Trian, of course we don't abandon a military defense! Cutting back on our monstrously bloated war budget (off of which many people are making ALOT of money from no contract bids and now oil rights to Iraq's oil) would give healthcare, education, food to our citizens and start the process of providing jobs to stop wars - jobsforafghans (dot) org, for starters.

This is not news. Our last several Presidents have been war presidents. We need to pull out of the east, but being a war president is something Obama cannot help. War is a fact of the times. Freedom must be protected with a shield of swords. Invading is wrong however. Though I will admit that Pakistan needs help. If the Taliban get their hands on nukes we will be in apocalyptic trouble.
