***It is important to me,for MY"Mother's Story"to be explained the best I can, having to post more than once. For reasons shared, & as a result, unfortunately,I myself have missed out on ALOT in life & even love.I wish you,Maria,& all of the loving mother's of the world a very Happy Mother's Day & Thank You for the opportunity to share alittle bit.It is refreshing to talk/write/think about it/her.I dearly love & miss her. Sincerely,Carol of Nashville,TN
With the impotance of my mother's "story,"I've posted more than once for Mental Illness,Batterred Womens Syndrome & My Mom not only deserve it but is required,& I would love nothing more than to write a book for they need to be further understood. My mother tried her best with what she knew to mother us 5 girls. For a so called man & mental illness to take & destroy her entire being is a great loss for myself & the entire world. -What could have & should have been...
Again,I am so sorry for your loss,& thank you for caring. My mother sufferred from Mental Illness throughout her life progressing with age it seemed. She literally came from "The Hills"of Tennessee, lacking education, money, certain understanding of social America,w/out attention/closeness from her mom,she did not know how to love but starved to be,aquiring it in unacceptable ways. Not until I came to understand mental illness was I able to accept her & love her.She was MY mom,I miss her dearly.
I'm sorry for your loss.I had'nt known heartache as such until I lost my mother 3 yrs ago, being the greatest loss of my life.My fondest memories of her come from being a lilltle girl in the few years after she re married. The"normal years"for she & I.Their relatonship grew disfunctional, she was a batterred woman, then mentally ill.Embarrassed by countless actions of hers,no longer claimed her as my mom.Changing as I became understanding of mental illness.I miss & love my mother.
Hi Maria, Isn't mothering or fathering the same thing? It's about loving and nurturing, teaching and helping, listening and ...... loving again. :) Happy Mothers Day to you too! Goodlooking kids by the way, just like their parents. :)
Odd as this may sound, Marc Allen (owner of New World Library, a publishing company) has most recently and most profoundly mothered me. It's too deep a story to share, but he cared enough to reach out and pull me up from the inner-turmoil I've been dealing with for a very long time. It's amazing how one person who takes the time to listen and respond can change the world of another, but this was the case for me from Marc. I am blessed. Happy Mother's Day. Rita
Thank you for this personal video. I am truly grateful for my mother. She has 10 children of her own. She was widowed at 43 but adopted a special needs child & later 4 more children who needed a home. My mom lives on a little farm outside of Moab, Utah and continues to nurture and love everyone around her. I am also grateful for your mother and the values she stood for & the legacy she left here upon this earth. She truly lives on and is loved by millions of people.
