i can tell its yin, aside from it being titled as such. if you think you walk a circle while fighting, then all i can say is best of luck to you with that.
Yeah, the third app sucks, if blue bends his elbow into blacks head and deflects his groin stike either way, black is set up for a head throw. This is not bagua in its full, its like basic, bagua for kids to beat up girls and old lady's hahaha.
The applications need to be peform a lot more practical and lower stance work need to be so open, lower stance play is way to open for counterattacks in my opinion. All a attacker have to do is kick the defenderin the balls because his stance is far to open most of the time.
I agree with pikeamus, I also thought app 2 was a little open for a follow-up with the left hand. These are only demos of apps and don't show the flow that Bagua has through multiple attacks. thanks for the video.
The thing I do not understand is, while in form, bagua is very very circular, while these applications are very straight with a side step in the beginning?
Taiji appears very soft in form, but can seem very hard in application. The walking steps are primarily to promote root and balance, agility and flexibility in footwork. The steps are also a way to avoid a very yang attack, like a very hard and fast punch, and a way to disorient the opponent in fighting. Circular steps are used in fighting at a high stage, when the fighter can step very quickly with root and power.
Is the third application not a little risky? When you go inside like that and rely on a strike to prevent follow up attacks you're wide open if you miss. Some of the other applications use similar tactics but seem more reasonable because of better positioning and cover.
