  • Somewhere there's a photo of the field, with me next to a Stinson 108-A, and another of a Ford Tri-Motor alongside one of the large hangars. Where those particular photos are, I have no idea - my folks (RIP) collected all that stuff, and I don't believe anyone's been interested in going throught them. dj

  • I started flying out of the old Clarkston field in 1961 (I was only 16) - it was a grass/gravel strip - long gone now.

  • @willabyCHS

Very cool! You wouldn't happen to have any photos of it would you?

  • Nice video. I was home for a visit to Lewiston in October last year. First time I'd flown out of Lewiston since 1990, via Seattle and on to Montana where I now live. I worked in the restaurant that used to be upstairs in the terminal building there at the Lewiston/Nezperce County Airport back in the early 1980's.

  • @pacnorthwesterner

Thank you. I am glad you liked it. It was a fun flight down there. I need to make that flight again. When we were there we actually went upstairs to the restaurant and had a Coke before heading back to Spokane. Nice restaurant.

  • lol it's such a trip being in the Lewiston airport, it's got TWO GATES!! haha. When I was a kid growing up there I think we actually convinced ourselves that "Lewiston is pretty big... yeah..."

  • Lewiston is THE SHIT

  • Nice video I live in lewiston question do you think lewiston is small for a city in Idaho I mean I live in the orchards and it takes us 40 minuets a lot to just get to Clarkston but that explains all the traffic these days still wut do u think?

  • Thank you.

I live in Spokane. Lewiston is a little smaller than Spokane but I don't think Lewiston is small for a city in Idaho. It's a nice town with a lot of great places to visit. I really like the airport. Flying into Lewiston is a lot of fun because of the descent down to the river.

    Thanks for watching my video.

  • Yea my brother was an instructor for 5 years and is now a Captain for Continental based out of Houston. I received my CPL through him and interstate aviation. Hard landing.

  • Oh well in that case I guess since your brother is a Captain for Continental based out of Houston and you have your CPL then you are an expert at judging landings on Youtube.

But you're not a CFI? You would think at how much of an expert you are that you would be a CFI. Or maybe a CFII. Oh well, please go ahead and play Monday Morning Quarterback all you would like.

  • you are retarded , if it takes you 40 minutes to get to Lewiston , you must be confused and live in Lapwai. That or you just not a good at driving and probably drive like most of the people in this Valley. Hard landing btw.

  • Hard landing huh? I'm sorry I must have missed your flying videos. You must be an excellent pilot to be judging other pilots like that.

As for the rest of your comment I will just let everyone who reads what you wrote judge your character and intellect.

  • glad you had a nice visit here, and then went home.

  • Thanks. Lewiston has a nice little restaurant in the terminal. Great place to have a $100 hamburger.

  • Thanks PJ. Good to here from you. You need to get back up here so we can go flying.

  • Hey Jim,

Glad to see you're still flying and that 036 is still on the line! Hope all is well with you!

  • Hey Lefty! So he actually let you touch the controls this time? J/K... cool vid!

  • It's not like he didn't want to grab the controls from me. ;)

Thanks. Weather permitting I'll be heading up to Sandpoint tomorrow to take my mother for a flight. I think we are going to do some sight seeing around Priest Lake. I might even attempt a landing at Priest River if they have extra runway on the left side.

  • great video....i subscribed to your channel by the way. I see your out of Idaho...thats beautiful land! Im sadly out of Van Nuys CA and the air quality is not quite that nice...

  • Thanks. I actually live in Spokane which is on the Idaho/Washington Border. Our air quality is good right now but when fire season kicks in the visibility will definitely go down.
