  • Comments on here are brilliant. Love the sense of humour on YouTube :)

  • Oh boy, so many teenage boys must have, AHEM, "grown up" with Sheena!!

  • Night time is the right time, you`ve heard it here. FACT.

  • She's mimin'. His life is really boring!

    Etcet-era, -era.

  • omg she's a scot? are those her real teeth? ;)

  • Love the jump-suit, and the wicked dance moves! Who said white people or Scots can't dance?! (Sarc!)

I've still got a personalised signed photo of the gorgeous Sheena from back-in-the-day... Man! I feel like such a geek!

  • This was the era of the jumpsuit, my sister-in-law had several flying suits in this era, they were worn by women of a more mature age, us kids used to wear tight, dark blue denim jeans.

  • @Feisty1967 I'm wearing a jumpsuit now!

  • I'd 'giver her one!!'. I've never been able to understand all the lyrics to this song (going to look them up soon), listening to this I did notice she sand 'Rest-a-urant', that was one of many parts I could never hear properly.

  • Well, the healing has begun, I might just yet recover from listening to the Mini Pop Kids version.

It's a bad sign when a 5-year-old dresses less modestly than the pop star she's trying to emulate.

  • Im a child of the early eighties. HUman League, Teardrop Explodes, Depeche Mode , Madness , Specials etc. But THIS - this is really shit. She was a muppet. I can imagine when I get to 60 or so and Im at a wedding the Dj will put this on so I can do the slosh.

  • @cullyvan

your comment is so nasty. well....I guess YOU are shit, actually...Why can't you just watch and enjoy like anyone else does?

  • @rahim4585 Sorry , each to their own. But you can do your own research, she never wrote a song in her life. Never played an Instrument. Just a vehicle for selling bad songs to idiots. In my opinion of course.

  • love the outfit

  • I battle it for a fight!

  • Chorus - "I'm on playback, everyone"....

Ahh - the days before better mic technique was taught to manufactured acts - she's off-axis constantly!

  • this Scot is really good!

  • a remember going for this a hink it was 1.29 for the 7inch

  • I like the 80's, wish I could go back...

  • @Ron1972666 I also

  • Sheena Easton is SUCH a classy lady. I was like two years old when this came out. Excellent! Do you have a clip of her performing this song on American Bandstand?

  • wow, that brings back memories. I'd love to have her waiting for me. I did in 1980 too.

  • Very catchy song with a feel good factor about it.

  • There isn't a song today that can match this. Any music from today gives me the frowns. Anytime I listen to this, I'd like to get up and skip like crazy. It makes you feel you're on Cloud 9. That's the 80's for you.

  • This was before Prince got a hold of her and then turned her in to a vamp sexy tramp! lol and I mean that in a good way, because she was cute in this, but she looked a lot better sexy and with her short skirts. :)

  • sheena easton nice tits with almost a good voice.oh and i am not sure but i think she buggered off to america and left behind a husband and possibly a kid

  • Catchy song all right, but this is possibly the worst playback session I've ever seen. Not even remoootely real.

  • I remember this song being slagged off by Rowan Atkinson in a sketch in 'Not the Nine O'Clock News'

My baby takes the morning bus, he spends the day with a whore, he comes home and strangles me!

  • My baby takes the morning train

He works from nine till five and then

    He takes another home again

    His life is really boring!

  • @scotpens

Not if your boffing that every night!

  • The audience seems unusually stable and cooperative :)

  • The trouble is, although it's great to see this, all of a sudden you realise that you're 29 years older yourself...!!

  • are the audience doing an audition for a zombie movie ?

  • I love this song! ;)

  • Well I thought back then she was HOT with this look .

  • She's really pretty, but short hair didn't suit her...she reminds me here of Mia Farrow. Great song. Catchy....

  • I remember 1980 sitting in Hartlepoll watching this

  • I have always liked this song, but now I hear that she doesnt have a life of her own and doesnt exist until her man comes home. How sad. Oh boy! If shes good she gets to go to movie. Maybe even a restaurant. Get a career babe! Get your own damned life, dont need a man to buy it.

  • She also recorded "Modern Girl," you know.

    Besides, it's only a SONG, not a socio-political statement.

  • excelente cantante, que pasaria con ella?

  • great song gor exercise like walking or running. scheoj

  • I wasn't born in 1980

But I SKIMPILY FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG

Loves HER VOICE, TECHNIQUE , EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE, OF COURSE THE MELODY

    Thanks for uploading

  • Apparently those boots were glued to the floor... hysterical "moves."

  • lol I I know, right? I mean, it was playback, not like she had to focus her breath for the voice, she could've freestyled it a little, like take two steps or something..

Can't really see what Prince saw in her..

    Still love the song though!

  • I think Prince went for her cos she was one of the few women on earth shorter than him lol

  • Prince likely thought she was cute and back then she had an adorable Scottish accent.

  • This was 1980 so it'll have been British Rail.

  • she hits the big 5-0 this year.....always loved this woman....one of my favorite singers of all time

  • Even with the blue collar outfit, she looks beautiful!!! "Night time is the right time we make love"!

  • Ice blue eye shadow..weeeeee!!!! and OH ! that hair style ..pure classic ,I liked her after PRINCE gave her a makeover..check out "Sugar Walls"...

  • thanks Dude - for the music

  • Hi, 80music, thanks for the great content ! I have been listening all your videos, and some things are pearls, like tracey ullman singing they don´t know.

    thanks again and wonderful work

  • She had a penchant for edgy lyrics (by the standards of the time), especially with Sugar Walls written by Prince.

  • Sheena Easton--I'll always remember her as the artist who did a fantastic Bond theme, "For Your Eyes Only" back in the 80s and she was very lustilicious hehe--Great upload 80smusicdude and faved by your pal Mikey!

  • Do you have the other performance: "Lip up fatty" by Bad Manners on that edition.

  • Yes but the recording cut off early for some reason. As the full version of that performance already appears on YouTube there didn't seem much point in putting my inferior shortened version online.

  • Camp as ever!.... I really DIG that Jimpsuit, and I am NOT being sarcastic. SOOOOOOOO 1981, loved it and love it. FAB!
