i'm still not sure how to get other houses to show up while you're building one. like if you're on a lot building a house, how do you get the other houses next door and in the neighborhood to show up? cuz when i make a house it just has an empty expanse of space around it where the other houses should be...

when you've built one floor, if you press the 'up a level' button, go into rooves, auto rooves, and there's an option for flooring. That lays the ceiling for that level, and floor for the next level. You can do that twice, then you need to add the main roof (unless you use cheats to make tons of levels)
