I love your channel. I am a Jamaican, my husband is from Nigeria, we've been together for fourteen years. Before I would go to the African stores asking the owners question on how to cook Nigerian food, or call my sister -in-law in Nigeria asking how to cook Nigerian cuisine. You have helped me so much....BTW my Husband favourite soup is Banga......Do you know how to make it? His sister told me I would have problems finding the recipe here in USA...My family and I thank you for what you do!xx
If you do not have a big pot to steam all your moi moi, especially if you are making a lot or if you are not back home where everyone has at least one massive pot at home, then you can bake them in the oven and they come out just as good!!!!!
@JaneiciaE86 You can wrap it in foil if you like, but you will need to fold the foil pockets properly to ensure you do not have leakage around the edges!!!!! Back home thy use banana leaves as well. If you happen to have loads of empty cans you can use them. I used a small cookie tin once and it was perfect so take your pick and have fun:-)
@marychima You're right, the spices aren't very African, yes too on that blender, it burns the rubber! Am not Nigerian and was so interested in knowing what this is, as someone once saw me making our own bean cake (Olele) and said you have the same, they only saw the first part though, our own is much more different, I hope to soon upload a total video of it.
Oh dear! I don't even know what to say. Excellent video, very well presented, and just the way my mum cooks moi-moi. Things like this make me wanna go back home. Argghhh!!!

That's one of the richest Moi Moi meals I have ever seen, prepared by a pretty cook! :)

trick/tip - add a little evaporated milk to the bean mixture. gives a richer taste.
prefer corn beef, instead of fish and dried shrimp in moi moi.

I've never added thyme & curry powder to moi- moi?
Secondly except the beans is well soaked, blending that amount at once will break the blender.

I normally use Bean flour to prepare Moi Moi, but I think I wil start to soak black eyed peas as I feel taste is more authentic. I LOVE Mois moi :o)
