Sir, I thank you for this showcase. To be honest, I am an avid Spidey user but I'm having problems on how to get in toe-to-toe against my opponents. If I'm not in luck, every time I dash forward, air dash (swing), web-swing or web zip, I oftentimes get blocked, countered or hammered (by She-Hulk's long legs, Wolverine's spam of crouching attacks or whatnot). Any advice on how to enter with Spidey? Thanks in advance!

Do you think that Thor and Spider-man could work well on a team? They are my two best characters but I haven't found a good third character that works well for both of them.

@supernovajm It may be best to have a character with a good assist to help you get in close, Thor is the slowest character in the game with bad matchups so he needs some backup incase his normals get blocked, Captain America's Charging star is useful if Thor needs to bust through projectiles or if he gets blocked Cap will push his oponent away from him. Bare in mind cap America is also a bit slow with no airdash, double jump or otg.

I love how they made Spider-Man's fighting style similar to what you'd see in the comics or cartoons. The only issue I have is the smallish window they give you to activate spider bite after spider sting.

Right at the beginning, when you knock Sentinel up with S, how'd you cancel right into his H web throw? One of the few things I'm still trying to figure out.

Sorry I'm late!

It's a trick listed in the strategy guide -- after landing standing S, normally web throw cannot come out, but you can do web throw H by jump cancelling.

After doing the webthrow motion (half circle back), continue moving the directional pad to the up-back position and press the H button. In other words, do F->DF->D->DB->B->UB + H button. The first frames of jumping (can't see it) immediately cancels into webthrow.

only works on Sentinel and sometimes Tron. Might work on other really big characters like Hulk, but I never really tried it. For everyone else, you need a tracking assist like Doom missles, or a long lasting projectile assist like Sentinel drones

Nice video! Spidey's alot tougher to use in this game than you'd think by looking at him. I'll have to hit up training mode to get some of those combos down tight.

I play on the SSF4 version of the MadCatz TE Stick

.....but honestly, the ONLY reason I use stick is because last year I wanted to try and get good for the next time I come back to Japan and get to play Virtua Fighter in the arcades again (and not get murked like I never played the game before like what happened a few years back)

Otherwise, I'd be a pad player all the way.I still could be if I wanted to; the type of controller a person uses has nothing to do with how good u are to me

Nice video, but during that second combo against hulk, how do you get that webzip to connect?? If i just do a normal one, he zips too low to continue the combo but if i try to webzip up, it wont combo. It seems like you somehow got the webzip to move him upwards, how so??

If I understand the question correctly, it should be like this: in the air, Spidey has two types of webziplines: normal/downwards (Sp+Atk) and diagnonally upwards (up-forward Sp+Atk). I used the second kind.

for it to connect, there is a specific timing that I still haven't given enough time with the game to explain thoroughly - from what I understand, its the positioning between the two characters that determines if it connects. Manipulate that by timing your attacks.

I haven't tested it too much, but I think the air-webzip-combo-thing depends more on air positioning than hitbox size...watch what moves you do and how it affects your opponent

There could be. Spidey can be very damaging on his own, I don't know if people realize this or not. The problem is, there is a very limited set of moves that still connect later on in combos.

I have to test his combos out more fully to give you a definitive answer, but I think it is possible
