Turns out it had a cracked head. Who would have known? It will be back on the road in a few days with a garrett turbo, weight reduction and a custom computer. Can't wait!
@anonislegions And open 3" downpipe/swingvalve. An old bolt that connects the swingvalve to the turbo housing broke off inside the turbo and set me back a little. Fuuuuuck everything went great up until now.
Interior weight reduction shaved 175 lbs off the car's weight. I have some other bits and ends I have to pull out and in the end I'll have saved around 200.
@CoChicken1337 the reason its slow for 18 psi is the mitsubishi turbo on it..its way too small. psi not always what you think.. its the cfm it can produce that matters. 18 psi on my garret feels alot better. i can be cruising in second and floor it and as soon as i hit 18 psi it starts roasting em. at a 40mph roll. its just the turbo. hell this stock garrett is shitty to tho. soon i will have a tripple ball bearing turbo and it will fuck shit up
I know about CFM vs. pressure and all that. Why would someone be forcing 18 pounds out of a tiny turbo that's only efficient at half of that pressure then? That's just stupid.
@CoChicken1337 That turbo isn't only efficient at half that pressure. If you look at the map, 18 PSI is just borderline off. Yes, it's inefficient at that range BUT it pulls harder than it did at 15. It's been a fun car and learning project but it's going to have to go soon. I want something different.

If that's 18 psi, then there's something wrong with your car. That was very sluggish for 18 pounds.
