Hi dear.. Long time no see.. I haven't seen u in facebook.. how's everything?? Wow.. you play more and more beautiful everyday.. by the way.. have u ever recorded Mendelssohnm? I am in love with your Tchaikovsky version.. grettings.
I agree some pieces require passion, romance and strength, but Bach is different - he is not wishy washy romantic nor did he write with a view to hammer your violin to its limit. Every note had purpose - it's a baroque work full of counterpoint. If you want passion, romance and strength you want paganini!

I know this is a competition and there is a certain way to play Bach at a competition but this is so not interesting... I wish people would just take risks... There is a huge lack of phrasing here...

Definitely much better than average - tendency for intonation lapses (sharpness). Modelled on Szerying and not quite brought off the same as he does (hardly surprising!). Chords generally very well executed but if you can make the MIDDLE voice come through more (hard to do on the violin with top resonance) you will be onto a winner. Also quality of EVERY chord is a must.
I Agree!! wonderFULL!! (I anderstand the 4 and half stars of rating y heard Is not perfect) But your 17!! years old gave us 6 minutes of 6 stars MUSIC (I want to here when you are 30) VERYgood!!
Very clean and tasteful mastery of solo Bach. I've never heard of this particular competition, but I'm sure the talent level was high! I'm favoriting this vid.
Very good indeed! I like your slow, relaxed, flowing interpretation. Your tone projects very well and all in all a well thought out and executed performance! Congrats!
Thank you for your kind comment. I didn't have much time for this piece so I didn't think about the interpretation as much as I should but it's true - I was listening to his performance. I love listening to Great Violinists.
Very nice projection good intonation. I would like to see a little more direction in your phrasing; sometimes it seems like it is being played vertically rather than horizontally.
wow, give the guy a break. of course there were a few (very few) intonation issues. it's a performance. he was probably really nervous. i think you sounded great!
The intonation is actually pretty good in the chords, for me it sounds more out in the single note section on the second page. but the playing is a little dry, there are huge sections with no vibrato. Also, some phrases are little rushed through, take more time to make each statemnt of the fugue clear and make sure to finish each phrase and not just rush to the nex. Overall very good, especially for 17 years old!
Ooh. I like this recording, but a few chords are a little out of tune. Personally, I like this piece when it's played a bit more staccato, but I'm not saying to change the way you play it.

Talented violinist. Needs to work on intonation and not lifting the bow before every down bow chord. Personal opinion: Lose the shoulder rest.

Incidentally, my favorite recording of these pieces is the one by James Ehnes.
