long reign: quiet-spoken and introverted but never daunted by the crowds or the big matches, absolutely beautiful but never playing up that side of her attraction, an athlete's athlete, but with a deeper side. The toss was much too high, the big forehand was hit late, we could wait months for a topspin backhand (almost always a winner when she unfurled one). But those legs! The court sense! Most of all, the heart and the concentration!

  • the best forever

  • @egg1080

    definitely so

  • @egg1080 No question About that!!

  • she has never been much of a talker :))

  • Great job! Thanks for sharing Steffi's wonderful moments with us. I can still recall each and every of those shots :) boy, do we miss her...

  • We do miss her but I think Tennis misses her even more!

  • we miss you steffi pls come back!

  • She is just the best ever.

  • hope she played again even if she didn't win a slam as long as she played. i miss her high serve, slice backhand and powerful forehand. she's incomparable and the greatest ever in women's tennis.

  • Steffi is the greatest!

  • lovely :)

  • thanx 4 uploading!!! damn i miss her

  • Excellent Video...

    Steffi, the best ever.
