@havaneezer - The bench is called a ramp. It can be used at the judge's discretion. At national specialties, kees people prefer the ramp be used because you can see the dog better and everyone is at the same angle for presentation. It also makes for a better video for future reviews of the breed. Thank you for asking the question. :)
Hi, yes am aware of AKCs income streams. As dog fanciers, we have been trying to address this problem. Unfortunately, PETA + other animal rights groups have much more $ behind their endeavors than the hobbyist/show/breeder person + our groups, so it is a losing battle. The public loves stars + that aspect is what is really hurting people that try to do things the right way. We are working with AKC. We were able to squash the HUNT relationship. Ongoing, we need much more $ to continue the battle.
Are they always shown on a bench? or is it just what is available?
