  • Nice collection. I especially like the gladius. Check out my ninja and japanese weapons at shinobi1kenobi75

  • dude can i buy the kobra for $200

  • @mrcannibalfreak

Sorry, we don't really have any intention of getting rid of the kobra.

  • @mrcannibalfreak Sorry, but I'll never part with my kobra, I love it way too much for that. But you can get one at Himalayan-Imports (dot) com. They even have different styles and lengths of them :)

  • @CaraDanaellea i can see why it is one beautiful kukri

    great collection!!!!!!!:)

  • about headhunting axe would be a good camping axe?

  • @FirstPistolSammy

Yes, I would imagine it works fine as camping axe.

  • @SkallagrimNilsson

    ty good sir!

  • @SkallagrimNilsson

how much does the igorot weigh exactly

  • I've got the RA Evolution Scimitar, my fav sword!

  • Hey Skallagrim,

very nice Vid indeed! Cool weapons. I also got a sword from Raven Armoury - fantastic blades they have.

    Greetz Erik Viking

  • @Erik1970Viking

Yeah, Raven Armoury offers excellent swords. Glad you liked the video.

  • Hmm, concerning the round handle: Obviously, sanding it down do an oval shape would damage the grooves, but how about... dunno... cutting a slot into it so that you can feel the orientation of the blade with your fingers? Or maybe hammering a small nail all the way into it, so that the head sits flush. Could also be felt and would look like being an original part of the handle. Like "if I feel the cold metal spot on my index finger, the edges points forward".

  • Nice collection, btw as far as the lack of a guard on that second sword goes.

I'd think those holes and that choil would allow for a good achoring point to wrap some cordage around a few times and that way provide a pretty efficient finger guard, it wouldn't be all that pretty looking but it should do the job.

  • @88Kamikaze69

Yes, that's a good idea. It would offer at least some protection, definitely better than nothing.

  • I just bought the cold steel gladius.

  • @GOLDSILVERDUDE

Wow, until now I didn't even know they have come up with a gladius.

  • @SkallagrimNilsson

I believe its a 2011 product. But it is outstanding. 19 in. of 1055 carbon steel.

  • @SkallagrimNilsson

Well, its not exactly a gladius, its in their "machete" product line, don't be fooled though, cold steel machetes are really well made for the price, and you just cant beat their value, as it usually goes for less than $30 usd or 150krone

I hear they released it as a test market to make an actual gladius, but for $30 i wouldnt feel bad about actually having some fun with it and beating it around!!!

They make a gladius trainer too!!

  • where did you buy the secon sword, the one cara likes, and what is it called

  • @topdog3477

I bought it from an online shop in Germany, and they in turn imported it from Nepal. It's called Kobra kukri.

  • @SkallagrimNilsson thank you so much

  • It's a very Nice collection of blades!

  • @Susanoo58

    Thanks. =)

  • Those weapons are awesome; that's the sort of collection I'd love to have at some time. (: Very cool to see.

And you got yourself a well-built and sharp gladius on Ebay? I've been wondering where I could get good, quality edged weaponry online.

  • @000majorwinters000

I'd recommend you have a look at kultofathena . com and display battle-ready only. There are tons of interesting weapons in all price/quality ranges.

  • You have an interesting assortment of blades. My question is, would you consider getting a knife from emerson?

  • @KennKennith

Yes, I would love to get an Emerson karambit. I'd need to save up some money first...

  • @SkallagrimNilsson yea, before i was looking at the emerson karambit, i was checking out the model 42 benchmade balisong. i'm pretty bummed out that they discontinued them because i have this compulsive buying habit. right now i'm quite hellbent on finding that particular model on sale. if you didnt know, balisongs are also called butterfly knives. they are discontinued and are made illegal in much of the US except Pennsylvania, where i reside. i'm a total sucker for quality and expensive knives

  • @KennKennith

Yes, I know. Unfortunately balisongs are illegal in Europe as well. I don't know a single European country in which they are legal, which is a shame.

  • @SkallagrimNilsson you should move out of europe and live here. just this morning i found a website that sells the benchmade model 42 balisongs

  • @KennKennith

Well, if you can tell how to get a Green Card just like that... =)

  • @SkallagrimNilsson Well, i'm not really much help from there. and i just found out that i bought the last freaking one of the model 42!

  • So what's the deal with Norway, do you have to have a license to own any of this stuff or your guns?

  • @godak

Nope, no license necessary for these weapons. This is not the UK...

Firearms however require membership in a shooting club, safety course, and license for every single gun.

  • where did you get the saw tooth stick? it looks interesting...

  • @WolfgangNightshadow

I got it from traditionalfilipinoweapons . com

  • wow, i loved the kobra kukri, that is a real beauty, thanks for sharing this collection with us, i will now go and view part 2.

    Mike.

  • @WeaponCollector

Thanks Mike, glad to know you liked the collection.

  • I don't have a gladius. Though I do have blades roughly in that scale. Indian? Vaguely leaf-shaped. Round is easier to make.

I have a kukri but it is a fairly low quality model. I prefer my Ford truck spring parang. :)

    That is an odd stick.

    I want a tomahawk. I don't own one.

I have a 2 handed Cold Steel machete that I rather like.

I carry a Tenacious as my EDC. Though mine is plain edged.

    I have a few plastic blades. :)

Is Cara cooking in the background? :)

  • @tetsubo57 When am I not cooking in the background ;) Jokes aside, yes, the sounds you hear are my mushrooms getting fried...

It's not an odd stick... it's MY odd customized stick *grin*

  • @CaraDanaellea You better be feeding Skallagrim very well. We need him healthy when it is time to annihilate the aliens. He will be our bearded charismatic leader with an accent of authority and sexy suave.

  • @SupremeAmerican *draws breath* If you ever again say something this chauvinistic I will have to demonstrate that this is OUR weapon collection and I am not the weak female doing the kitchen work while her strong man is taking on the dangers.

As a matter of fact, in Skall's and my emergency plans it is clearly stated that I am to take command in any armed/violent situations because I have the tactical mind and authority. We always joke, I am the general while he is my soldier... *smiles*

  • @tetsubo57

Would you like to make a weapon collection video as well? I'd be totally interested. =)

Yes, Cara was cooking... unmistakable background noice, isn't it? ^_^

  • @SkallagrimNilsson I've made a short one in the past about some of my blades. I should probably dig out the rest and do a few vids. Though finding them all might be a pain...

  • @tetsubo57

Finding the particular video on your channel, now THAT will be a pain...

    Just kidding of course. =D

You don't know the exact location of all your weapons? Holy freaking crap... either you have way too many weapons or you are one hell of a disorganized messy.

Sorry, I'm somehow in a sarcastic impish mood right now... hope you don't mind. =D

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the video, once you've dug out your stuff.

  • @SkallagrimNilsson It's mostly that I have a whole lot of weapons. I've been collecting them for over 40 years. Plus I am a disorganized mess.

  • @tetsubo57

Well, when it's about weapons I say the more, the merrier. =)

Your collection probably has the size that I'd like mine to have.

  • @SkallagrimNilsson Much to my wife's annoyance, I am a firm believer that you can never have enough weapons. I want a shotgun but she is not happy with the idea.

  • @tetsubo57

Hm, I don't get it... what is not to like about shotguns? =)

  • @tetsubo57 Tell her that unless she is prepared to kill a rabbit or murdering rapist burglar with her female fists of furey then she needs to understand that a man and his shotgun are one.

  • @SupremeAmerican As long as you understand that I and a sniper rifle would be one...

but I'd take the shotgun as well ;D Just not as primary choice, a deaf warrior is only half as efficient and shotguns have a bad reputation for being ear damaging. Or do you take the time to put on hearing protection when defending yourself in an emergency? *grin*

  • I see you do not have any Collection of Maces. I would have liked to see a Morning Star or Flail Even.

Nice Descriptive Narration i must say. Very Nice Collection also. I like the Gladius. I always thought it was Pronounced "Gladus"

  • @chavosucks

Yes, I'd really like to have a morning star or a spiked mace, like Arms&Armor offers. I "just" need to scrape the cash together...

  • @chavosucks I'll go for the flail!

  • Ahh, a Roman Gladius - You can't avoid falling for it :D

I've always loved axes & I must say, that Headhunting Axe looks awesome!!! I also liked the Kukri :)

  • @TheAnnoyingSwede

The gladius is always a classic. =)

Yes, the headhunting axe is very unique and attractive.

  • I pity anyone who breaks into your place.

  • @thejohnmithredux

    Yeah, pity the fool!

    Get it? =)

  • @SkallagrimNilsson Yes....although I was always a Murdoch fan....:). The only weapons I have are my old military knife (IDF standard issue) and a Hibben Claw I received from an old flat mate.

  • hehe might have been rushed but we all got the "point". You have a neat collection that also looks quite scary! yea its "sticking out" and you could "definatly" be a "pain in the neck"!

ok ill stop ill stop hehehe bad puns ftw (what about the jimping?)

    couldnt resist!

  • @kahah2

Yeah, there's a serious lack of jimping on some of those...

  • @kahah2 Also, I have a sharp eye for these type of things.

  • Nice weapons, I am looking into getting the cold steel war hammer, check that one out sometime.

  • @humans4targets2

Yes, that war hammer is pretty cool. Cold Steel has a lot of interesting impact weapons.

  • Cara has an exotic taste in weaponry 0.o

  • @macwild1234

Mine can be even more exotic. ;-)

  • @macwild1234 He forgot to mention that the saw tooth stick also was bought for him but on reception was appropriated by me... so two handed Kukri, Saw Tooth Stick, Whips, Asian pole arms... just to start the list of my favorite weapons :D

And I never could get myself to like either the medieval Bastard sword or the Katana... ah, I just don't appreciate the classics...

  • @CaraDanaellea

Why do I get the feeling you and Skall are conspicuously replying with sexual innuendos?....

  • @macwild1234 While I actually didn't do it (this time), I am open about my weapons fetish. I can't resist when Skall gets up in military/"master" gear and arms himself, that is to me the peak of male attractiveness. Innuendo enough or do I need to go into details ;)

  • @macwild1234

Well, we like to do that but in this case there was really no naughty thought involved at all. You seem to have a vivid fantasy though... ;-D

  • Lots off unique blades you got there.

Buck knives always have great value.

You Europeans are a bit dark aren't you ;)

    I almost said Norwegian.

You should check out the CRKT Ripple scales if you like that last karambits' .

  • @BuffaloWarrior7

Dark Europeans? Nah, not at all... We're just kind of, uh, special. =)

  • Wait... I thought you had WAY more than that. NO! did you get rid of the Albion Spatha and your custom pole axe, and many others?

  • @LaCosaNostra132

Yes, unfortunately I had to. I've also uploaded a video with photos of weapons that I used to have.

  • @LaCosaNostra132 If I even started thinking about all the weapons that already came and went... gods, over the years it amounts to at least a dozen. We like change and I personally only keep weapons I feel I would use in an emergency. I don't like "dust collectors".

  • @CaraDanaellea perhaps I should do the same. I have at least 12 swords, 6 spears, 2 axes, 4 different maces, 3 javelins, my stone sling and my 3 wall hanger swords that i've hung up from my favorite films. I'll sell some of my swords but not my Albions, and not my Bronze blades from Niel Berdges (forgot how to spell his last name lol). Then I've got all my fire arms. Well good thing is, in the unlikley event of a post nucleart war I have enough weapons for an army :D

  • @LaCosaNostra132 Oh, I have a stone sling as well... completely forgot about that one. Albion and Niel are of course above selling! At least unless I'd really don't bond with the weapon, that I have to do. I don't keep weapons that are not "mine" and mine alone. I am a tad spiritual about it I have to confess...

  • @CaraDanaellea HAHAHA same here! I always thought it was kinda wierd, but even though I have many edged weapons, I have only 1 sword that am also sort of spiritualy attached to. Its my 24 inch greek xiphos made by manning imperial in Australia. It cost about as much as an albion but the blade it made of Iron, and the hilt is a sandwiched construction of Iron and Bone. Not sure what animal though. Hopefully not a person :D If I've got floating objects in my room at night ill know it was aperson:D

  • @LaCosaNostra132 Sounds like a really nice piece of work. And what would be so bad about the bone being from a human? It would only be fitting for a weapon since humans are what it was made to be used against.

If the bone is from another animal than that would indicate a hunting weapon since it would already have carried death to one of those... but that is of course only my philosophical viewpoint, or is it? ;)

  • @CaraDanaellea True, that is one way of looking at it, but then again, in hoistorical times they could have hunted the animals for their bone to use in weapon production. I heard they used wood sometimes, but with temperature and weather, the wood expands and changes shape. I dont know if bone does that. If not, thats why they did that. Your philosophy could be right, but it sounds like someting a tribe of some sort would do and not an advanced empire, but it is possible.

  • @LaCosaNostra132 Advanced empires don't have spiritual beliefs then? Hm, tell that to the Romans who consulted chicken oracles before battles ;)

Anyway, my point was merely that I see no problem (law aside) with human bone as material and I came up with a "nice" back up story. Of course, bone is bone in the end since everything with bones is an animal, only different species. So what it boils down to is the different characteristics of the bones of different species which are diff. from wood.

  • @CaraDanaellea OH no no no :D I understand were your coming from. I have spent many years teaching myself about Western Civilization, and then I took it for many years in college. Yes of course large Empires did things like that, its just after studying the Greeks, I realized they didnt make their weapons out of a material like human bone. When they would hunt for food or kill their live stock for food, they would keep the bone for the sword materials. but I get what you mean :)

  • @CaraDanaellea I am an American, i have highly evolved sensory hairs that repair themselves over time. You should move to America and join me in the supreme race. Skalli is our messiah.

  • @SupremeAmerican Supreme race, my ass. Your as Caucasian as the rest of your EUROPEAN ancestry. And let's not even get started about the topic that human races have no biological foundation whatsoever. It's a political term.

And just to make it sting, if Skall is your Messiah: He also thinks that race is as arbitrary, obsolete and useless as nationality ;D

  • @CaraDanaellea The American race comes in many differrent colors and creeds, what seperates us is that God sent aliens to our government, to flouridate our water and give us super powers. Skalli is an alien, he is cloaked as an outrageous european, but will soon reveal his true identity and take over the world.

  • @CaraDanaellea Oh bah humbug, i go trap shooting all the time without ear protection and i can hear just fine

  • @SupremeAmerican When was the last time you let a doctor check how much hearing percent you really have? Hearing loss is a continuous process unless it really is extreme.

  • That Roman sword is such a nice bit of craftsmanship.

  • @SupremeAmerican

Yes, absolutely. It is only rivaled by the Albion spatha I've had.

  • Is that Cold Steel Kukri the "machete Kukri" or the San Mai III? I can't imagine spending that kind of money on a kukri, but I hear the San Mai's are amazing.

Still, my Cold Steel machete Kukri is great on the trail and I think that cost me about$30 US. Maybe less. Can't beat that.

    Cool vid, man.

  • @neonshoji

It's neither of them. This is the Gurkha Kukri in SK-5, the more affordable version of the San Mai III.

  • I have a Kukri like that, only mines Windlass. I love it!

  • You got a very nice collection of edged weapons there.

  • I assume that dao with which you recently made a video is gone, then? Also, that Filipino sawblade weapon is wild. Never seen anything like it before.

  • @emu4286

It's not gone yet but we are currently offering it for sale. It has some issues and we're not 100% satisfied with it.

  • Skallagrim, you have an amazing... villainous voice. lol no offence if you took any. (P.S. you also have a cool evil laugh! :D)

  • @666CrazyCory

Villainous sounds more like a compliment to me. =D

  • @SkallagrimNilsson lol well now that we see eye to eye.

  • That Roman gladius is ridiculously cool. Nice collection!

  • I feel like I am in a killers room tied up waiting sort of impatiently for him to pick something up and bash my brains in or chop my head off. thumbs up for sure lol I know it sounds like I am giving it a bad rating but really it's a "nice" feeling. you know atlas I will be impressed before I die like "wow thats a nice battle axe" or "ooh I love that katana can we do a less formal hari kari" lol... i have problem don't I :(

  • @wolf1234link

Hehe, you have a lively imagination. Nothing wrong about that by the way. =)

  • how much did that last one cost?

  • @EliteAmericans

    The Filipino karambit? $155.

  • buck knifes suprise most. iv had alot of knifes that are ok but not good for the price and i payed $200 for my buck hunting knife and its GREAT really sharp, good metal, and love the grip, i admit its not as good as my military M9 but the m9 takes a bit to get sharp and is really heavy

  • @HONORGUARD308

Yep, most of the time "you get what you pay for" is true, but not always.

  • Nice collection you got there

The Roman Gladius is a very interesting weapon, battle proven and with a rich history.

  • @lakeb0dom

Indeed, the gladius is certainly one of the most successful swords in history.

  • I love you

  • YAAAAAAY!!!! Thanks very much for the video! Awesome, as always!!

  • @gregarioushand

    Glad you liked it. =)

  • @SkallagrimNilsson The cobra, (the serious looking kukhri), the blade looks rather like a yaghtan! Its certainly got a definite authority to it XD. The double bitted axe is brilliant by the way. And the raven armoury gladius, is a sweet looking blade!

  • @gregarioushand

The cobra can be compared to several different sword types, among others the falcata and kopis as well. To me it's mostly a longer, narrower version of the khukuri.

The axe looks better than it's quality is, that's for sure. =)

  • Great video, thanks for posting. That's an impressive collection you two have there.

  • @Kisk79

Well, there have been times where the collection was much larger, but I guess we can't complain.

  • @SkallagrimNilsson

Nothing wrong with that, I used to have quite a large collection at one time, but I've had to move on from some of them and now I only have my absolute favourites, which only number to a few weapons, but the great thing that I love about edged weapons is they seem to have so much more personality than firearms. Both are great, but I enjoy collecting one over the other.
