WELL...I LOVE both as Artists but THIS is VERY POPULAR with CHER!!! Read ALL the Comments! And Click to see how many times Favorited!! And THANK YOU!!!
KISS is great too. And it was written by Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Lou Reed and Bob Ezrin...so...without them there would not be the SONG! But I do totally and wholeheartedly agree that CHER puts an amaazing spin on this. It has ALWAYS been one of my favorites by her!!
Funny you find this so. Click above on the KISS version above and also look to compare number of times they are favorited. Also, did you not know that Gene and CHER dated and are still very good friends?
Song is OK, just. What moral imbecile would call that a video of hero's? Looks like a parade of celebrities. With all respect to the Marine amongst them. That actually should have been titled an ode to everything that's wrong with the American dream: complacent, materially possessed, narcissistic and as easy to swallow as a 30 second political attack ad. Please, I hope you're younger than 13-years-old.
You can view it as satire if you wish but in my educated & media-exposed opinion, these are ALL individuals who have made interesting and VERY VALID contributions. If you don't like any of them/it, perhaps that IS something to be said about media exposure; Age has nothing to do with it. Thanks for your critical insult.
If you watch closely my Cher A World Without Heroes version, the one with the people I parade, the heroes are not all Americans. In addition, each one has accomplished much and if you think you can do more in your life, by all means go for it. Your critique may have valid components but I challenge you to make a video you like better & include people in it you deem heroes. Now you have me curious.
i've always loved this song by Cher...i didnt realize it was originally a Kiss song....thx for the info...curious to hear the original now though i have a feeling this one will still be my favorite
I've never heard this before. its a great cover. This is probably the only time I can think of that i thought a cober of a Kiss song was better than the original
Kiss is my favorite band and to be totally honest, I wouldn't walk across the street to see Cher if it was a free front row center ticket, but I have to admit that this version annihilates Kiss'. This is how Kiss should have done it
I thought the same thing. She does this the way that someone would expect Kiss to do it and they do it like one would think she would. This is much better than Kiss'
this is serously how kiss should have recorded it. if they did it this way and had paul singing it, it would be awesome. shes using the same pitch paul used for odyssey and i think he'd be perfect for it
I think her voice resounds and you know she had to step BACK in the Wall of Sound years because Phil Spector's backup singers were not as loud. Her gorgeous voice has the strength and depth of the oceans...And WE KNOW it!!!
I think It's really funny to see Anne Frank in it. I live in the same country as she did and she has her own museum in the house she stayed in the war. I read the book for school, But in this country is isn't really a 'heroe' she doesn't did heroe things, so much people lived like her in that time or ever worser. But she did write an very good book (diary). Did you know that there is also an book about what happend when she was in Germany...
I am actually German but never visited. We read this in America too & her bravery and courage was ALWAYS appreciated by my family, even tho my sister is actually now Muslim. I found her VERY brave in the book--to remain in hiding when Jewish people were persecuted, ostracised and tormented. My family was also German-Russian when they killed people in Russia back in 1913 too...
that was the WWone 1914-1918, be glad you doesn't lived in Europe in times of the World Wars (so do I :P) You know it has advantages and disadvantages to live with alot small countries: they help each other alot in times of financial crisis (like now, we are doing alot better now in europe) But they also kill each other when there is one stupid man reigns. (thats why we have alot women now :P) PS sorry when my English isn't really good I just learn it for 2 years now .
I would love to see this Museum they have revered her to make! Imagine there are many many books about the Germany. My Aunt was visiting there & escaped just in time! My Father actually visited as a Merchant Marine when the Nazis occupied my Sis transferred the old 8 mm of 1938- or '39 onto a DVD & its COLOR!!! of SS troops, Nazi flags, frauleins & soldiers, pole climbing, women doing hoop exercises, German farmers, German horseracers & even a sign that said Adolf Hitler Plaza
Anne Frank doesn't lived in Germany. It's what alot people thinks but she was living in the Netherlands in Amsterdam. It is hard to know because The Netherlands is a small country next to Germany and in Germany they speak Deutch and in Holland (the same as the Netherlands) they speek Dutch. so when your a Dutchman you come from The Netherlands not from Germany :) The languages do look like each other like Spanish and Italian.
Art & music are in the eye of the beholder. Someone without musical talent or skill will not be easily accepted & appreciated by others, so promotion is the real test I suppose. I can defend my interest easier in an artist, when others appreciate them as well.
Mainstream versus underground aspects I suppose. I think it is implicit if you love & trust someone that you do find something about their music that is deep & meaningful. The key is how you are able to experience it personally & how able & well you can share that music with others beneficially.
"How much sense would it make to date a musician who doesn't make great music?" Many do. You can't choose who you love. And when you love someone, your perception of them is altered.
If you go to the Top Right here under the orange Subscribe button is a blue "more info." Click there. YES, it is the opinion and message of the Video Producer that actor Al Pacino and California Governor Schwarzenegger have done some remarkable things in their lifetimes, as well as other heroes featured here.
I have to disagree. KISS may have written it and sung it live and gave it life, but Cher's recording gives this song the depth, the melancholy nuance and showstopping melody it so deserves.
What? Just cause I love CHER so much, I NEVER "diss KISS." Different listeners, though some crossover. Nicely, that rhymes. I don't think of them as competing. KISS and CHER are both HIGHLY RESPECTED MUSIC GREATS. (that "one is better than...."--crap--is B.S. Even Gregg Allman pointed that out recently.)
Well, how much sense would it make to date a musician who doesn't make great music? Hmmm, it would sure be a waste of time & talent. You either stand behind someone you love--or not.
I am a huge CHER-fan so of COURSE I love CHER's contralto! Are you kidding?!! I practically CRIED when I saw her Live the first time with Elijah in 1990...and when I play her song "Stars" ?! I love her More Than You Know...
Oh, ok. I think they can still find this song written by Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Lou Reed and Bob Ezrin, and was originally recorded and released on their 1981 album Music from "The Elder". I will bet they can find the CD on eBay or Amazon or f.y.e. with the KISS version.
And what about Princess Di? She was so bravely against land mines. And Queen Rania of Jordan? Most people in the US don't know who she is?! And Prince Andrew--who placidly & thoughtfully keeps PEACE. And Elijah Blue Allman? What has been seen of his AMAZING SPIRIT & DETERMINATION and how he got some recent railing in a music journal?! He has done so well with his tours last year, new CD, recent solo music project. All of them are DESERVING of our PRAISE & ENCOURAGEMENT.
There are, however, many positive role models in the media who are deserving of praise and without whom the world would be a very dismal place. they perform an important function. we need them.
Analogy was once Tony Montana APPARENTLY on top of the world, all the material possessions ever--yet unhappy in his marriage & work. So the futility of using drugs, the greed and ruthlessness, wasn't truly a gain. Thus, CHER sings)"a neverending race." And was an illusion that (CHER sings) was truly "a sad & useless thing," It led to DISASTER. SLAUGHTER. But Al Pacino is great! His acting portrayed the life and personality well. One of the greatest actors in film history!
Thirdly, we are fascinated with violence and horror because we it can be an entertaining contrast, providing escape from a dismal life. But this was meant to focus on the fact that we NEED and APPRECIATE HEROES to be happy. Guess it(I)failed there. We need to know that in this evil and crooked world, there is justice, even if it is sometimes just in the movies.
Thank You for that 'valuable' information, lol (like I didn't know that b4)...but the question that NEEDS 2B asked is whether Tony Montana can be perceived as a HERO with all his tough talk, itching trigger finger and diving his nose in pile of coke, lol (I really doubt it).
Shit you should talk. In Croatia they protect an indicted war criminal calling him a "national hero". I hear from fuckers like you that Iraqi insurgents are "freedom fighters" glossing over the fact that they mainly kill civilians. POV bitch, point-of-view thats all it comes down to.
Oh and some doctors think video games and listening to rock music cause mental disorders. For whatever reason, sobriety included, some of us do have the ability to separate our reality from history or the cinema worlds.
We are living in the world where people love to watch a bloody feast on silver screen, a world where mobsters and serial killers are made into stars and as a result they gain immortality. It is a sign that America has clearly lost its capability to tell between right and wrong. Why is it that Americans are so fascinated with violence, guns that they actually pay their hard earned $ to see a movie where 'heroes' like Tony Montana slay dozens of 'enemies' all in the name of status and power ?
I think part of this may be our insatiable love for drama and part might be because we feel we are powerless over so much in the current climate of our lives but when we see that someone else has physical power we can imagine we are strong again.
I understand what you are saying, but the truth is that most of these violent films earn many, many millions when released in other countries,so it aint just us.
I agree. America is not the only country who adores horror and violent movies. Think I missed getting a point across that movies can help us understand the crazy violent deaths of our heroes. But then again, nothing REALLY can. Cause we NEED our HEROES.
Why is it that Europeans always have to single out America? After all if you'd take the time to pull your head out of your own ass and do some research, you'd quickly find out that a lot of crappy movies(Judge Dread, Demolition)didn't make shit in the US. You fing foreigners are the only reason Stallone still even has a career. Get some taste losers.
Its not how al Europeans are, it are just some losers how doesn't got any thing better to do.
'Cause I'm European and I do like America. I never been in America but still.. :P And I think europeans how single out America are Single out them selfs, because in history America and Europe where one.
Excellent Job, So proud of you!!!! I just closed my eyes when DUMP TRUCK came on and it rocked!!! Loved that pic of CHER & CHAS in their squaw gear!!!

Stallone is a legend in acting for a REASON and has done MUCH for things including Planet Hollywood~ Have you seen "Oscar?" He was PRICELESS.

lol You're joking right? Do you know Stallone wanted to be Superman in 1978? "Yo Louis" "Hey Jimmy"

Its not how al Europeans are, it are just some losers how doesn't got any thing better to do.
'Cause I'm European and I do like America. I never been in America but still.. :P And I think europeans how single out America are Single out them selfs, because in history America and Europe where one.
