@errell111 accuracy one doesnt really stand true. the two most accurate assault rifles in the world are the sig 552 and the l85a2. they're both piston. a compensator will reduce muzzle rise and a properly tuned piston system will recoil the same or less compared to a di.
@errell111 nope, because you'd need a DI barrel, new bolt and probably completely new internal design. DI has no advantages over piston except weight. they chose the piston for the best reliability of the two.

@SniperCountry96 No you can't, You can only get full-auto's registered before 1986. It is impossible for a civillian to buy one registered after that date. That's why full auto M16's cost around $15,000 to buy.

@chunxmkgee because you have to evaluate the costs of everything. The money in buying the weapons, and more importantly re/training on the weapon system. While it's all pretty straight forward, there are a lot of people that need EVERYTHING explained to them.
Magpul was the original designer of the ACR and the foregrip is one of their designs. it doesnt come stock on the weapon. It's an aftermarket accessory someone threw on. you can see it at magul.com under theory based products
Daynknight, it's called the AFG and it's stands for Angled Fore Grip; you're actually meant to grip the weapons from beneath that.

This gun is a piece of shit, theres a reason why the US military keeps turning it down. It jams worse than the AR15. The American military is already working on getting the AR-15 replaced with a lucky assault rifle. This isnt it! If anyone has a hard time changing issue rifles its the USA!
The military hasn't reviewed it competitively yet. I would be truly surprised if it jams worse than my old service M16A2 (granted, a fair amount of that was beat mag's). BTW the M4 / M16 was the worst jamming, by far, in the military competition for a potential replacement. If it weren't for politics, the USA be using the M-8 right now.
@mtnmist1 When did you have an M16a2 in the military? I think it would be more likley for you to be issued an M4a1 or an M16a4 in the Marine corps. I think we can both agree our government is quite screwed up and needs some adjusting.
I wasn't in the Marine's; I was '88 - '92, 82nd Abn. Some units in the USMC were kitted out with A2's at the time as well (both services were migrating away from A1's). The rifle really hasn't changed much since then (basically flatop conversions & barrel length). I think most agree the government, especially procurement process, is royally messed up. If they can't make a pretty simple decision & move forward objectively, guys in harms way will continue to be screwed...
@FreemanLambda i think the AR-15 should be switched with the HK 416, its by far incredibly close to an AR by looks, takedown and such yet it uses a complex gas piston system and its said to not jam in any situation. i wonder why the US military hasnt considered HKs model... unless HK bsed about the 416 and 417... @DudeNumberOnePlus HK-416 is a joke. Avtomat still outperforms the HK-416 in reliablity and is rugged. People have certain tastes in rifles and like the "tactical" look. I would rather have an Avtomat because it is a good assault weapon and can penetrate the majority of surfaces. With a properly train soldier armed with an Avtomat-type weapon, they can efficently take down multiple targets. HK-416 is just another Heckler & Koch. Im thankful the ACR bushmaster will never be used though.

This gun is a piece of shit, theres a reason why the US military keeps turning it down. It jams worse than the AR15. The American military is already working on getting the AR-15 replaced with a lucky assault rifle. This isnt it! If anyone has a hard time changing issue rifles its the USA!

The military hasn't reviewed it competitively yet. I would be truly surprised if it jams worse than my old service M16A2 (granted, a fair amount of that was beat mag's). BTW the M4 / M16 was the worst jamming, by far, in the military competition for a potential replacement. If it weren't for politics, the USA be using the M-8 right now.

I wasn't in the Marine's; I was '88 - '92, 82nd Abn. Some units in the USMC were kitted out with A2's at the time as well (both services were migrating away from A1's). The rifle really hasn't changed much since then (basically flatop conversions & barrel length). I think most agree the government, especially procurement process, is royally messed up. If they can't make a pretty simple decision & move forward objectively, guys in harms way will continue to be screwed...

@FreemanLambda i think the AR-15 should be switched with the HK 416, its by far incredibly close to an AR by looks, takedown and such yet it uses a complex gas piston system and its said to not jam in any situation. i wonder why the US military hasnt considered HKs model... unless HK bsed about the 416 and 417... Fuck Ronny Barretts M468.... chances are that gun jams to fuck as well

@RockMasterEXE That wouldnt be a bad idea, however I think we need to abandon the AR system in entirity it is obselete and even an old Kalashnikov could outperform an HK416 (in reliability NOT in tactical ability)

@FreemanLambda then i think its time we moved onto something more higher in quality and performance, that AND a higher caliber would be nice, have you heard anything on the SCAR series? if that gun jams a lot? because if so, why not modify the SCAR series and make that the rifle of choice, if not, im sure theres other rifles out there that can be a suitable replacement. personally, the AR platform should be Civilian only, as for army, give them suttin with more punch

@DudeNumberOnePlus HK-416 is a joke. Avtomat still outperforms the HK-416 in reliablity and is rugged. People have certain tastes in rifles and like the "tactical" look. I would rather have an Avtomat because it is a good assault weapon and can penetrate the majority of surfaces. With a properly train soldier armed with an Avtomat-type weapon, they can efficently take down multiple targets. HK-416 is just another Heckler & Koch. Im thankful the ACR bushmaster will never be used though.
