I love how Rose's initial reactions to these stories are always like, "Really....? Wow!..." Also, it's not a 100% authentic Sophia story unless she says "...but I digress..." I think I learned the word "digress" from this show! ;)
Rest in peace Estelle ,Rue and Beatrice ! we'll never forget you !
I m french and i love Golden Girls ! that show make me laugh every time, so good characters ! Love all these womens and it's so sad three of them are allready dead :(
I think it's awesome that all these Golden Girl's vids that are all 10+ years old and from another generation can still have 100000 views and are on something like Youtube. It's refreshing to know that true great comedy really is timeless and can live on in another era.
@fishyfishycup who knew a show about 4 old ladies would be still funny after all these years, shows two things, great actresses, great writers. golden girls is stll funnier than most of todays crap, even maude is pretty funny and thats 38 years old!
I STARTED BUSTING OUT LAUGHING AT THIS EPISODE I watch them every night my favorite one is the one where sophia takes rose's car and a phone book to try to drive ha ha hillarious
@barbra1942streisand she says: "All right, all right, I can pick up a cue. Picture it: Sicily, 1912. A beautiful, young peasant girl with clear olive skin meets an exciting but penniless Spanish artist. There's an instant attraction. They laugh, they sing, they slam down a few boilermakers. Shortly afterwards he's arrested for showing her how he can hold his palette without using his hands. But I digress.
@barbra1942streisand continued: He paints her portrait and they make passionate love. She spends much of the next day in the shower with a loofah sponge scrubbing his fingerprints off her body. She sees the portrait and is insulted. It looks nothing like her. And she storms out of his life forever. That peasant girl was me -- and that painted was Pablo Picasso.
would it be possible to download her Mama Celeste story, and her swimming pepperoni story...and I believe she had a red baron story too. God her and rose had the best stories!!!
Good Lord, so now John McCain told economists he wants to deregulate health care (like Medicare, Medicaid, and early health care for children programs) just like the Republicans did with the banking and oil industries. John McCain admits he doesn't understand the economy. It shows. He would crash Medicaid and Medicare -- by allowing the rich to run the same scams that are crashing the rest of our economy.
Picassos art came from African mask-art. He was the most producive artist, with more than 100.000 works, with a "value" of billions. The only problem I may see, is that he copied himself over all the years, but still I think he is of the greatest. I am trying to find a special painting I saw in Londons "Tate Modern", called "reclining nude". (He made several with that title, but i guess they don`t have too many at that gallery)
Well, thank you :) Did you know that the artist with most names was Picasso? I think it was close to 30! Once at cafe, a little kid, four I think, did some kurves and lines on a paper, then Picasso signed it, the others at the cafe did not know. Then Pablo sold it at the cafe for several time their bill.. HIs friends at his table were speachless.. :)
Thsi show, those women especially the fabulous Estelle Getty...OH my god. I watch the dvds all the time and laugh. It was and is the best of TV....Thank you my dear angel.

Watching this show has always been one of my fondest memories. I remember curling up in bed with my Grandma and watching it with her. We'd eat popcorn and she'd laugh and I'd laugh just because she was. I was too young then to really understand the show, but I always knew I loved Sophia. Now that my Grandma's gone I still watch the show and I still love Sophia.
I wish her family the best and may she rest in peace.
i love Dorothy's reaction too, when she taps her fingers on the table, as if to say anothr tall story. She loves Sophia so much, but just gets so tired of her stories!! so funny

Funny thing is, in the Eighties, there was a line of action figures that were obviously a
ripoff of She-Ra. The line was called Golden
Girl. Golden Girl was the main figure. and
not long after I saw the figures, The Golden
Girls came out. Though I've never seen
Dorothy waving a sword.
