  • @cschingh Just like every consol gamer "MAKE IT HAVE COD ON XBL" how bout we dont let nerds like u screw good technology

  • what's next? Microsoft mirror? I'm tired of screens, you should start making better OS than wasting time making tables to compete with apple.

  • It looks good development wise, but the actual machine doesn't seem to be able to handle the game all that well. It looks delayed and laggy for what is really just a simple board game. It is clearly bogged down by the sheer resolution of the device, scaling and all the other assets they showed in the video. They clearly need a more powerful gpu/cpu in the device.

  • awesome

  • iphone<tabled<microsoft surface. whats next touch cinema?

  • I've got wood for sheep and i got wood watching this video.

  • @cschingh Well it's expected to be cheaper in the future.

  • sense oard because this game meakes no senseon it. its controls are too slow. its impractical to keep your hand cards secret.

  • Those rich basterds...

  • Cool!

  • they really should try to cross platform this to xbox and different slates with a network.

  • omg...im gonna make a budget for this thing

  • Amazing! I want one, but can we get the price under $2k?

  • give it a few years and these things will be down to a reasonable price. imagine having these at tables in bars. they are liquid resistant so setting a drink on them is fine

  • Next step - networked surfaces with holographic projections of the other players.

  • longmachao, cheaper for whom? This version of the game is for places like bars to offer to their patrons. You, as a consumer, wouldn't be paying anything. On your PC you are playing alone or online, but on Surface you're playing with friends.

  • wouldn't it be cheaper and easier just to play this on a pc ?

  • Fantastic! Microsoft gets slagged for not developing innovative technologies, but this blows anything Apple has ever brought out by a long shot. Absolutely amazing technology.

  • Somewhere in the future, I think a lot of families will have these, and will have the ability to buy new games on an online store, providing that the price can come down.

  • So how would I cheat? :P

  • cuanto costara eso en precio de mexico¿?

    alguien me puede decir¿?

  • Brilliant! But I'll just play on my iPad for $4.99 for now.

  • They act like instructions have never been used before for a board game. LOL

"we actually give you a how to play section".. no shit..

  • @cschingh This is very new and advanced technology, that's the reason why it is so expensive... The price will drop soon when many people get interested in it.

  • This would be nice in 3d, without glasses ofcourse ;)

  • @cschingh this one utilises more than touch screen for fingers. If you look closely when he rolls the dice it picked up what he rolled. Also when he moves the card reader thing that turns the cards over it reveals card. That's whys it $12,500

  • Cool but unnecessary. But cool :) Future is fun :)

So who are these Surface customers? Who would have this thing?

  • Can't wait for this technology to come right down in price. Will be amazingzzzz

  • At first I was like how are they going to see their own hands without other players seeing them, but then I saw what they did there =)

  • Catan is the best game and most addicting out there...

  • @whipsaw7

    I prefer Dominion

  • @whipsaw7

    No Agricola is.....

  • The most expensive board game of all time!

  • Nice tech but pointless application.

  • @rolandinho1975

Well you need to start somewhere. That's how research and development works. You do a simple thing, people give you money to do a standard one. You make it standard, people give you money to do it big and fancy. And so on...

  • its a giant ipad

  • @alucardvv

    A giant iPad?

This thing was announced May 29, 2007 and initially launched April 17, 2008. The iPad is ~2-3 years late. I understand what you're saying though.

  • Fail. 200 times as expensive and no advantages.

  • @buttermilch1989

    You didn't get it.

1 - This is tecnology development. You start with a simple game, and soon you can do whatever you want. The computer games, for example, were pointless in the beginning, look what we've got now.

2 - This is software. In the future, you will have one million games on your microsoft surface or similar. They won't need any game shelf

3 - You can save games, without taking any space.

Lots of other advantages. I've ran out of space and patience.

  • After working for a board game retailer, I know how popular this game is and I'm sure this will be a great game to have for this kind of thing! Very Cool I would love to have one!

  • wooow.

  • Great now i need 15K to get a Microsoft surface

  • This looks awesome! Only problem I have is people can see your cards when trading. How am I suppose to use my awesome bluffing skills if everyone can see my cards?

  • awesome!!!!!

    where can i buy this???!!!!!!!!!

  • Looks amazing ... I wonder if they'll release it with the expansions as well ...

  • Looks amazing. When can we actually buy this stuff?

  • Automobile? Blah. Aviation? Boooring. This is the greatest invention I've ever seen.

  • Good golly.

  • para que los demas sigan imitando.

  • Looks friggin' awesome! :)

  • We play a lot of Catan, I want this!

  • Looks like a ton of fun! :)
