  • We had Encyclopedia Britannica's in our home lol. It's funny to see this commercial now. The mom said, "Look it up dear". Now she would probably say, "Google it dear".

  • @apachette07 what it didn't tell you was that it was a $1000 (1980's dollars) set!! Keep in mind, this was pre-internet, so you really had to look it up in a book.

  • @pika62221 I know. Those were the days lol.

  • an 89 grand am for $9499???? sold!

  • or he could use the computer

  • Nice spoof on the 20th C.-Fox logo by AVIS!

  • Wow it seems like there was alot of emotions in commericals back then. Funny how in 2008 now we only have commercials telling us to take pills to surpress all of our emotions. its realy scary

  • @hellspit2003 I see you wrote this a year ago.... but absolutlely right... There was emotion in Music, movies, TV shows, even commercials... also they were uplifting... now it's pills, animal sex and emtional destruction... what happened to us..

  • It just ain't the 1980s without the Yamaha DX7 FM rhodes piano...

  • Haha, I remember that Britannica commercial very well! They used to play it quite often. Thanks for the post.

  • who the hell is nanci griffith?

  • Yes, but do you know how people drive rental cars? I had a buddy of mine lock up the brakes, and hit two road signs before it was all over. He paid the $90 deductible and forgot all about it.

  • if only you could buy new cars for 8499 now-a-days.
