I played this when I was 12, easily twice the age of some pokemon trainers, and I was still having nightmares about it 3 days later. To make matters worse, it was earth hour and total darkness when I was in there and battled Giratina 0.o . The only other game that gave me nightmares was Earthbound.

@Camelle1986 That's one of this game's strong features, in my opinion, it adds a creepy yet powerful aspect to this game that is so different from the old games, yet so connected. One of the best soundtracks for games, and good chances for number #1, is the pokemon games soundtracks. :)

When the portal to the Reverse World opened I was like 'okay' and then it distorted Spear Pillar and I was like 'How dare you! I like Spear Pillar and u go and Distort it!' So I spent 4 hours running around the Reverse World trying to figure it out until I finally reached Giratina. I used ma Master Ball on him cuz I couldn't be bothered to use anythin else.

I never remebered pokemon for possessing great memorable musics like Final Fantasy would, but this track is astounding. I can't help but feel the torn world was realy a unique moment in Platinum and the music does alot for the stage's ambience. It realy stand above the other musical themes in the whole franchise.

The biggest disappointment for me was that we entered this brave new world, were introdruced to some of the most mysterious music ever heard in a Pokemon game, and then find out there's not a single new pokemon to find.

The music sort of sounds like when you put your ear up to a pepsi machine and just listen and relax.

It's sort of like ambient music, but there is still a beat and you can hum to it...sort of.

So that's why it sounds like a Metroid song. This place is more about the atmosphere than giving you a catchy song...and so is the Metroid world (at least in a game like Metroid II).

In the future I'd like to see them rely less on the more conventional ways of composing music (finding a catchy tune) and maybe using more ambient songs to set the right mood in places like this.

What a very dark theme. I was surprised by the entrance of Giratina on Spear Pillar, was horrifying when it took Cyrus to the Distorsion World (flooding so fast the screen in black with his powerful cry). When Legendary Pokémon got a real impact in the game, Giratina is just the best.
