Nice review. Though at 2:45 was it by choice or chance that the music is a variation on what a very old news review of the arcade game Death Race used?
i play something like that as a child, but we used pen.
put the tip of the pen and "flick" it, so it will make a track. if the track transpassa awall, you have to stop. also, we draw holes and such , so if you fall, you loose your turn.
it was very fun, so i bet this game should be too!
here in Serbia, kids used to play what we called 1,2,3 Game. We would draw the course first - with the mines, parkings, pithfalls, or even use the terrain itself. The simpy take same toy cars, and do as much movement and manouvering in just 3 touches / pushes. Pushing people off the track could be prohibited or allowed depending on players.
I played the same kind of games in my basement with matchbox cars.... I think it's actually amazing how many games kids make up, and how close they actually are to the each others creations.
Each the world is actually quite small.. we all aren't all that different. :D You can see that especially on kids untainted by national, political and religious beliefs.
Another fine episode. Melody didn't say much, but she's obviously very happy and enthusiastic about the game, and that sold me on it as much as your excellent review.

@rossik We played a similar game, but it was sailing ships, and the cannon shots were the pen flicks.
