I firmly believe Coach Z was the victim of creator backlash.
Before they started making him about ten times grosser, alot of people thought he was cool, which wasn't the creators intention, so they made him all creepy and disgusting. (And then there is Strong Bad singing: Coach Z, is not that cool, here comes an email!)
I liked the earlier less excessive Coach Z. I liked THIS Coach Z
