I have been thinking of when you said, "Its our Earth."

I wondered the same thing right after the, Exxon Valdez oil spill.

I remember day it happened. It was reported on the radio and closer to my home than the Gulf oil spill.

I also remember the Union Carbide environmental disaster in India.

Poison gas got away and killed many people.

I thought the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill in Alaska in 1989 was big. I remember when it happened, but the Gulf Of Mexico oil spill dwarfs it, and is still on going.

I hope somebody has a plan for this. I have read stories that say the polar ice caps might be gone by 2013. Does that mean the glaciers in the mountains, that supply our rivers, may by gone too? Actually I think the glaciers in our mountains might be gone FIRST.

I am completely against cutting down forests. What I'm trying to expose is the warped theory that CO2 causes global warming.

I don't really want to debate this. Since neither of us know this for sure. I will just add this one last time. In my opinion it is always better to play worst case senario when we are discussing the end of our planet If you are right then we can pat you on the back, if a majority of the worlds scientists are right the world ends. To me there is no choice. I don't doubt the world goes through trends but I am not convinced the melting of the polar ice caps is natural and not at least man assisted

The natural climate changes will happen, over thousands or millions of years, if you take an evolutionary view. However, man has the capacity to accelerate this process.

Understand that many of the things we can do, as individuals, are not draconian, and even save money. Turning off lights, putting air conditioners on timers, carpooling, for example. Separating trash takes less effort when you have separate bins when throwing away. You can recycle aluminum and earn a bit of pocket money.

I remember the first Earthday on March 21st 1970. I was still in Burnaby North School. We used an Earthday symbol. It was a circle with a horizonal line through it, but seem to have disappeared in later years. Quite a few Earthdays went by unnoticed since.

Last year I was surprised and happy to see the YoungTubers create this. I did not expect to see such a video from kids this young.

It shows what a success the first Earthday was.
