  • It' funny the original is a better looking and better designed game compared to the remake.

  • My favorite game of all time!! unfortunatly i only got to play the remake but still this game is beyond amazing.

  • We need a new Tactic Ogres game damn it....

  • i know now why FFT use this as a foundation. i am playing it both on my mac (free time at home) and n900 phone (when i'm supposed to be working lol)

  • just started this game, looking for a pre patched version for my palm centro. Everytime it tries to auto patch it crashes... fudge... Anywho I find this game a bit more complicated than fft.

  • This topped fft slightly, the holy knight and dark knight were awesome classes and fft ninja was an actual ninja, besides that both had the best stories game play plot twists and shock value in a game i have ever seen.

*and Lans and his unit would have been fine if Warren had shown up.

*Tarot Card beast tamer/Lord class with any two hand bow made you a God.

  • can u give the link for the english version? thanks.

  • Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together = 1997

    Final Fantasy Tactics = 1998

i love both games so much!!!!

  • @AyumiAoi Actually Tactics ogre was originally released in 1995 on the super nintendo(famicom really) in japan. It just didn't make it to the US till it was released on saturn/psx so it was WAY ahead of its time and without tactics ogre, fft would have sucked ass or never existed.

  • @Lateralus8808: Final Fantasy Tactics is still Masuno's work. Tactics Ogre certainly laid the foundations for its perfection, but does this mean it would have certainly been a bad game? I don't think so.

  • Anyone could send me a message if is possible to find the english version ROM in SNES¿

  • wasnt this game the original?

and FFT was based off this game?

in any case, both games are good.

just wish i had this game in my PS1 collection.

  • This is also called "Ogre Battle II". The original Ogre Battle was a bit different from this, but I think this game came before FFT.

  • FFT was writen and directed by the same person who wrote and directed Tactics Ogre, He left quest and joined Square-enix. So basically speaking these two games are his as well as FFXII

  • but that is what i meant.

didnt tactics Ogre and its art style come first before FFT?

that makes Tactics Ogre the original.

  • so was this before or after knights of lodis? (i never played "let us cling together" and wanted to know more after i playing knights of lodis

  • Story of the "Knights of Lodis" continues to "Let us Cling together". In "LUCT", the sequel (actually released for SENS before the "KOL") , The hero of "KOL" is dispatched as military advisor to Valeria isles where ethnic civil war is abut to erupt. Hero of "LUCT" will battle it out against the hero of "KOL" for freedom and pride for his small nation.

Complicated but sophisticated with interesting story.

I've never played more impressive game than this. Must play it! (Now you can play Wii).

  • My favorite game. Some people may feel disgust with its graphics (being ported on PS1), but to me this game features one of the best classic pixel arts ever made for a game.

I really want that english Snes version, is there already a 100% complete translation out there?

  • There's a GBA version.

  • I had the PS version and it was excellent.

Actuallly I bought it becasue I played FFT before and I wanted to play more games like that.

The diffrents endigns were a great idea

  • story and gameplay, I like this over FFT

story: the story had morals, emotional

The gameplay: just necessary, there's few useless magic

graphics: they put on something tough looking like Terror Knight, Dragoon, bishop branta looks like a rockstar

sound: attack sounds like a pop but nice to hear, the music symbolizes thrill

  • totally uncomparable to FFT, it is absurd that people are comparing Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen to FFT, if anything I would understand "Tactics Ogre" that which was as I understand it, a sequel yet with what seems to probably be the first use of the FFT battle system. This game is fantastic but no comparisons could really be made to FFT as everything about the two games are completely different.

  • Err.. what? this is for the SNES? Whoa.. sorry for jumping ahead! This really isn't Ogre Battle.. oh well I need to play this.. been looking for an english translation for years..

  • Mr. Matsuno Yasumi, director of "FFT" first directed this "LUCT" then he moved to Square soft where he released "FFT" based on the game system (and story telling) of "LUCT".

This one was originally released for SNES. They claimed the best graphics for SNES and it actually was. The game was so completed PS1 version ( and SEGA Saturn also) was very simple adjustment version for new platforms.

  • I know they're directed by the same guy. When it comes to story, the writing is bit bad.

Like FFT better? Don't worry, disadvantages of LUCT were sadly bad, bow+height is abusable, you have to wait 13+ sec for

magic to end on each 13 panels. Monsters were near useless, so slow and not backed up by stats at all.

FFT give solution to it, the story although is not cool to me and they had alot of useless moves.

  • @dapithapon Story and Gameplay, I still prefer FFT over this

Story: FFT's Story ran deeper into politics, betrayal and sacrifice. A genuine rival to even Shakespeare.

Gameplay: an awesome soundtrack and creative looking characters and jobclasses: a great mix between Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy.

Plus the PsP version gets the dark knight, which is essentially the same as terror knight (in fact I know this since Terror Knight's are to be renamed "Dark Knight's" in the PsP version)

  • @GarlandFraser Both games are great in slightly different ways, but all stemming from the same brilliant mind (Matsuno). Both tales deal with politics and morality, but FFT throws in some religion stuff while TO has a branching storyline. Both games have great gameplay, but FFT is more about tinkering with character skills while TO is more straight-up strategy. Finally, FFT has the technical edge in sound, but both games have great soundtracks (each composed by Sakimoto and Iwata).

  • @megavolt67 Agreed!

  • i remember playing this shit when i was a little kid lol.good times.

  • I have the PS1 version of this and its still great to this day. Its a very underated game cause its always been overshadowed by final fantasy tactics

  • I agree totally..very very very good game. It easily compares in both story and gameplay to FFT. I love them both.

  • I'm playing it right now and i may put up some of the battles in the game on here

  • ... I miss this so much... ...

  • Do you know where i can a english copy of the game for the Snes emulator.

  • Yeah I want an SNES version so I can hold down tidle and level up.

  • This and Final Fantasy Tactics... dont make games like this anymore.

  • agree!

  • I know why you uploaded it. Because it was a kick keester game. That's why.

  • awesome game and video

  • One of the most perfect game series in the history of video games. The story, battle, everything is simply addictive and entertaining, as well as extraordinarily well thought and planned out. Love this video.

  • Best thing about this game...They remade it for the Sony Playstation... ^_^

  • they never remade it, it's just ported over to the psx....

  • I love this game, it's a classic of the tactical rpg, this was the first game I bought for my old PS, yeah, I played the ps version, but the diference between this and the other is minimal, the best game in my opinion.

  • ++++ approved

  • perfect game XD

  • can you upload the rest of the cutscenes (preferably in english?) this game has a wonderful story on par with the cult-hit Vagrant Story, but is not known for that (often overshadowed by FFT) and yeah, the music is great. A better remastered/reorchestrated version of this and other songs is on the Ogre~Grand Repeat album, which i love listening to.

  • you know what ... you danm right i never beleve but now i know is true now i will look for the game right now for snes right? no matter japanese i will start now

  • Atlus ported this game on PSX in english version.

    Great story and characters.

System is ok. Simple, nothing special.

Game is totally awesome for me.

They dont make games like this anymore.

  • NEVER remove this...
