Then an Englishman in 1690.
Then a Frenchman in 1794.
Then the Spanish & English owned bits of the islands & argued over the territory.
Then everyone left the islands.
Then people came back & even the Germans had a go in the early 1900's.

It is nice to see the Falkland Islanders at home on their islands. I would love to visit one day. It is like a little bit of Britain in the south Atlantic. I am very glad that the British Forces are there to protect the self determination of the Islanders. If they have no interest in becoming part of Argentina, then the Argentinians should back off. @Lupinflo Of course we would respect them. If they would want to live in Malvinas, they would live there. We are not angry with the people living there, just we claim for our territory that you have stolen. Besides, Malvinas would be a state like our provinces with a particular Constitution. And they could choose their own governor, not like now!!

@aquabumblebee Well, I suggest you should pay a visit to East-London then. Nothing wrong with immigration, ofcourse not. But the U.K. screwed it up. And the most of them do it for the welfare. I've been to the U.K. a few times, terrific place. But places like that were just horrible. Nothing to do with racism, got nothing against Pakistani's after all.

@agus12360 Britain has owned the falklands a long time before Argentina or even Spain did. Then Argentina owned it for a brief period of time, then the UK in 1833 and has belonged to us ever since.
