  • elixir!!!!!

  • is that a modded strat cuz I'm Modding my harmony start

  • is that a seymour duncan invader pickup?

  • you sound like jason newstead a tiny bit :)

  • hi, do you need to do all that cutting away at the body stuff or can you avoid that?? ha, excuse my noobness

  • chode candle

  • whoooohoooo what a fucking big candle lmfao

  • 04:31, CAMERA PUNCH!

  • I don't know that this shows you how to actually "install" a Floyd. But it does show how to put one back in a guitar it was just removed from. But this is a pretty good video for how to string one up.

  • Hello, thats really help. I have a floyd rose set up to my Strat, problem is how to lower the string close to the fretboard since floyd rose increase the string distance without routing my strat body. Thx

  • The word 'candle' seems inadequate somehow. How about 'flaming column of molten wax'?

  • Thanks so much, this video helped me a lot!

  • Is that duct tape on that guitar?

  • I've been playing a long time but never had a FR. Thanks for covering all the basics.

  • This saved me from spending $300 to get installed at my local music shop

  • is that stratocaster???

  • No kidding, one of the better tutorials for this.

  • wow floyd rose's are relay nice, i'm going to have to get one

  • 10 people dont hav a big ass candle lol :p

  • Dude that is a really smart Idea about the string method. Im going to try this on my strat and install an OFR on it.

  • i love it 5150 guitar and im watching this to build mine haha

  • 4:25 "this right here is a low b string"

    *punches camera*

  • did it just pop in or did you mod sorry I have no sound on my computer

  • is that duct tape on your guitar?

  • I purchased an original floyd rose bridge for 50 bucks... but it only came with the bridge iteself... what else will i need to purchase for the system to be complete?

  • @igouroum you need to buy the locking nut at the headstock end of the guitar.

  • thanks alot man. great help

  • hahahaha nice and the candle is the shit hahahaha

  • The candle had made my day. At least, it's worth it!

  • I like the way you punched the camera x)

    Thanks man !

  • so make sure ttheres no dirt and then get a candle... BOOMM. worlds biggeest fucking candle, i laughed really hard i wasnt expecting tht lmao. great vid tho helped me alot ;D

  • ummmmmmm...

that didnt help those of us who own a strat. most guitars routed for a floyd, have one already. try a vid for a sratocaster (and if you dont have one yet, the bullet strat is a good hotrod guitar for 120$)

  • dude why did you did that to your guitar i mean tape all over it and painting the headstok there are some shit you just dont do

  • @narutosaenz i guess he's going for the frankenstien look. eddie painted the body after applying the tape, removed the tape, and the stripes remained. this guy just covered his guitar in tape. p.s. it looks retarded

  • do you need to add a new nut with a floyd or can you use a normal strat nut?

  • @projectz975 you dont NEED to use a floyd nut, but the system will be less effective at staying in tune without the locking nut.

  • Yeah the wax is a waste of time. There is no way any soft substance could remain between a knife edge and a post under that much compression - impossible. It will just squeeze out either side.

  • invader pickups?

  • Is this a Floyd Rose Original, or the FR Pro?

  • woooooooooooooo big ass cadle xD

  • doom! ..what a candle..hahaa..

  • 4:29 HOLY FUCK That scared me

  • 4:29 HOLY FUCK

  • I hve a prs custom, love the guitar but I want to get the Floyd rose like he has but I am not sure if I am able to install it on my prs can sum1 help me on my question?

  • evh wud be ashamed

  • This was a huge help to my project. Thanks

  • i am thinking about getting a les paul kit, and would like a floyd rose style tremolo to replace the normal bridge it comes from. can i if you know add a floyd rose or similar to the les paul kit without needing to remod the entire body/neck? good vid!

  • at first those strings looked like a pack or condoms

  • I need some help here, I want to install a floyd rose on my kramer pacer. I dont know where to buy it. Can someone please send me a link. Thanks

  • so you can only go down pitches not up.... thats not really what everyone wants to know dude. i think more than 50 percent of the viewers wanted to see a floating tremelo. everyone and their babies could figure out our to switch a bridge

  • @cmstricker67 if you want to see a floating trem...watch a vid with an ibanez rg or esp kh2 or something. its really not much different exept for the bigger hole for pulling up on the bar...

  • WHAT DO YOU DO IF YOU WANT A FLOATING TREMOLO? THATS WHY I WATCHED THIS VIDEO TO LEARN THAT! Im going to build my own guitar and I want a Strat body but a floating trem.

  • @42blackhawks- You'd need a back routed body. Question is, do you really want a floating floyd? Harder to tune, and you can still only pull up a little bit. Just saying, and non floating floyd is pretty cool :\

  • @42blackhawks u need to make a certain size and shaped hole for that. go take some dimensions of a guitar at your local dealer or something. study the difference between trems and bridges.

  • Im putting a a floyd on my strat and i wanted to know if you had any problems intalling it? And i do have to comment that thats a big ass candle lol

  • the candle is the sercet to evh guitar playing ;lol

  • Comment removed

  • that's a big-ass candle.. @_@

  • why did you punch the camera it makes me wanna punch you

  • this looks like a frankenstein replica...

    really cool vid.

  • @RobinsReloaded its a failed attempt

  • Burts Bees chapstick is the best I've found, but a regular candle will do the trick and be much better than a naked joint.

  • friend... you need to learn houw to put the strings... cause... you are donig it wrong...

  • @juan911226 i prefer his way and I know alot of techs that leave the ball on and string backwards, theres nothing incorrect about what he's doing

  • @Jackson1010 i do it too. but in a slightly different way. it saves me from replacing strings all the time

  • lol 4:29

    Punch the camera

  • thats smart as hell id let to put a floyd on my sg im not shure how to do it with a stright brigde the mayby alot of sutting and sanding on the guitat lol

  • @thesefinaldays1 SGs are too thin bodied for a proper Floyd install. Best you can do for a floating trem is a Kahler, which are quality trems no matter what others would have you believe. Ive had both systems. My "Floyds" are Kahler made and then I have two cam-based Kahlers. You will need a cam-based for an SG.

  • you didnt have to get the floyd cavity milled out or anything? you just took the strat type bridge and replaced it?

  • Get it all 200 bucks floyd rose bridge and nut $200 at beyondeleven com sign up for member discounts

  • will this bridge fit into a standard esp m50?

  • u cant pull it back

  • lmfao, and you get, THE WORLDS LARGEST CANDLE.

  • can you install a floyd rose to a behringer metalien?

  • @sbtrackrunner im sure u can...but i think ive seen a FR on a Metalien on a website somewhere..

  • @sbtrackrunner u can buy one with it...its called iaxe629 ma

  • hey every one check out the super-vee tremolo it is easier to install than the floyd rose. There is NO MODIFACATIONS TO YOUR GUITAR!

  • Comment removed

  • @AdrenalineOfficial ebay i think......

  • Where can i buy those candles and Duck tape?

  • WHERE DO U GET FLOYD ROSES??

  • @AdrenalineOfficial You can get them at allparts.com.

  • @JadAWESOME210 lol thanks for the respond but kinda late i already got one, but thanks

  • Lol u duck taped it

  • if it's resting against the body, can you still pull it back?

  • dude that candle is freaking hilarious. So big. But works. LOL

  • @journeyquest1 - Of course its a fucking EVH guitar, didnt you see the design, and the 5150 at the bottom left? I'm making a EVH sort of guitar.

  • I thought you were going to show us how to route the body and neck to install the system.

  • Dude, is that supposed to be a EVH guitar? You need an explorer type neck with a maple fretboard. Is that duct tape on there? Oh ya, you need to beat it with a hammer a few times if you want an EVH original guitar.

  • r u still selling it? What kind of wood is it. what is the pickup?

  • how did u install the floyd on a strat body without routing?

  • This anwsered a bunch of questions for me. Genius about the candle wax.

    Thanks!

    D

  • @mattgsperm because some ppl dont lyk the floyd rose to be floating i my self on al my floyd equiped guitars have the floyd resting on the body not floating

  • @transformersgod Can you still pull up on the strings as well? I'm wondering if it limits you at all...

    thanks,

    D

  • @davetk1969 yes of course not to sound lyk a smart ass but the tremelo is designed to do dagt so yes. haha i hope this helps

  • uhhhhh

  • can you make a vid on how to install just the locking nut?

  • you are a genius your a are incredible you are the BEST

  • Where can I buy a floyd rose?

  • ebay

  • hey nice scalloping did you get a pro to do it or did your guitar come with it?

  • Hey, i have installed my floyd rose without routing a recessed hole for it, the string are to far away from the fret board when other people have installed one without the hole it turned out fine so why are my strings so far away.

  • do you need a hole in the guitar? because u diddent

  • did he really just set the floyd in without routing out a hole

  • wow he made a ghetto van halen guitar with duct tape

  • @leny2321 what?! It's black with silver stripes, painted D:

  • is that a ghetto eddie van halen strat?

  • "pair of strings" lol

  • yo issue man, did u recess the body for the floyd, or did u just put it on the body as is?

  • i have a question i have a dean v and it need wood to be carved out hwo much wouldf it cost to get it carved out and installed by a specialist

  • im ready to get an original floyd rose i have a licensed and it pisses me off. it also pisses me off that guitar companies would sell their customers cheap floyds knowing they wont last. know where i can get an original for cheap?

  • how much would it cost to get a floyd rose on dean vmntx v shaped

  • dude do u have a vid about routing a hole in the guitar to fit the Floyd rose?

  • @elgin619 Do you have to route a hole, also is there anywhere where I can have the pickups and the tremolo system installed for me, because I am confused.

  • Damn, so to put a Floyd Rose on a Flying V, I'd have to route out a hole in the front for the bridge and the back for the springs?

  • BTW if my bridge is floating do i put all 3 springs in or leave the two in since im using drop d?

  • I got elixirs from sam ash for like $17.95 with shipping compared to the $20 plus tax in stores.

  • Can a floyd rose original tremolo system be put on my yamaha eg112c?

  • Thanks buddy but the posts were already in position for a Floyd! What I want to see is when you have the 6 screw mounting on a strat bridge and you want to install the Floyd post, What you are essentially showing is how to restring a Floyd rose in you own quirky way. Good for people who dont know how to restring their instrument but not much good for a proper install! Thanks for trying.

  • DUDE??!! whats the point of having a floyd if yu cant pull back on it and do dime squeals??? then its just a chromatic tremolo like on a standard strat, ohh well you like what you like, nice work tho dude

  • Scalloped frets?

    Am i wrong?

  • can i install a floyd rose at every guitar?

  • yeah but its better to buy it with one already equipped but if you're going to after market install it then the best guitars are Fenders, Dean Vendetta's, or Jackson Dinkys

  • Comment removed

  • do you need the pressure points?

or can you go with out

  • do you need to hav the locking nuts at the top of the neck

im doing the same to a dean stratocaster but i dont wanna cut the body or put any locking nuts on

    Is this possible?

  • if your not going to put the locking nut on dont buy a floyd. Any time u use it the guitar will go right out of tune. Its pretty easy to put the locking nut in just use a chisel if your not experienced with a router. Just take your time with the chisel and dont rush. Its really easy.

  • no its not the floyd rose trems are shaped differently you cant install one without a little bit of routng

  • @MegaJaybee

Yeah i use ibanez licensed floyd on my strat

    Saves spending £200 odd....

  • Is it possible to put a Floyd rose on a Kramer Pacer? please help!

  • whats the point of having a floyd rose on that guitar, its not even routed out for one... u cant bend up. lame.

  • @sgslayer99 thats actually how it was when the floyd rose was first invented, eddy van halen played a big part in making the floyd and when he put it on his guitar for the first time he never routed it (didnt want to or didnt know he could i guess) and hes used it like that ever since, the routing fad became big way after the floyd was released and people realized how rarely it went out of tune, anyway...you can pull back on that if you loosen the springs a bit so when your not....

  • @sgslayer99 ...touching it it hovers about a centimeter or so off the guitar, yea its not as fun as having the guitar routed for it, but on my kramer vanguard (original made in neptune nj model) its not routed so i loosened the springs a bit and now i can do dime squeals and pullups just as easily as i can on my esp alexi blacky custom shop (imported so it looks like a rhoads, not the stupid usa model)

  • wen i re install the floyd, how far should the plate that holds the springsbe???? like in the middle im guessing???? PLEZ REPLY

  • hey man where did you find that floyd rose? i;m looking for a 89' Kramer Floyd Rose. do u know where to find one if not thats cool then. but where did u get that one in the video.

  • yes its possible..expensive....

  • no relly im doing i i just bought a strat for npart for my other project but im buying a floyd set for 20 bucks of ebay

  • good luck with that

  • can be possible to install floyd rose tremolo in my fender squier stratocaster plz reply

  • yes it is possible...why??? get a guitar with one on it

  • great video, im thinking of putting a fr on my flying

  • Hi there

could you tell me how to recognise a real floyd rose from a fake one? I found on ebay some floyd rose for 50$ and some for 200$. But even on the 50$ one it's writtten "licensed under floyd rose pats". Can you help? Thanks

  • a licensed is fake, if its an original floyd rose its the real deal, and a real one will say floyd rose, not licensed

  • Licensed Floyd rose trems are real, made by the company. But there cheaper and not as high of quality as the original FR's, which are mostly made in Germany.

  • im getting one from guitar center fo 70 bucks

  • but how to you change the studs

  • I learned a similar way. I don't clip the strings though, I just work the string back and forth at the point where the string ceases to be wound until it breaks off. Another good thing to do I've found is to fold the tip of the string back before you lock it into the Floyd, it holds better.

  • lube up that pessure point

  • this was what my friend told me about.....reverse-stringing.

  • Thanks for the info!

  • Russia 199999999 yes u need locking nuts or ur guitar will just go out of tune if You like to use the Whammy Bar bro

  • chapstick lip balm is really good for lubricating the knife edges as well rich on ibanez rules does that

  • Will the Floyd fit into the stock trem-bridge rout of most strat-style guitars?

  • yeah but youll have to fill in the holes for the bridge screws and redrill. youll also have to install the locking nut

  • I have a question... the string retainer bar is attached directly to the wood?

  • Yup.

  • I dunno where he heard the candlewax thing...I don't know what that's supposed to do but you want graphite dust or pencil lead if it's more readily available.

  • you are a genius. the string part with the ball? woulda never thought of it.

  • i want a floyd rose but on my guitar, it hasn't got one, do i need to install somthing at the top of the neck aswell as the floyd rose, on mine its just a piece of plastis?

  • Yes. You will need to install a locking nut.

  • do you need LOCK NUTs , for the floyd rose????!!!!!

  • Yes or the guitar will go outta tune.

  • lol... until your string turns to spaghetti again... :P

  • yeah, but how do i innstall a floyd in a mex strat(vintage tremolo)

  • its a royal pain but worth it

  • God that helped a lot, thanks man!

  • my friend the bridge pickup is the seymour duncan invader?

  • is AN YONE sure that i can install a floyd rose into a dean mlx? if so, could i send it in to guitar center and get it installed?

  • dont try it. the MLX has too thin of a body. if youre gonna install it, you have to cut a huge block out of the body. and you need to find a custom cut neck for the locking nut.

  • you dont have to have a custom neck for floyd neck. it can be routed to fit.

  • i have a ML with a Floyd and an ml x without. idk. i wouldn't say its too thin. works for the ML but... for ml x you'd need a lot of routing... i wouldn't recommend it..

  • actually it is best to cut off the ends, becuase using that method wears down the tuners faster and causes way too much pressure locked or not, plus make sure you line up ur twisting of the string around the tuner goes under every rotation, looks cleaner and less pressure on the tuner... trust me ; ) but good job with the candle wax, thats truely a secret among floyd rose users.

  • hey would i be able to install a floyd rose in bc rich mockingbird bronze series
