the only useful bug pokemon is Pinsir, in my opinion. I used him the whole game, his earthquake attack defeated most foes in one hit, & if it didn't, two would for sure, & for some reason he could learn thundershock too, which was the 'ace in the hole' against flying types, since bug types are weak to flyers.. Yeah, I love this game lol
I used to be the biggest Pokémon nerd. So I got really annoyed every time you missed hidden items like Potions and Antidotes. And you didn't even catch a Pikachu!
Then I decided to stop being such a nerd and just calm down.
The Bri-Man despises Pikachu, stated in the first installment of this saga, as do I... You want a bad ass electric type, go go gadget Electrode, you'll always strike first!
Well I am not a super nerd when it comes to this game, so I suspect my style may irk you a lot. Nothing to be done for it, so hopefully it will not drive you insane.
As for missing items, I tend to miss a ton of them, as I have not done a play through on 1st gen in about 8 years or so.
As for Gary Oak, I leave it till later, as it is far more challenging given his Pokemon team at the end of the game as opposed to the start. Also worth a lot more in the money department.
I don't mean to offend you, but it's really not an opinion that Spearow is a better leveling poke than Pidgey. The only time when it's the other way around is the 3rd gen.
@NaziJesus Factually you are incorrect. Pidgeot has better stats in general. You can see that here at tiny url .com /77kj4gr
Also I have a Nintendo Power guide that lists the first generation pokemon and Pidgeot has better stats DEFENSE and Health Wise. Only thing that Fearow has that's better is speed.
@Xirbtt thanks for replying to a comment i made 2 years ago about pokemon telling me i'm wrong... but i'm right.
Fearow has better speed AND attack. Also, Gust is normal type in the first gen, so Pidgey doens't have super-effective moves against the bugs on Viridian Forest.
OOH A GIME! ROFL

Butterfree??? Well, hey, you said you were going with a fun team. I'm interested in seeing what else you come up with. =)

I have to say, I love it when you pull out the epic zoom-in. It reminds me of the overly specific soul in Soul Blazer.

I could of sworn it was every 4 steps, not 6.

If Pokemon took on the traits of their trainers, I'd never be able to beat the game.

No Pidgey/Spearow catching?
What, you wanna be stuck using shitty bikes and low budget shoes?
ElMastergamer 2 years ago
Pidgey and spearow arn't required, pidgey being the better of the two in the end.
BleedItOut10 2 years ago
The ultimate truth.
PeTeRL90 2 years ago
I didn't say `Pidgey AND Spearow.
I said Pidgey/Spearow.
Yeah, Pidgey is BETTER than Spearow.
ElMastergamer 2 years ago
Sorry, Spearow is better.
Peck is a flying type and Gust is a normal type.
Also, Fearow has better stats than fucking Pidgeot.
NaziJesus 2 years ago
For me, Pidgeot works better than Fearow.
Still...Im not a fan of the 1st Gen games, so, i guess im talking about the 3rd Gen, in which Pidgeot is a tad better than Mr. Bird Monster.
Oh well.
Opinion is opinion, i guess.

as I said, I play somewhat removed from the styles people are used/adhere to.

...
Or you aren't going to use Fly right?

Brisulph! You rationalist. Empiric testing has shown that holding A+B increases catching chances by up to 3.3%, and A+B+Down up to 9.8%!
...Confirmation bias? But I study POKéMON!

Forgot the antidote by the first guy in the forest (in the tree). No Pikachu? Lol
You underestimate the Rattata, Brian. It's pretty hardcore if you train it right, the games AI is just shitty. lol
