  • oops, I meant, cant wait :P

  • You and me both bigmo10, I was looking for the sample to the Jay-z song Roc boys and discovered this wonderful band wasn't from the 70's like id thought. I can wait to hear more of their stuff.

  • these guys are dope. very musical. good to know some guys are still carrying the torch and still laying down artful soul funk grooves.

  • check out the budos band too dude theyre pretty fuckin cool

  • Was wondering the same thing, that bass track is sick! cant even tell what kind of bass that is.

  • 1969 Carvin 77-AGB "I use roundwound strings, and I keep them real dirty. Im always hesitant to put on new strings. Whenever I do, it always sounds awful, so I end up rubbing some grease into them. Ill get some French fries or ham or rub anything with grease onto the strings until I can rid them of that awful tone."

  • acutally it's gabe roth in the dap-kings that uses the carvin, i think. the bassist here is nick movshon, who's using what looks like a 70's gibson ripper

  • AWESOME

  • beautiful

  • This song is named after a community organization in brooklyn called make the road by walking and it is on menahan street. One more reason i love them!!!

  • This is just deadly. Completely great. One thing, though, why is it that the camera so often will completely ignore the bass player? I mean, that fella is dropping a wicked, solid bass line! Give him some love next time!

  • WOW

i swore this was some rare groove from the 70's i wasn't up on yet.

i been had...took...bamboozled...led astray... run amok.

  • You and me both. Here ive been down from allmost the begining lol

  • Beautiful performance. Menahan Street Band is such a great band and in times like these I wish I was a NYC citizen.

  • funk is for all to enjoy..

  • this is nasty, chilling until like like the 2 min mark -- then, you better be holding on to something, 'cause it's lift-off time, wow! Would love to know when this supergroup is touring -- if at all

  • Thanks for the video! This is one of the best bands I've ever heard in years & I'm wearing out their debut LP. They're excellent musicians and songwriters -- Tom Brenneck in particular is one amazingly tasteful guitarist. Do not miss them if you get the chance to see 'em!!!
