he always held the scales, he was always on my side if if he didint know it he was with me, kings, the rider who held the scales he took a bullet for me. I love my boys the horsemen.
I CAME UP ON TWO COPIES OF THIS BRAND NEW ABOUT A YEAR AGO..ME AND GIRL WERE BROKE UP THEY WERE TOOK FROM HER HOME.'' TO THIS DAY I THINK SHE WAS SUSPECT..IF I FIND OUT SHE DID HER ASS IS FUCKIN GONE!!!!BITCH DONT FUCK WITH MY WAX..
this is my favorite song and he used to come to patchogue group home back in the days and seen him again dj out in bellport. We was chilling and in the mall fortgreene peace
All I know is, that for a good 3 years, THIS song was the undisputed #1 crowd-motivator at parties. It was almost like cheating for DJ's to fill the dancefloor. - I remember seeing this one dude outside of a party - passed-out drunk - suddenly spring up the second the DJ dropped this beat, and try to fight his boys (and security) to get back inside. He said, "Naaah B, you don't understand! That's my joint god, lemme in! ...I GOTTA dance to it!!!"
Check out the Steve Miller Band - Fly Like an Eagle!! That's where Marley Marl got that sample from!!! Brillant wasn't it!! Marley was just ahead of his time with sampling!!
@Sinosure Steve Miller is the start of this. Then, add in a healthy dose of Marley Marl and Biz Markie, and you have ONE great Hip Hop Jam- Respect the architechs, right?
@camoflaugetampex really? ya he always seemed a little touched, just slightly but not enough to stop him from being so god damn dope,, that interesting you said that, its like people think it and stuff but i never heard someone else bring that up, just cause its Biz and erbody love Biz
@geester8899 nah they took the same sample, if RBL sampled from Biz how come RBLs sample is longer and completely smooth and no backround sound, since this was before G's, they must have sampled the same sample.
I went to school with Biz , he was crazy in high school but real kool , I'm white but sat at lunch with the black / hispanic crew because we were all into break dancing, I remember him beatboxing all the time , he was loud without a mic.
brings me back when i used to get the marley mal mix tapes. it was a big thing to me because i live in austin, texas and mix tapes were a big thing in 1984.
Biz Markie is now on Tour with Salt n Pepa, Kurtis Blow & Whodini! Support real hip hop when they come to your town. I will be there. Will you? Legends of Hip hop Tour
@fahgod- I have to agree with you, everyone loved/loves Biz. I use to see this cat when I was younger on the Ave in the Coliseum with his ppl.Clowning on each other and probably other ppl walking around lol. Just seems like a good dude.
"just here to let you know whos like runnin the place, and everywhere i perform and do a show...as long as you know"...who else said that line? its in the back of my mind and is eating me inside!
No doubt this shit still rocks...one thing 'bout today's hip hop (or should I say "rap"), it really makes U appreciate the jams that was back in the late 70s/entire 80s/a great deal of 90s!!! Word up...
Biz Markie was one of the rappers out the NYC-area in 1980's that was considered "All-Borough." Though he was mostly rooted in Long Island, Biz was literally seen hanging everywhere in New York City. The amount of times I saw him hanging out downtown Brooklyn was numerous, and then yet Biz would feel equally at home on Jamaica Avenue in Queens the next day, Fordham Road in the Bronx the next day, chillin in front of the Apollo Theater in Harlem the next day. Biz was truly 'All-city" and loved.
@fahgod Certain people like Flavor Flav, Biz Markie etc...generally just get love! You know they're retarded but they never hurt nobody and had mad swag! lol
I thank god I was around to listening to hip-hop during this era.Whats ill is Biz could drop this today and still rock a party. Not to down play whats out now,it was just so dope back then.
Innovation was the law during this era of hip-hop. It still is. The issue is that artists lack the courage to innovate because they adopt a "formula" to satisfy record labels instead of pushing the culture and art form forward.

@AngusYoung48 i beg to differ... all the real emcees don't get signed because they can't be controlled by the label execs. Real emcees push the envelope and know what their fan base likes... that's who they cater to... radio stations play what the execs WANT them to play or they don't get paid... it's that simple. e had dance tracks back in the day but nothing like this bubblegum crap that's out today... lyricism was still a must back then.
