My take on it has always been this: Platina dies in the prologues that leads straight up to this. I believe that the wedding scene is a dying fantasy of her wanting to get married to Lucian. It's all speculation though.

in old Nordic Mythologies Lenenth can be compare to the Valyrie Brunhild she was punished because of her desobedience and she was given a curse of eternal sleep it was easy for odin to punish her cause she was half Human ( like Lenneth ,Platina ?)
