  • cruising nice at the ton and responsive from there on to.....keep her lit

  • I'm thinking about getting this bike I can drive a 250cc fine, is this a good second bike to get?

  • wat kind of exhaust do you have

  • This or sv650? I don't care about specs all that much but i'm having trouble finding the better looks on both bikes. I like the front of the ninja and hate the banana seat on the ninja. I like the rear of the sv650, seats, and the front I don't mind much. Riding positions are different, I sat on both at the dealers and i feel comfortable on both in different ways... Does the sporty riding position of the become less comfortable when ACTUALLY riding? Or is it "you get what you see"?

  • @plehdehgame Is it your first bike? If it's your first bike get the Ninja. I've ridden my friend's SV. A little too much power for a first bike (vtwins make toque at much lower rpms) and it gets uncomfortable after a while. Ninja is more comfortable and a little more beginner friendly.

  • i just got this bike on August 14th! and i love it. i did see that flashing light.. but how many more miles do you have before you completely run out of gas after you see the lights? Also.. will the warning lights come out again if you are amost completely out?

  • @kurdi82 light comes on when you have a half tank so u still have 2 gallons when it comes on

  • hey man where is the gas indicator ?? how do you know if you run outta gas!!

  • @kurdi82 You know if your run out of gas because the engine stops running :)

Actually there's no gauge, but there's a low fuel light.

  • @skyline44512 what year is it? your bike.

  • It's about 8% off, not 11.5%. 130mph indicated is about 120mph, not 115.

And no offense, but I don't believe you understand analog and digital speedometers; the fact that there is a needle makes no difference. Whether the display is analog or digital is irrelevant, they both convert an electronic signal into a displayed speed. You can use a speedo healer on the 650R just like a bike with a digital speedo. The old)method was to have a speedometer cable, so the speed could not be corrected.

  • your not actually doin 130 sorry but the 650r like most bikes especially with analog speedometers is off the faster your going the more its off so 130 would be more like 115ish.. just a heads up... i own one to and its common place

  • howmuch do u give this bike on 10? im 19 and im about to buy it next week, just want to get a positive boost , hoping im buying the right thing :D

  • @wkmatsumoto 8.5/10 overall. This bike does almost everything well! It just doesn't completely own in any one category. It'd be a 9+ with small fixes like a gas gauge, digital speedo, no rattles/buzzing, and maybe fuel consumption display.

  • @skyline44512 they do have digital speedometers with fuel gauges

  • the 650r is my first bike, it really is a solid bike to learn on. I want to do something with the handlebars though, there to high

  • i have to say, i have a 2009 hyosung gt650r and its a vtwin. i have gotten it to about 130 and i felt like it was slow compared to other bikes but seeing this video i feel more satisfyed knowing that my bike is just as fast as a ninja

  • what year is your bike ??

  • 2:16 AH SHIT SEMI!

  • Sorry to burst your bubble there sonny boy, but your bike is a bike built for girls!

  • @Tophairybutt that makes it a girl magnet bike

  • This is a great bike in the city where low end torque is needed. The most I've ever gotten in the city was 80 mph becuase of all the cars and I'm chickenshit past 7000 rpm. This bike likes 4k and 7k and at these rpms it seems to be the harmonic point of power for the 650r. I'll try topping it the next time I hit an empty straight away between San Antonio and Corpus Christi. There's plenty of room and not so many LEOs in that part of the country.

  • ur shifting to soon

  • @jslong36 No, it's a 650R, it has a parallel twin engine, it makes less power at 10k RPMs than at 9k RPMs, there is no benefit to taking it to redline on this bike

  • @skyline44512 but wouldnt stretching out ur gears let u get more speed out of a gear

  • @skyline44512 Hate to break it to you but you have to think in terms of average power, not peak power. Shifting at peak power rather than red line will take you out of the peak power band. Even though revving higher puts you at less than peak power, the drop in rpms following the gear shift puts you much closer to that peak power again. If you know integral calculus then its easy to see by looking at area under the curve bounded by each shift point. Shifting at red line is clearly greater.

  • @skyline44512 Depends on gear ratios

  • @skyline44512 Most engines produce less horsepower at less than redline, however you have less momentum than at redline, plus it puts the next gear higher in the powerband. In fact, nearly every single engine produced makes its peak power well before redline, doesn't matter if it's a 1400cc 4-cylinder superbike or a V-8 mustang, you will go faster shifting at redline.

  • @85kewgrr You're completely right, but when the power drops sharply after and this is a more torque oriented machine, it feels a lot better (to me) shifting at peak power than at redline. My 600RR is a diff story, that bike likes to go to redline.

  • Wtf?

    only 130 mph on a 650cc Bike?

    my RS125 goes 100MPH :D

  • @BKsMassive The 650R can only hit 140mph indicated, which is 130mph. I'd love to have an RS125 just for fun or small class track racing.

    That's also a 2-stroke, which makes a huge difference

  • @skyline44512

    RS125 is pretty beastly :)

but im upgrading to Ninja 250r soon :D

  • @skyline44512

    Sorry.....

i cant get a 650cc yet not old enough :/

but trust me RS125 are Smooth as!

im going to upgrade to a Ninja 250r soon :)

  • @BKsMassive ????? not old enough?... the 650 was and still is my first bike... and i love it

  • @BKsMassive noob its a V your bike Is a FUckiing Shitty 2 STRoke less reliable and THIS V twin HAs MId range ANd less top end

  • @lukeandjoshua this is a parallel twin, not a vtwin

  • @chriswg2000 ok maybe soo i realise but do you own a bike ??

  • @BKsMassive it is governed at 135, plut its a twin parallel engine. thats why it is classified as a sporttouring. and it is an awesome. congrats on the rs125 by the way

  • @bonsleezee

im going to be upgrading once im old enough :)

you seen the new RS125 2010 models do 116MPH! :o

  • @BKsMassive dude skyline44512 is right. a 2 stroke bike has a monstrous advantage in power vs weight. they don't even compare.

  • if you were running youd be going balls to the wall yu wouldnt slow down belive me

  • @croner13 What's the point in running if you crash? You either die or get caught. Sorry I'm not reckless enough for your taste, but it doesn't take 100% of the bike's ability to outrun a Ford Crown Victoria

  • croner13- you obviously have not ridden in a Police Interceptor Crown Vic. they'll outrun that 650R in a full-on top speed run.

  • @tbunder But they'll get smoked in traffic; or in twisties. It's not about who has the top speed, it's about who can get there first.

  • @tbunder i agree with that they wont handle as well turning but on a straight away it'll keep up with MOST bikes without even trying :) ah the fun of a police interceptor in a crown vic :D

  • @skyline44512 still can't outrun the radio.... I have a 08 650R and have had it to 125 going by the GPS... 140 by speedo....

  • @skyline44512 Currently on a Honda v65, would be a interesting race between the two

  • yes it does it takes more than 100% of the bike's ability to outrun a crown vic ... they can go 150mph

  • @mycbr600rr not in between cars and besides there not gonna chase him at that speed on a crowded road. here in florida if the bike is going 30 over the cop isnt aloud to pursue

  • @mycbr600rr I don't know what sort of crown vic you are talking about. Police interceptor crown vics top out at 119 or 129 (depending on gearing). Dodge Charger cruisers with the hemi can do 159. They still can't accelerate as fast as a bike though.

  • @mycbr600rr you cannot say the top speed of any car crown vics it depends on the owners or how it was made they do not all go 150

  • @THECODGODZ101 why would he need to outrun a civilian's crown vic? i'm talking about a police cruiser.

  • yo only 130 top speed! definitly not i toped out my 650r at 162 and i was 158 lbs

  • @SouthFloridaBiker how do you know? this bikes spedo only goes to 140....

  • I'm glad I stuck with my inline 4...this parallel twin just doesn't' have it. top speed maybe 140??? and doing like 100 in a construction zone...wow do we have a death wish?

  • Is this the 2010 version or the 2009?

(I am a begginer with motorcycles)

  • i think he might want to try down shifting every now and then being in last gear at 4000 rpm doin only will cause a delay in his exceleration causing the vibration about 5 minutes in youll see what im sayin not haten on you you know want u doin just a sugestion

  • I see where you're talking about, and I was on a ramp merging onto another freeway, there's no reason to downshift. The vibration has nothing to do with RPMs, the noise you hear is the wind. Also, it's a parallel twin engine. It doesn't make the most power near redline like a 4 cyl, it pulls at lower RPMs. The bike has a lot of torque and not a lot of HP. And at 70mph the bike is over 5k RPMs.

  • @wugambino68 Lol I ride my 1000 at 4500 rpm a lot when I'm just cruising around to save gas. All the powers there when you need it to b you just need to downshift when you want to take off. In fact I suggest cruising under 6k rpms constantly if you'd like to save on gas.

  • looks like florida hw

  • @manyandlady I wish it was Florida, just Ohio in the summer

  • @manyandlady It kind of does, lol. Looks slightly like I-4

  • haha dude i watch this vid like 8 times cause it was lookin really familar and i just realized that you were from Youngstown...you were driving from Austintown... luv it bro nice bike those pigs wont catch you

  • @alexval817 Well the charger can catch a 650R at top speed. But they can't match the acceleration so you have to get off the freeway if one comes after you. However, my 600RR outruns them easily over 160mph

  • is the rattling the bike or the camera? im thinking about buying an 08, and i heard some complaints about the front rattling when the rpms get into certain ranges.

  • @Kegath Im pretty sure that its the camera moving when he slows down and speeds up with the wind passing by it.

  • @Kegath That's all just the wind. With a better camera and tape over the microphone all you hear is the engine. There is a little fairing rattle on the 650R but it's easy to fix with some weather stripping and/or rubber washers

  • I have an 08 Suzuki Gsx650f (Katana) runs about the same speed, 74 hp -130-150mph, 56 mpg...

  • 2:18 holy fuck.... semi in reverse, oh ..... wait no

  • 2:08

    LOL

  • how fast is a 650 whats the top speed i plan on getting one

  • 140 indicated on the speedometer, which is maybe 130 actual. if you're looking for top speed this isn't the bike for it, just about any 600 has more top end, but this bike has good torque at low rpms, good gas mileage, and good highway roll on for passing

  • last night we seena couch rocket try runing from the police in a traler park

  • I almost got this bike, but then I saw the FZ6R and got that cause it looked a lot better to me. The FZ6R tops out about 146 - 150 MPH. This bike is no slouch by any means either. Great bike dude. Ride safely.

  • i fucking love it

  • Regardless of what kind of bike you have, you have to worry about cops. I have a 650R which does 140 and a 600RR which does 170, and some cops will pursue and radio ahead even if you pass them doing over 160mph. Saying a 650R is not a real bike makes you a complete asshole.

  • not only that...but it makes him a complete dipshit! lol

  • Awesome video man, i woulda shit myself if I was riding a bike at that speed and saw a cop car on the opposite side of the road. Good thing we have no cops on the highways here. ;)

  • where do you live i wish there were no cops here!! it seems they are chasing bikes more and more, but the CBR escapes easily :)

  • Denmark, and i expect you to be from the States. So its a long way, but seriously brother, if you cruise for 10 hours on the highway, you might, MIGHT see 1 cop car.

  • Denmark's a nice country. Not just for that reason. Wikipedia say's their the happiest country in the world. ....... Maybe it does have something to do with the ratio of cops to motorbikes?

  • Well, we do have alot of crime, but a big lack of police officers here, but it also sucks to live here at the moment since Denmark is the most expensive country to live in as it is.

  • Just like every other country in the world. Pros and cons :)

  • I hate rice rockets!!!!!!

  • this is a twin

  • yeah, but coolbluelights is too cool to know that

  • This guy obviously doesn't have the balls to ride a rocket so he either bashes them or he drives a beater Goldwing or something similar. Real cool

  • If you guys stopped trying to show off and stop acting like assholes cutting people off and blazing down the road at 2am then I wouldn't hate you. put a damn silencer on it or something! even if I did own one I would have the common courtesy not to weave like an asshole and wake people up in the middle of the night!

  • where in this video does it show me weaving? on the contrary I slow down when approaching traffic. and if it was 2am wouldn't it be dark? you're making sweeping generalizations that don't apply to this video. also, a "rice rocket" as you so ignorantly dubbed this would be a 4 cylinder bike, the 650R is a parallel TWIN, 2 cylinders...

  • Ok Ok well you're part of the minority who actually obeys the traffic rules. I just felt the need to hate on them they just piss me off sometimes... you know those loud obnoxious bikes that people like to show off with? those, I hate those. also known as crotch rockets. there's an example of how obnoxious they sound on my channel.

  • i ride wheelies past cops for fun bro

  • have you no respect for anything? guess not.

  • You all neat n shit. But I would want to do that to. You have huge cohones to pull that off though.

  • when does the rev limter kick in on that bike?

  • 11k, but there is no point shifting much over 9 as the power decreases after that....

  • love ninja 650. lol when you saw the cop you took those exits. :P that's what I would have done :P

  • I hit 137mph on my ER6n! Its a naked!!!!!

  • I can't wait to get mine!!!

  • I like how you consider the other cars.

  • @2011kidshaq i like how you're lame.

  • @2011kidshaq Thanks. That's a big difference in how I ride. I think you can go pretty fast but still be smart and safe about it. Just because I may like to open it up sometimes doesn't mean I have to not signal and cut people off.

  • what year is the bike?

  • looks like a '06 in the pic. i could be wrong

  • 2008, the bikes are almost identical, just different color combos until 09, it was redesigned

  • Is this video made in Tennessee/Virginia?

  • who's fucking vid is this?

  • umm...mine. obviously

  • duh

  • Funny, ARMYstrong419's, "Kawasaki Ninja 650R top speed run (almost top speed anyway)" looks almost identical???

    Hmmmm, DUH!

And we know NOBODY has ever repost a vid as their own here on YouTube?

    hmmmm, der!

  • well, duh...ARMYstrong419's vid is the same?

    whatev stoner....

  • I wonder why Kawa made the dials like that; one up one down. I don'e like it. You notice that Hondas are all symmetrical, I think. More satisfying to look at.

  • I'm gonna guess they did it so your eye can find the Tach quicker when shifting.

  • i dont even really look at my speed. I always glance at my rpms. to find out where i am in gears. and by the sound of my bike.

  • so did u outrun the cop?

  • yup :)

  • NIIICE

  • same thing happened to my uncle in his camero same speed to:))

  • It's more like 125 cause the speedo is off but props on breaking the sound barrier lol ;) I have gotten mine up to an indicated 125, so around 120. Scary but fun

  • Heyy.. you got off 224, onto 11, and passed Austintown Exit! Before the video started you passed sheetz on Raccoon. Sheetz was on your left and Do-Cut was on the right! aha I know because I live on Raccoon.

  • exactly right! that's so weird you happened to see this!

  • Where do you live? (town/city)

  • I live in Bowling Green, OH but my girlfriend lives in Berlin Center. To get to her house I go straight down 224 through canfield and ellsworth after I get off Rt. 11

  • Bowling Green? Damn you're close! I live in Rossford! :-p

  • my friend got his up to 170

  • a sportbike, but it wasn't a 650R. it had to be a gixxer 750 or any 1000 cc bike. or a modified 600 stock 600s will get close to that but not quite. mine tops out 140mph stock

  • a k4 bandit 600 that is

  • thats shit...iv got an unfaired k4 bandit and have had 140 out of it!

  • Somehow I don't believe the cop story because you didn't exit the highway.

The Cop could gets other cops in front to bust you

  • he didn't turn his lights on i think he was trying to creep up on me. they did the same thing last summer only i didn't speed up the cop got right behind me and hit the lights
