I found his detailed rubato reading interesting and different, but I prefer a more rhythmic treatment, as is normal and instinctive in bush poetry. Go to any "Poet's Breakfast" and you'll see what I mean. People respond to the strict rhythm of the "Fourteener" and are delighted by each apt rhyme in it's proper place. Once you lose the rhythm the rhymes no longer stand out and all you're left with is a story. Sure, it's still a good story, but you've lost the music!
