The part of this video, the original movie part taken by A. Fokker in England is of a glider known as "Blaue Maus" designed and manufactured by my father, Wolfgang Klmeperer. Wolfgang was not the pilot of the flight being shown. That was a Brit, whose name I have somewhere in my files. He was the only purchaser of a Blue Mouse coming out of a factory in Aachen, Germany and had to wait long for delivery. He took off, flew, and crashed the landing. Ldg not shown. Never flew again!
There is a good write-up of the 1922 Itford competition in Terence Boughton's book "The Story of the British Light Aeroplane" published by John Murray 1963. These clips bring the story to life.
