  • Thanks for posting! At 3:58 you can see the green hanger on the left. That was where our HC-130s were maintained! Just before the hanger was the life support and weapons buildings. Also, you made reference to the post office early in the video but failed to mention the Class 6 building! That was where we purchased all of our beer and liquor! :)

  • Hey I love Sonny Landreth's "Back to Bayou Teche" as background music. It's perfect for this video and I'm guessing totally co-incidental.

    Rock on, Sonny.

  • I was at Woody.. 667 SOMS back then.. When we closed the base I went to RAF Alconbury for another few yrs. Then Home to Hurlburt Fld FL for another 5 ( I was a 53 Crew Chief) Good times at Woody, Had lots of Friends there, and I miss the Pubs, and late night Kababs!

  • Thank you so much! I graduated from High School Woodbridge 1988, use to work at the Rod and Gun Club on the flight line and you're tour did bring back some memories for sure! Thank you for sharing!

  • Had my 1st cold!! coke on the rocks here in mid 50s..sister was married to USAF pilot...F100 sabres....thought how friendly the americans were..brings back memories.....(love the music by the way)

  • Hey, I was stationed at Woodbridge from Sept. 1988-1991...this really brings back some memories for me...I worked in the last building/hangar on the left as the video ended! I was so glad to see that building again...I went back there in 1997 and 2000 but they had it all gated off and I wasn't able to get through. I worked as a back-shop hydraulic troop in the same place where the Fuel shop was...great video and great memories! Thanks! I am still in the AF in by the way...22 years! Mike

  • That was great. I was stationed there from 1962-65 and the drive along the flight line brought back old memories, although I worked a ways past where you turned around ... crew chief on F-101.

  • I was there 82-83. got to live on both bases. very sentimental for me. thanks

  • Wow -- the Volvo 345 that went past you at the opening of the video looked like MINE!! But as I left in early '91, and you said this was taken a little over a year later, I guess it couldn't have been...

I was there from Fall of '88 though Feb '91; worked in the Weather office (under the tower cab) on both bases. Wow!! What a grand experience it was! I never dreamed I'd feel as nostalgic for those times as I do now!

    Thanks for the memories!

  • It was fun seeing my old office as you turned around in the car park of the ATC tower! I spent many hours on the second floor (or is it First Floor?? ;-) and catwalk of that building, gazing at the clouds and getting paid for it! :-D Spent quite a bit of time hanging out in the tower cab with the ATC guys during some of the easy, boring shifts...

  • Sorry, no I don't, I was assigned to the Supply Squadron.

  • I was in the 81st Supply, from Jan '89 to Aug '92 - do you remember Capt Mcbride?

Where in Supply did you work?

I started in Inventory, then Doc Control, then EMSU, then finally RAMS before I PCS'ed to Tyndall...

  • Awesome Wally (if that is your name?). I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge from 90' to 93' (up to one month before they closed it). Did you know anyone who worked in the 81st Mission Support Squadron? I worked in the "Orderly Room" as it was called then.

  • What year was this?

  • Shot it in the spring of 1992, the last year I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters.

  • Good stuff I left in 88.

  • Let me know if you would like any current pictures of Woodbridge or Bentwaters or Woodbridge town! Thanks for the vids!
