  • MPARE!

  • f...in hard

  • All I know is, that for a good 3 years, THIS song was the undisputed #1 crowd-motivator at parties. It was almost like cheating for DJ's to fill the dancefloor. - I remember seeing this one dude outside of a party - passed-out drunk - suddenly spring up the second the DJ dropped this beat, and try to fight his boys (and security) to get back inside. He said, "Naaah B, you don't understand! That's my joint god, lemme in! ...I GOTTA dance to it!!!"

  • @DblJinx Word, I seen plenty people, male and female, lose it to this, and pack the dancefloor!!!

  • @jruperro I'm not surprised, its FUNKY as hell..=-)

  • @DblJinx thats a siiik story, got any more?

i love learnin from people who were actually around at the times my favourite songs were released

  • Check out the Steve Miller Band - Fly Like an Eagle!! That's where Marley Marl got that sample from!!! Brillant wasn't it!! Marley was just ahead of his time with sampling!!

  • @Sinosure Steve Miller is the start of this. Then, add in a healthy dose of Marley Marl and Biz Markie, and you have ONE great Hip Hop Jam- Respect the architechs, right?

  • i think he sampled from R.B.L Posse - Gs By The 1 2 3s

  • @NecKClippA Man Please they samples Biz this is 1988

  • @geester8899 nah they took the same sample, if RBL sampled from Biz how come RBLs sample is longer and completely smooth and no backround sound, since this was before G's, they must have sampled the same sample.

  • dam thats a helluva beat

  • I went to school with Biz , he was crazy in high school but real kool , I'm white but sat at lunch with the black / hispanic crew because we were all into break dancing, I remember him beatboxing all the time , he was loud without a mic.

  • @HotYamaha I envy u like letters in the alphabet

  • Steve Miller Band has alot of there songs as samples during this time!! biz, e.p.m.d the list goes on and on!!!

  • remember old skool rules, this takes me back in the days.

  • I saw Biz perform this live @ a club on Webster ave in the Bronx called the Devils Nest!!!!!

  • @evck63 The nest was a good down low spot to hit. Then go to White Castles

  • THE FLAMBOYANT GAME PROMO

  • "just here to let you know whos like runnin the place, and everywhere i perform and do a show...as long as you know"...who else said that line? its in the back of my mind and is eating me inside!

  • Comment removed

  • No doubt this shit still rocks...one thing 'bout today's hip hop (or should I say "rap"), it really makes U appreciate the jams that was back in the late 70s/entire 80s/a great deal of 90s!!! Word up...

  • This still knocks

  • Biz Markie was one of the rappers out the NYC-area in 1980's that was considered "All-Borough." Though he was mostly rooted in Long Island, Biz was literally seen hanging everywhere in New York City. The amount of times I saw him hanging out downtown Brooklyn was numerous, and then yet Biz would feel equally at home on Jamaica Avenue in Queens the next day, Fordham Road in the Bronx the next day, chillin in front of the Apollo Theater in Harlem the next day. Biz was truly 'All-city" and loved.

  • @fahgod ha you for got about how , Hay,he also rocks Philly count less of times !

  • @fahgod still is......he can be seen DJing certain functions nowadays. Nick Cannon does DJing, too. Nick suprised me with that.

  • @fahgod Certain people like Flavor Flav, Biz Markie etc...generally just get love! You know they're retarded but they never hurt nobody and had mad swag! lol

  • @fahgod Da spirit and mentality of a true New Yorka. It aint where ya from, it's where.............. ?

  • Hurry up and get the Wic-Check out the mail.

  • This song had Ruff Necks singin',TJ Swan's part "Nobody beats the Bizzzz" and "DO-DO DOODLE" back in the day.

  • @jermson Back then they called us "Hard Rocks" instead of Ruff Necks - RLOL! I love it - the way it was back in tha day.

  • @theosaka69 THAT'S RIGHT!!! "Ruff Necks" came like 4yrs after "Hard Rocks."

    Good lookin out.

  • Marley Marl is da man!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I thank god I was around to listening to hip-hop during this era.Whats ill is Biz could drop this today and still rock a party. Not to down play whats out now,it was just so dope back then.

  • damn i'm old enuff to remember when this dropped :( love the biz tho :)

  • Mister Dynamite!

  • All yall old ass catz on here just mad yall old and want it to be the 80's again, but this shit is hot tho lol

  • 3 people think they can beat the biz

  • The production is ahead of its time.

  • I know nobody that beats the BIZ.......A TRUE PIONEER!!

  • i always liked how roxanne shante's voice sounded in the beginning of this, raspy & sassy

  • 3 people think they can beat the biz.

  • @frankylovesyall yep, that fuckin' wannabe.

  • one word DOPE

  • lets go nobody beats the biz

  • 3 souljaboy fags clicked dislike--

  • one of the doepst LPs to ever drop...Cold chillin...respect due

  • At the last part of this jam, Biz is beat boxing. Fantastic.

  • I was born in 71 so in the 80's I have to say I was raised with kool moe dee, kurtis blow and biz. I have to say the Biz is king!

  • Innovation was the law during this era of hip-hop. It still is. The issue is that artists lack the courage to innovate because they adopt a "formula" to satisfy record labels instead of pushing the culture and art form forward.

I even know the sample origin. The Steve Miller Band's "Fly Like an Eagle"

  • one of my top 3 favorite ole sckool hip hop songs... Biz reppin' for Brentwood, NY... "make the music with your mouth biz"

  • Yes!

  • There's no more MC's today.

  • @AngusYoung48 i beg to differ... all the real emcees don't get signed because they can't be controlled by the label execs. Real emcees push the envelope and know what their fan base likes... that's who they cater to... radio stations play what the execs WANT them to play or they don't get paid... it's that simple. e had dance tracks back in the day but nothing like this bubblegum crap that's out today... lyricism was still a must back then.

  • nobody beats the wiz

  • good ol' daiz
