All my life I've heard people say "I am inspired by this" or "This person inspires me to..." So all my life I looked for that inspiration. I have always wanted something or someone to inspire me to do something great. I'm 19 years old now and I just found my inspiration. Joan Jett has done so much with her life. So many amazing things. Joan helped break the mold as did Pat Benatar and Anne and Nancy Wilson of Heart in the late 70's. These women proved they had the talent and the guts to back it up. They had the balls to do it, and I applaud them for that and 30+years later they are still relevant, they were pioneers in music and the fact that they are recognized 35 years later is a testiment to their influence.

Hey MsSchuk, I saw that same show at the PNE the day after her mother died. I think going through with the show anyways was cathartic for her. Having seen her perform several times before, I noticed that this time there was a certain power and beauty, a vulnerability that was inevitable. It was awesome watching someone work their passion as part of the grieving process...her mother would be proud.

They had the balls to do it, and I applaud them for that and 30+years later they are still relevant, they were pioneers in music and the fact that they are recognized 35 years later is a testiment to their influence.

it really saddens me to see that people are still getting caught up on insignificant details such as sexual orientation. Why must we label people at all? It's 2010 people, time to change this pattern of prejudice. In a perfect world we wouldn't even question the sex of those we all sleep with! It's the fixation on it that is unhealthy, try approaching things with a COMPLETELY open mind instead. Some of you may think you're already doing so but using the term "homo" certainly says otherwise...

Hey MsSchuk, I saw that same show at the PNE the day after her mother died. I think going through with the show anyways was cathartic for her. Having seen her perform several times before, I noticed that this time there was a certain power and beauty, a vulnerability that was inevitable. It was awesome watching someone work their passion as part of the grieving process...her mother would be proud.

If you notice, she only does it at the beginning or in a transition of her answer to a question. Pretty cool, a lot of rock stars just like to hear the sound of their own voice, but she's pretty contemplative. Her words have a lot of content.
