Why is the flame so big? Because you put the Grand Marinier while 1) Pot was still on the heat. 2) the sound was rumbling while it should simply sizzle a little, then set it on fire, you don't even need the heat on the bottom at that point.
it s awsome the wiev is great everrything i great and u can realy explan everything but i don t think u shut put fire alarm where you make banana flambe. lol
Junior Sous in Chicago Steakhouse at GoldStrike Casino here. We use 151 liquor to flash it when we do out flambe. We do it table side in a pretty dark dining room so everyone loves it. AzNFudgeman you can flash oil if you want, but you'll get the burnt taste, I'd recommend using a liqour though as it will give a wonderful taste, southern comfort does really well too.
Yes, by using LESS THAN a soupspoon of oil instead of butter, heating the oil until a wisp of smoke comes out of it. Throw heated ingredients in and then strike and stir with tongs dipped in water. It's a grease fire, and you can keep it going as long as you keep moving ingredients quickly. For those who use too much oil for this: To quickly snuff an out of control fire, cover pan completely with a wet rag to keep oxygen out. Don't throw the rag at it. Cover it as if taping someone's mouth shut.

Anything for a bout of cancer, eh? Try lighting a wooden skewer and use that as a match you can hold onto.
