The cost of these units to do a full home surveillance is prohibitive. Not to mention, you can only access it from one computer. Want to watch motion events from your phone? Be prepared to pay a monthly fee. I also have the Swann system, but I'm finding the interface very clunky and the resolution is pretty bad. My biggest problem with it is finding that motion detection events is really difficult.

@Ellie09809230923 The cost is $304 for the first camera and $280 each for cameras two through six. You don't have to buy a recorder so you save that. I don't know your point of reference but that is considerably cheaper than my previous systems. You can watch remotely for free. There is an annual fee of $80 if you want the ability to remotely replay recorded video. This should be free as far as I'm concerned but there is no monthly fee.

@Jordkoivika Yes, the motion detector is very adjustable. You can adjust its sensitivity and also mask areas of the screen you want ignored.

I dont see any time and date stamp on the actual video. This wouldnt be any good as court evidence if it doesnt have this. I have been trying to get my logitech webcam to put a time and date stamp on my vides on normal recording. It does however have time and date stamp on the motion detection videos. Its a shame when I record at night it doesnt let me put a time and date stamp on normal constant recorded videos.The motion detection software doesnt work very well at night.

@keith23uk Keith, When you play back video the date and time displays on the screen but when you export it the date and time do not show on the exported video. I agree this is bad.

I'm not happy with it,

Mine is setup 10 feet from my car and unless it is standing perfecty still most things are just a blur I think it's because of only 15 frames per second which makes it really hard to see a face unless they are standing 4feet away.

Returning it for something better.

It comes with mounting hardware. It is pretty easy unless you want to hang it in brick. Then you will need a masonry bit and some patience! To connect it you just plug it into 110 VAC.

How do you hang the camera to the outside of the house? And how is it powered? I don't know anything about wiring.

Yes, but we had to replace the micro SD card on one of the two cameras.

miah022, Yes. After you hang the camera, the installation takes about ten minutes. It is beyond easy. I have installed a bunch of CCTV systems and this was by far the easiest.  Like 2% of the typical installation time.

What are the other weak points, aside from the extremely sensitive motion detector? The video quality is excellent.
