where you rank on a fucking beauty site has no bearing on what you win....this was a sham award where a bunch of overly nationalistic filipinos felt that they had to give their boring contestant some source of recognition, she didnt deserve any of it. she was a boring contestant with a horrible catwalk and a boring evening gown. Miss Philippine 1999 was beautiful but not anna.
She almost made the cut. She was rank 16 according to the press. Our this year's candidate was rank 17. The only problem is that Filipinos got a bunch of insecure and prejudiced people like you.
There was news and gossip in Mexico that she made the actual top 15, but she and a few other girls were replaced for business/political/bias reasons. Licaros was a strong candidate and liked in Mexico, reports said she was top 25 in swimsuits, top 20 in gown and top 8 in interview, which is why she did make the top 15.
I actually have heard about these stories a couple of times before. Many people think that this pageant is indeed filled with so much controversies. They say that some girls, including Miss Philippines 2000 and 2007, were robbed out of their positions in the semi-finals for economic/political reasons. Well, sad to say though, we'll never know if these stories were true. But despite of which, I still love watching it every year.

There was news and gossip in Mexico that she made the actual top 15, but she and a few other girls were replaced for business/political/bias reasons. Licaros was a strong candidate and liked in Mexico, reports said she was top 25 in swimsuits, top 20 in gown and top 8 in interview, which is why she did make the top 15.

I actually have heard about these stories a couple of times before. Many people think that this pageant is indeed filled with so much controversies. They say that some girls, including Miss Philippines 2000 and 2007, were robbed out of their positions in the semi-finals for economic/political reasons. Well, sad to say though, we'll never know if these stories were true. But despite of which, I still love watching it every year.

those are just "stories" you've just heared from you don't even know who... baka sa mga ghosts... but this is the FACT: she ranked 67 last 2007, the lowest ranking of a Miss Philippines to Miss Universe... source: MUO, every year they send mails to the pageant organizers of all the participating countries of the Miss Universe, may mail ang BPCI from MUO every year, Jennifer Barrientos ranked 17 last year, INDIA was 16th....and that's the truth!

that wasnt even true!!! their preliminary scores weren't even released to the press even silang mga candidates mismo and the BPCI dint know what anna's scores were....mga gawa gawa lang yang storyang yan ng mga patriotic at nag bibitter bitterang mga Filipinong baklang mahilig sa pagaents! Eto ang totoo, si Jennifer Barrientos placed 17 during the prelims, the scores were given to the local pageant directors and the press, pero yung kay Licaros kwentong barbero at kutsero lang yun!

Miriam was Robbed..but Teresa???!!!! she really doesnt have a chance to be in the top 15 during MU '07!!! her pasarella is awful!!! her hair, makeup, style, fashion sense, body!!! thank god at may utak cya, kahit papano umangat ang scores nya, but still not enough to be in the top 15!!! mayabang na, suplada pa at hindi marunong makisama!!! plastik pa!!!

Well, I think someone just got insecured here. FYI, our country (the Phil.) has produced 2 Miss Universe & 4 Miss International titleholoders. Not to mention our numerous runners up and semifinalists from all beauty pageants.
So don't imply that we only win because of text votes or through email, our contestants have always been consistent winners even before cellphones or email were invented.

I knew she wouldn't make it into the semifinals, I've read through her interviews, and she wasn't impressive at all. She was articulate and fluent, but her answers were vague and shallow. Different from Precious Lara who showed true depth in her answers. Just my opinion.
