  • Please clear me, if a batsman is out then the ball will be declared dead automatically and another batsman cannot be out in a deal ball. Am I missing here something?

  • @newbedfordsox In the first place the keeper was holding onto the ball, trying to work out who they could run out. One of the batters may have been scoring lots of runs so they wanted to get him. So he threw it to the other end to get him out, but to make sure they'd at least get one wicket, they threw it back to the keeper. So they ran both ends out but only the first wicket counts and it's dead after that.

  • @mindscat hii

  • @newbedfordsox Yes, you are correct, however the decision of 'out' was not given because the umpire wished to use the video review, therefore the ball was still 'live' for them to attempt the second runout - once it was confirmed by the third umpire that it was out, then anything subsequent to that is redundant because the ball is then classed as dead. It's just that in TV cricket the umpire doesn't need to give an instant decision, so play can continue, then later they go back and review.

  • lol

  • Now hold on wheres this double run out? I can not see the wicket keeper actually hit the bails or stumps he goes for it then stops and throws it at the bowler?

  • Guys just hear the commentary.

Kumar wanted the better batsmen out so he threw it to murali who took of the stumpsbut was not sure if the guy was out or not so he threw it back to the other end just to make sure they get atleast one wicket,

yes the ball is not dead after it hits the stumps but is dead after one guy gets out.

  • Yes they both were out....

  • HEY ANY1 ??? DID THEY REALLY ACCEPTED IT AS TWO RUN OUTS ??? PLZ ANSWER

  • @freestyldiver nah mate there are never double plays in cricket. the first batsman up the other end was the one to be dismissed. but they were not sure if they got him out so they tried at the other end. at the end of that play only one batsman can be out not two.

  • @freestyldiver No, they can't do that!

  • what did erock800713 say ?

  • It's simple, the wicket keeper throw the ball back to the bowler to try and go for the better batsman's wicket, but he wasn't sure if he was actually out, so just to make sure they actually got a wicket out of it, he threw the ball back to the wicketkeeper to break the stumps on that side, where the batsman was clearly a long way off.

  • Clever cricket

  • Two batsman can not out in one ball. Not the rule.

  • @druboful0 It definitely is possible.

  • Pakistan Sucks!!!!!!!!!!

  • @sdarshan64 This isn't the Pakistani team dumbass, its some all star game.

  • Someone who posted this video either knows nothing about cricket or is a noob

  • you cant get two batsmen out with one ball... as soon as the bails come off in a run out appeal, the ball goes dead.

  • @bloggulator Actually, that's not true - if the batsman is not out, the ball is still live so had the first batsman made his ground the second would still have been out.

  • @villafan001 No it isn't you dumb fuck. Breaking of the bails automatically indicates a dead ball.

  • @sugarydonkey No, I'm afraid you're mistaken, breaking the wicket does not render the ball dead under Law 23 - that is why, for example, if the fielder throws the ball at the stumps and hits but the batsman is safe and the balls ricochets to the boundary, it's a 4, and also if the fielding side attempt a run out and hit the stumps but the batsman is safe then they attempt another run, they can still be run out (even at the same end).

By the way, I'm not a 'dumb fuck'. I'm a cricket umpire.

  • @villafan001 --- If you are an umpire you woudn't be blogging every day and night.

You are just a joker who can google the information online.

You know what... Law 23 speaks about "Long Stop" fielder and not dead ball.

Balls to you UMPIRE.... shame on you.

  • @indiansnipper Firstly, I don't blog every day and night - in fact, I don't blog at all. Secondly, since Law 23 is titled 'Dead Ball', I think I was justified in citing it - for the record, there is no law regarding the long stop and nor can I see any reason why there would need to be.

And yes, I could google the information online. But I'd rather learn it.

  • @villafan001

I don't get you. Do you mean that if the batsmen are safe and not attempting another run and yet the fielder hits the stump and the ball reaches the boundary, it's a four?

  • @whotube88 Yes - it's a four plus whatever runs the batsmen had completed before the throw, plus the one they are on if they have crossed - in fact, it's happened before in the Ashes:

  • @villafan001

I see! Yeah, I meant, four plus whatever the runs they have completed. That's interesting. Thanks a lot.

  • @whotube88 Yes - it's a four plus whatever runs the batsmen had completed before the throw, plus the one they are on if they have crossed - in fact, it's happened before in the Ashes - search 'seven runs one ball' on Youtube.

  • @villafan001 dumb bitch

  • @PureAgainBOF3 How very eloquent.

  • @villafan001 dumb fuck

  • @villafan001 It worries me that a cricket umpire doesn't know that as soon as a player is out, the ball is dead. It is not possible *at all* to get two players out from one delivery. What's happening in this video is that they're breaking both ends to guarantee that they get one of them out.

Law 23.1(a)(iii) says the ball becomes dead as soon as a batsman is dismissed. Therefore it is not possible for both batsmen to be dimissed off the same ball. It has nothing to do with breaking the wicket.

  • @yottskry12 If you'd taken the time to actually read the thread that my latest comment was part of you would appreciate that I was perfectly aware of that - the point I was making is that assuming the batsman is NOT OUT, the ball is still live to attempt the second run out, contrary to someone who suggested the ball was dead after the first run out attempt.

  • @villafan001 I apologise. I hadn't read the whole thread (there was too much of it), and your post came at the top, which is why I replied to it.

  • @villafan001 ive never seen this b4, id love to know what the correct decision is...

Ill have a wild guess that 2 batsmen cant be out in the same instance, please tell me if im right, or as i fear talking bolox :O)

  • @stonersid You're quite right, yes.

  • @stonersid As soon as a wicket falls, it's a dead ball so only the first run out counts as a wicket.

  • @stonersid The first batsmam was given out . .

  • @villafan001 DUMB FUCK!!!! LMFAO!!!!!

  • @bombs347 Sorry, and you are...?

  • @sugarydonkey .. are u serious mate... so if the bails are broken i can keep running all day? or only be run out at one end? once the bails are broken at one end according to your 'own personal rule book" then ill just put both batsmen in thecrease at one end and the batsmen can take turns running to the end where the bails are broken and noone will get out....lol u idiot.. ofcourse they can still be run out... mate uve called another person a dumb fuck and u dont even know the rules... FAIL!!!!

  • @Mopstylz shut up your making a dick of yourself. If the bails are broken and for what ever reason the batters are still running to take the wicket u must hold the ball against a stump and remove the stump from the ground.. If the batter is not in his crease its out. Must we explain to you what a ball is or stumps?

  • @Stagtatstic haha ur the idiot mate... lol i was being sarcastic.. and im actually a cricket umpire smart ass... u clearly didnt read wat i was replying at... go back and read it then read wat i said.. and then u can feel like a dick! . absolute w*nker!

  • @Mopstylz why are there so many proud cricket umpires here? you must pull all the ladies with that number and of course your sarcastic sense of humour!

  • @Stagtatstic .. i see how u read it and u were taking it that i was asking the question as if i didnt know.. i was asking him the question sarcastically... read wat he said and ull understand...

  • @Stagtatstic Or, of course, you could remake the wicket by replacing the bails and/or putting the stumps back into the ground and then break it again - and I would forward that the reason that there are 'so many' (I counted 2) cricket umpires commenting on this video is that it's a cricket video - strange coincidence really.

  • @villafan001 where is your 3rd Ump?

  • @Stagtatstic Come now, I'm sure we won't need to review any of our decisions...

  • new zealand to win the world cup

  • Friends w keeper waited for better batsman to cross the other one. then he threw ball towards non striker end and got him out.

  • WERE BOTH GIVEN OUT ?

  • Comment removed

  • @PennydalePalace are u serious ?? it was out his foot was in the air

  • The ball isnt always dead with the first wicket.

The ball is dead when its fielded and dead.

The non-striker might be signalled to be out, while the ball is in flight, but if its then caught, the striker is out, and the non-striker survives.

The reason this video does not show two out, is that very often two batsmen are at the same end, and very often the fielders are blocking his way - the other batsmen has to get out of the way of the fielders, so he's not expected to make it back...

  • @ Volvoxii: yes, the instant a batsman is dismissed the ball becomes dead (Law 23 of the Laws of Cricket)

  • they get out the first one, but since it was very close and may be not out or sent to third empire therefore they removed the stumps of 2nd to get out in case first is not out.

  • No, as soon as the catch is good there can be no run-out.

  • the only something like this is possible is if a catch and runout are at the exact same time

  • I thought once someone got out, the ball goes dead...

  • was this valid?? were the two wickets given at a time????????? please reply

  • @narayana3590030

I would doubt it was. Ruling is, as soon as there is one wicket, the ball is considered dead, so anything that happens there after is not valid.

  • @narayana3590030 o.k so they had an opportunity of a run out at one end, but wanted to get out the better batsmen at the other end so threw it to there. But they were then worried they had messed this up and so to make sure of a wicket they threw it back to the first end and tried to get out the other one. However because the first guy was outside of his crease he was given out making the secong run out void.

  • this vidio

  • in run out only 1 batsman can get out officially right not 2?

  • @mustafabinumar

In any kind of OUT only one batsman can get out.

  • wow...brave thing to do.It could have gone all wrong if murali miss the ball...

Then it will be a such a embrazing moment,

Hats off to sanga to act wisely in that situvation.

  • @realizationable sangakkara was the wicket keeper i believe..otherwise all gd

  • thats smart cricket

  • what happened to the bat?

  • @realhindumadrid oye teri maa ka thoku hai inzi

  • yeh u cant get 2 batsman out at once they only done that cause they didnt know if that guy was in or not so they chucked the ball 2 the other end 2 make sure loloolol

  • fool just one run out

  • America plays cricket now?

  • this is crap

  • inzamam that fat pig realy cant run

  • safe cuz

  • some teams like bangladesh can do only 1 run out........

  • one team is pakistan and the other americans..cant believe it

  • @ravirocky7388 the players in blue are from srilanka and the players in green are from kenya...you dumpass !!! #LOL

  • it is afro-asia cup match being played .the match is between asia xi and africa xi.the batsman being run out is justin kemp.keeper is sangakara

  • @johnrox2311 thankz john..but many of them giving different answers..but i think u r rite

  • Idiot Americans. They took out Inzamam-ul-haq because he is a world class batsman. Then they just played and took out the other side in case the first one made it inside the line. You cant get two batsmen in one ball. Its cricket not baseball...

  • wow an excellent presence both r definetly out....

  • Nice presence of mind. I heard hat it was both out.

  • two run outs waaaa seems like rules are changing everyday....NOT

  • where the hell is his bat???

  • It's a dead ball as soon as the first one is out, therefore the other one can't be run out.

  • Idiots. . . . .. the bails are never removed on the first set of stumps. . . They threw to the other end to get the better of the two batsmen out. . .

  • @erock800713

    Exactly

  • @erock800713 Just curious: so there is no such thing as a double play in Cricket? That would be cool if you could get two wickets in one bowl.

  • @erock800713 yeh and then he threw it back Again and got the other one out

  • @erock800713 see last couple of seconds of video wickets@keeper end were also distroyed.

  • @erock800713 you're the idiot, murali threw it back after he ran the better batsman out to make sure...

    fuck

  • @erock800713 r u stupid

  • @erock800713 can you even spell cricket? Watch the entire video....what a dumbfuck motherfucker....always criticizing others....geez...you're a big pussy...

  • @erock800713 r u metally handicapped watch the whole thing

  • @erock800713 R U MENTALLY HANDICAPPED? WATCH THE WHOLE THING

  • @erock800713 Yes they were..........right at the end if you keep watching.

  • @erock800713 He is right! for example guy who got taken out 1st was Tandulkar(right stumps), guy who was runout last was Harbhajan(left stumps).. Who would you rather take out..??

  • @Cartyy ...those were pakistanis... jus' sayin'

  • @erock800713 idiot watch the whole video

  • @Penissniffer what are you talking about you pillock

  • @erock800713

You stupid fucktard. Watch the whole video.

  • @erock800713 Clap Clap for the Handicap!

  • @erock800713 THEY are definitely not idiots. If you've actually seen the entire video, you'll notice that at the end they get the second batsman as well.

  • @erock800713 you idiot, the bowler after dismissing the 'better' batsman out, threw it back t the keeper to get even the other one out. but that, of course, is not going to count..

  • @erock800713 At the end of the vid he throws it back to the other end to run out the other guy aswell

  • amazing

  • I think they threw the ball down the other end just in case the first one wasn't out,

  • i know u cant get em both out at a time

    but good attempt though

    lolz

  • after the 1st wicket; its a dead ball...

  • Naa u cant run out 2 playerz at same time...itz rule! if u dont know that then learn bout it!

  • I wish america was as cool

  • @SlinkROPG well its not so live with with it

  • very clever piece of feilding by the Lankans.

  • Lol

  • haha

  • no you cant, its not like baseball where you can get a double play. As soon as the first wicket falls, it is a dead ball

  • wrong.

  • Are you for real man ??

  • @xXxTonkzxXx no you cannot get ehm both out. Shut up tosser.

  • yes you can. If one batsman is stumped and the other one is out of his crease like halfway up the pitch they are within their rights to stump the other aswell

  • I have played cricket for the last six years of my life, and I'm an umpire aswell. You cannot, I repeat, CANNOT get two batsmen out in one ball. If you for example do a similar thing to the Lankans, then the batsman whos bails were removed first, is out. That's it. End of discussion.

  • yeah you are right i was wrong coz i just looked it up but seriously is there any need there any need to be a prick about it because you umpire?

  • sorry, it just shits me when people tell me im wrong about something that I am educated in. Sorry

  • You are a moron. 2 people cannot be given out off of one delivery, Damien PMcC is correct.

  • oh yeah and that dosent make you a prick for replying to something thats already been cleared up

  • @Gummerman and one year on i have returned to tell you, you got epicly trolled

  • @Gummerman Narrrrr get fucked

  • Oh got Ireland LOL!!!

  • i dont get why the wicket keeper didnt just quickly took the bails off in the first place? there would have been no difference lol
