  • This really is a beautiful song but wouldnt ya just piss ya self if when D.G did the splits his shoe flew off and took out the guy on the piano..

  • saw her last night was superb

  • @zodian hi music breaks down the barriers of time when its as good as this oh the mystique!

  • lovely track

  • A special song for me for a lost love. Even now I think of her fondly when I hear this, it sends chills through me. Amazing!

  • Another classic from the best era for music. I was one of the lucky ones who grew up in the 70's and started driving in the early 80's. So music like this was allways blasting out the Cortina and Capri..Music like this wil be here for years unlike the modern rubbish that comes and goes. And look they didnt need to pretend to be a gangster and stab any one like the youth of today seems to enjoy doing..Great video thanks for posting it.

  • Black British soul...what ever happened to it? Black and British was "in" at one time

  • @WELLBRAN true, loved princess too ;-)

  • atat de romantic!o oda a dragostei!5***

  • their voices are really amazing! Great song!

  • from a hair perspective, Jaki was our Brit version of Chakka Khan!

  • @VALlewellyn yes i see, not only that she reminds me of Brenda Russell & Donna summer.

  • This should have been big in the States they were one of the best duets ever.

  • I used to fancy David Grant! Is that Jaki;s hair?

  • Great duet ,i forgot just how good this sounds..

makes me wanna go back to the 80s

  • The Breaking Away CD is getting a Re-Release on the 23rd of August 2010 with 5 bonus tracks, thanks to Cherry Pop Records, can't wait.

  • Wow!!!

  • It's one of the most beautiful love songs of the eighties.

  • looove this song!! i had no idea it was written by todd rundgren!! now i no why i love it soo much!

    xx

  • Todd Rundgren and Jaki Graham what a combination. Good eighties memories. Thanks Jaki.

  • total classic , great memories, thanks...

  • WOW....this was the choon!

  • Really great song- Jaki Graham just rocks. Reminds me of a really bad break up of a relationship in my life that I got over, eventually, and I still love the song.

  • This song has Todd Rundgren written all over it! He wrote this song. Such a great song

  • Meenya naravista

  • Jaki is such a good singer, listen how she can hold a note, pure and with perfect pitch. Not like the Beyonces and Rihannas of today who sound like they're practicing scales.

  • isn't he the bloke from fame acadamy?

  • God... i can see all all my life back in the 80's with this song... thank god YT exists... if only i could turn back time once again... how i miss the 80's...

  • Jaki Graham is very good, her voice is so pure

  • Ive got this on streetsounds 16 (i think it is 16) and now my 18 month and 3 year old love him on Carrie and David pop shop!! Good days, good days................

  • ACTUALLY,he's married to Carrie, and he was best man at my aunt's wedding. nice shoulder pads, man! (natch! mine were bigger!)lol

  • i did'nt realize how good this song was!.......

  • both beautiful singers.

  • Songs like this remember me of the times of puppylove and when life was still simple. Music aint the same anymore nowadays :(

  • brilliant tune.

  • BTW, you do realise that David has a career as a vocal teacher, along with his wife Jackie? They did the training for 'Popstars' and 'Pop Idol' etc. She had bright red hair then. They had a fair bit of screen time, but it did take me a few weeks to place him as David Grant. Just noticed no one had mentioned that on here. He still looked gorgeous! Anyone just clicked that's where they've seen him in the last few years? *grin*

  • I met David in about 1989 (I think) Totally lovely man! I treasure the photo my friend took of the 2 of us together. He was gorgeous both outside and in. Bless you David!

  • Thanks everyone for all the great comments about Jaki and the 80's. Sorry I have not thanked you all before now.

I love Jaki. Try and catch her live sometime, shes great fun.

( I used to be weechookeyburdie until I forgot which email I signed up on !)

  • hi all. im the guy with the quiff(45 years old now...ha ha ). watching this again is touching...they were great days. we were a dance group called unknown quantity and met david at caister, he invited us to be in his videos. we did four in all.this one, could it be im falling in love, set me free and two others that were not hits for him...WOW how time has flown by...still it was fun

  • I bet it must have been a great time! Back in '86 I was in kindergarten, but I loved listening to music like this, I watched videoclips all the time that my parents had taped! Today I wish I was in my twenties in the 80's, I would have apreciated it even more! This is in fact one my favorite duets!

  • That's cool !!!

Time has flown by....but this can never be taken away from you.

    take care...Regards.

  • Wow lucky you. The 80 was a great time for Disco's. Danced to this with the wife. Still married have been for the last twenty nine years. They were great times. Thanks for posting enjoyed the background information to the video.

  • A forgotten classic! Loved this and their other one

  • One of the best duet combanations of the mid 1980's!!! I love this song from oct/nov 1985!!! It is so classy, and jaki and david seem to be singing so in harmony together, what bliss to listen to!!! Lucky peole who hear this song!!! Benja :-)

  • I totally agree - you could listen to this over and over again and would not get fed up of it.

Jaki Graham had such a great voice but it is sad because you do not hear alot of her music on commercial radio these days.

  • Weren't we lucky to live in the 80s.

When you listen to songs like this , which was one of my favourites at the time , you realise how spoilt we were.

    Classic tune and great vocals.

  • good times

  • They certainly were.

The 80s was a terrific decade for music.

    Great memories.

  • i had this song on my `sony walkman` on a audio tape compiled of songs i recorded off the radio, i was about 12 and this song reminds me of playing footie with my mates, but when they wanted to listen to my headset id always forwarded this song cos they would of ripped me to shreds lol yes i was ashamed for liking this song but now it still sounds great i dont care haha memories (sighs)

  • I was only 12 years old in 1985 and never heard this song by them until now. I'll be 36 in July and can't stop listening to this song! Such a soul classic. I'm not British so I assume this song did not get played in the U.S. Thank's for posting it.

  • Song from '85. Unforgottable '80's ... If only I could turn back time (((sigh)))

  • Jaki can still sing as i saw guest with Michael McDonald last year in Manchester - she sang Patti LaBelle's parts of On My Own to perfection. The hair is less big but the voice is as massive as ever! Love Todd Rundgren for the song too!

  • i love this song

    37 and nostalgic

xxx love 2 u all xx

  • Jaki's voice is very uplifting and relaxing at the same time.

  • Nice track.

It's obvious the boy Grant's not in the same league as Jaki as a singer.

  • jaki graham, great voice!

  • David Grant was thin as a bean pole back then!

  • This song is so amazing!

  • david and jaki , recorded this song yesterday...........still sounds great !
