Damn that car sounds nice and what a run congrats. My dad is pushing 650hp with his 08 Vette that he has a procharger on and he just hits 11s. The track he goes to isnt the greatest so I dont think they prep it worth a damn. Now if I can only get a supercharger on my Mustang and hope I can hit 11's lol.

That's some real american engineering right there, I hate how Europeans always dog on American cars. The Z06 is a badass car, for the price you can stomp pretty much anything out there on the road.

Thanks Winters, This is my best pass to date..... Give me a few weeks, if the weather cooperates I'm back to bone stock since I took the Corsas off and will hopefully see the 10's. |My camera will be there too. C5z's are nothing to sneeze at. |I'll bet my conditions were better than yours were too. Our cars aren't over a second apart in the 1/4. More like .7 or so. MIR is 80' above sea level and the DA was about -1300 this day which helped a bit and gave me about a .15 or so

FYI I was on another Vid where a stock red Z06 ran 11.7, maybe that's who ur talking about in this comment. I notcied he poped his clutch, & mention he should double clutch b/c he'd be able to use more RPM's & not bog if it's done right. So then I clicked on ur vid, bam perfect double clutch man,nice run! I'm no where as fast as u, but in a 04SVT Cobra stock, w/DR's I put down a 12.7@110 in Sacramento, Ca mid summer when it was like 90+outside thanks to a great double clutch launch like you did.

Well, I got to reply back you, a year later! I sold my C5Z, and now own a C6. I added an A&A SC when I bought the car and mufflers. I ran one pass in the car(ls7 clutch would glaze, etc). I ran a 10.65@135.80.(in my videos)

I added a ACT twin disk to hope to get to the car lower, but it glazed over as bad as the ls7. I'm going to shoot Gary and Robz a PM on the boards. Thread in the C6 FI section. Awesome car, and if you have time, post on my thread! Thanks

Wrong. They are GY runflat supercars. Same tires that came on the car when I bought it brand new. Click on the High quality button in the video box, make the video full screen and look at the tread on the tires, if you have a z06 you know what they look like. Look at all my other videos in my account too. Same tires. MIR is a great track, sticky as hell. Your track must suck if you spin on a launch at 1500 rpms.

Jeff your making yourself look pretty ignorant. I have a 2000 WS6 TA that runs high 12's with minor bolt ons.  The new ZO6's are capable of mid 11's bone stock. They are an incredable car for the price IMO. Do some research before you start running your mouth about something when you have no idea obviously. There are supercharged LS1 Camaros running high 11's so I dont know what your talking about.

I dont want to argue with any internet tough guys but I have a serious question. Why did I race a SUPERcharged vett at the track 3 days ago and it only ran a 12.8 and this SO CALLED stock vett is running 11's??? I think this guy has a lil more in his car than he is telling us about.

The vette you raced against had a 2.04 60ft. to my 1.74. Thats good for a. 1/2 sec right there. His trap speed was 113 to my 125 so my car is producing more HP than his. my shifts were right on the button, don't know about his. I ran in ideal weather conditions. 80' above sea level, 43*f with a DA below -1000. |My trap speed is right in line with all other z06's which shows I don't have any more power than they do I just had a near perfect pass. I spent $65k not $135k. z06's are beasts. thats it

the vette you raced against was a 2004 or earlier. I don't know exactly what year but they have 350 hp stock so he's probably around 450 with the sc, the car is much heavier, i had better weather conditions, a better track and from what I could tell from the timeslip better driving. Again z06's are beasts, thats why I got one

Because the suoercharged Vette you ran was a older LS1 Vette not the '07 like you stated in the video. Dont know why he only ran a 12.8 because he should be a 11 second car. Probably needs to learn to drive. The Vette in this video is a Z06 with the 427 cubic inch LS7 motor. These cars have done 10.90's BONE stock with a very good driver. Oh and these cars cost a lot less then 100 grand, not 100,000 grand like you said.

Perfect launch many people think they can buy a Zo6 or Zr1 and instantly run 11

second 1/4mi it takes a lot of passes to get this right! I have seen alot of guys that can't get in the 11s these cars are hard to launch this is not an auto that you hold the brake and stomp the gas it is a blend of clutch and throttle modulation that is not easy!

you can't compensate with more power when you are at the limit of the tire! I own a C6 Zo6 and the best pass I have made is 11.43 at 126mph with factory tires and 10.90 at 129mph with MT drag radials. I agree that the Zr1 is faster with drag radials probably 10.3 at 135mph +- but with factory tires they will run close to each other. I am guessing you don't own a supercar when you do let me know!

Might be the time but not the MPH. The ZR1 is in the 130-132 MPH range in the 1/4 and will proceed to walk the Z06 after the 1/4 or any type of roll where a good launch isn't a factor. This guy is a great driver.

With a somewhat slow squeeze of the gas until I've moved 10 ft or so and a SLIGHT slip of the cluth after it grabs. Not too much or it will stick to the floor from being overheated
