  • i got this knife two days ago and made a bow and some arrows with it i was very careful not to chip it but i looked and it has micro chips near the tip the day i got it. i also sliced me finger with it down to the bone the day i got it

  • @joeclapper ouch, that must have hurt. It's sharp isn't it :) The micro chips can easily be sharpened out. You'll get to the better metal then and probably won't have any issues then with the chipping. It has to do with the heat treat on the very edge where the metal is very thin, that might be a little bit too much, making the steel brittle. the steel just slightly away from the edge is better.

  • @joeclapper also for a micro sharp edge use a leather strop with a compound. it has been proven to polish and sharpen the blade to a micro scopical sharp non raged edge.

  • het is een best mooi mes maar het mes is nogal klein ik ga denk ik een ka-bar usmc kopen

  • @BoudensMarco cool, geen ervaring mee, wat ga je ermee doen?

  • I have the same knife.. good stuff...... regards stealthy uk

  • @vontheviking thanks, it's good stuff for sure :)

  • the sound of the izula cutting is noticeably choppier where as the fallkniven has no sound when it cuts...thanks for the video!

  • Excellent video! Thank you for the time spent on making it.

  • @WorminJoe you're most welcome my friend!

  • Does the VG10 hold an edge better than RATS 1095? How much harder is it to sharpen? Great vids man.

  • @MrBladeDude Thanks man. rat's 1095 seems good to me, holds an edge well and is easy to sharpen. the f1 is convexed and needs to be sharpened differently. Didn't have chipping issues for the f1 in my use so far (a little on the a1 though, vg10) As far as edge retention: can't really tell, one day your chopping up pine with one knife, the next your scraping bark of oak with the other... not the same thing. Don' really have a good comparison so far...

    for sharpening: different, not harder

  • Can u do a review on the izula?

    The pink is PRETTY unique.

    Thanks.

  • @kevlar711yo probably not, it has been done a lot of times before, buy hey, you never know. Might do a pink knife special hehe

  • Awesome testing !!

I love my F1 again and more.

    Thanks.

  • @virtuovice thanks V. Good to hear your enjoying the vids.

  • thank you for sharing!

  • Excellent video. I'm considering one of these. You sold me on this baby.

    Thanks man!

    Cheers!

  • @SageSofa You're welcome friend! Did you get it already?

  • The VG10 steel Fallkniven uses dose not go dull in pine wood.

  • @lmglange eventually it will, but it holds up very well. Some stropping or light honing will get it back to sharp quickly.

  • pink izula? xD

  • @ivageivage it's the new black :D

  • I can't wait for someone to say your a fast whittler...good review.

  • @MisterMinnesota lol (y)

  • Very good testing!!

I especially like how you compared it to the Izula and RC-3.

    It's my next blade.

    5 stars!

  • @BLUNTRUTH4U Hey BT4U, thanks a lot. I'm glad you're back in town!!! You're the man when it comes to some good old woodcutting :) You'll like my next vid too, I've been hiking the west highland trail in scotland with my rc-4. COming up tomorrow.

  • @BLUNTRUTH4U Ahhh man get nother bark river knife, well I take that back get this one!

  • one thing with the wood cutting, I liked it but we don't know how hard the wood is. It looked like some kind of pine maybe? I wave cut come woods with my bark rivers and they have a really hard time, others are easy. Great review over all 5 stars

  • @tobeaSEAL It's a pine tree, not very hard, as I said: not very impressive :) thanks!

  • on the blade thats not chipping thats metal from the firesteel itself

  • Great videos. Thanks for this

  • @rc3mil thanks, you're welcome!

  • so for you is better the z1 at all?

i wanted to buy the rat 3 but i discoverd now the f 1...

    what do you think?

  • @ROMACAPUTMUNDI1927 If you havent all ready pulled the triger go with the Fallkniven. Just as strong and cuts better because it is convex.

  • @tobeaSEAL it would be done...thx!

  • Your review was excellent, very thorough and great demonstrations. Thanks for posting!

  • @SluggySlugworth thanks for the compliments, great that you liked it!

  • Nice - I like the way you sped up the vid for your carving, then slowed it back down - neat! Thanks for posting your review.

    best regards

    mqqn

  • @mqqn01 thanks man (y)

  • What angle it blade sharpened to? Is it convexed? Nice vids

  • awesome video!

  • thanks friend, appreciate it!

  • ★★★★★

  • Thanks!

Like the cutting demo to! Always fun to see knives perform! ^^

Btw... the F1 has a thin and convex edge... the izula is thicker and has no convex edge but one on 20/30 degrees? Maybe that is why it cuts a bit harder? ;)

  • it's also a lot smaller than the f1, less grip, but it's a nice knife also. and I love neck knives
