Do they want to use corexit to sink the oil to the point where it's always on the floor because oil floats? It's said the oil covers 40 percent of the gulf floor now in a cloud like arrangement. So the hurricanes may have picked up all that water surface oil and spread oil all over. Still this is far less toxic than corexit. Now, no one can go in the gulf. Let me say it again, Simmons will make millions if BP stock plumments and loses millions if the stock goes up. This claim, like those he has made before now (including the BP is going to file Chapter 11), is not credible.
It could be that the well has released enough overpressure to be cappable now. IE three months later the pressure has equalized somewjat, allowing it to be contained.

I generaly belive that Matt Simmons is right, however he says the Blowout preventer & the well bore casing is gone. What are we seeing in the ROV live feed? Also I have not found the PSI Pressure readings since they closed valves. Does anybody know what the pressure (psi) is?

Speculating about an open hole based on what you've been hearing in your circle of experts is not LYING, even if it's never verified.
What should happen is some investigation, particularly by the uselessly complicit oil industry ad dollar loving media, to determine if there is or isn't one, instead of just BELIEVING that there couldn't be because none of the PR-focused sociopaths in BP or in the political establishment want to have a conversation about it.
They know that out of sight = out of mind for most people. As long as they don't say anything about it, most people will never know anything about it, and the media is not going to do any more than repeat the official line from BP and the White House.
If the public was largely aware of the POSSIBILITY of an open hole spewing 120,000 barrels (5mil gals) of oil a day a couple of miles from the only video feed they want us to see, people would be DEMANDING an investigation to confirm or disprove.

I'd like more information about this Simmons character. He makes great claims, and people seem to respect him, but why can't I find anything about him? Very early on in the piece, BP admitted there were 3 breaches. This is the second one capped so that leaves one other somewhere.
Like any sane person, I hope Simmons is dead wrong. If someone has concrete evidence that he is wrong, show it now.

Having seen nature shows, like Planet Earth, one knows the way sea particles and such move under water and can be affected by sea life, currents, and also any humans or robotics. The ROV could have been have too close and blowing sands up. The point later in the video, that the description cites, looks like sea life to me. the film quality just doesn't allow it to be clear what we are seeing. However, not a a bad find.

@MenaceFan It's simple math. Official estimates of the flow rate (which I'm sure can be calculated pretty accurately so why all the "guesses") were from 20,000 - 120,000 PSI. The cap they now have on is holding 9,000 PSI. Where's the rest? Unless you discount previous estimates. But then you have to discount all of the previous announcements. And present and future.
I'm just saying there's a major discrepency in the official story. That makes it as suspect as anyone elses story tome.

The PSI from the gauge that people were referencing yesterday is not the well it was the ram hydraulics.
Let me say it again, Simmons will make millions if BP stock plumments and loses millions if the stock goes up. This claim, like those he has made before now (including the BP is going to file Chapter 11), is not credible.

i was actually watching the rover cams all day yesterday
one of the cams was pointed at a pressure gauge up until about 5.30pm before going away from that shot
up until midnite when i crashed there was no more footage of the pressure gauge that i saw
they are also using transducers to measure pressure but there is no way to monitor that
while i watched, pressures never reached or exceded 3000psi

they could not kill because they could only achieve less than 6000psi with mud column

they must intercept with relief wells below the point of leak or bottom kill will not work

I generaly belive that Matt Simmons is right, however he says the Blowout preventer & the well bore casing is gone. What are we seeing in the ROV live feed? Also I have not found the PSI Pressure readings since they closed valves. Does anybody know what the pressure (psi) is?
I hope Simmons is wrong because if he isn't then this is all just for show, trying to fool everybody in the world including engineers looking at this.

They know that out of sight = out of mind for most people. As long as they don't say anything about it, most people will never know anything about it, and the media is not going to do any more than repeat the official line from BP and the White House.
If the public was largely aware of the POSSIBILITY of an open hole spewing 120,000 barrels (5mil gals) of oil a day a couple of miles from the only video feed they want us to see, people would be DEMANDING an investigation to confirm or disprove.

Matt Simmons had some sort of agenda and is trying to take advantage of this disaster in some way. During this disaster he has made numerous claims that are dubious at best such as the one in June that BP will be have to file for Chapter 11 within a month despite them being able to post a $20B claim fund. For whatever reason, he wants to smear BP. It is curious that each time he comes up with his various claims, BPs stock drops.

@MenaceFan That Chapter 11 bankruptcy "claim" as you call it, may have been based on a false belief that BP would actually be forced to pay for all of the damage that they have caused, which they clearly have not been made to do.
Again, just because they have been let of the hook to a certain extent, doesn't mean that Simmons was wrong, when this disaster COULD have bankrupted them if they had been forced to pay for what they have done.
Ultimately, they could be, but probably won't be.

Just these interviews where he makes huge claims. I guess nobody can get in there to find the huge hole he's talking about. I'm not picking on you, just pointing out the facts as I see them. Simmons mentioined over a week ago that the research vessel "Thomas Jefferson" had discovered a hole several miles from the rig, but hadn't pinpointed the exact location. Very early on in the piece, BP admitted there were 3 breaches. This is the second one capped so that leaves one other somewhere.
Like any sane person, I hope Simmons is dead wrong. If someone has concrete evidence that he is wrong, show it now.

Having seen nature shows, like Planet Earth, one knows the way sea particles and such move under water and can be affected by sea life, currents, and also any humans or robotics. The ROV could have been have too close and blowing sands up. The point later in the video, that the description cites, looks like sea life to me. the film quality just doesn't allow it to be clear what we are seeing. However, not a a bad find.

At this time,the cap pressure is at 6,700 psi and rising so it looks like they may not have a serious casing problem(so far).
If there were serious sea floor eruptions,we would never hear about it since neither we,nor the media can get that far down.

@MenaceFan It's simple math. Official estimates of the flow rate (which I'm sure can be calculated pretty accurately so why all the "guesses") were from 20,000 - 120,000 PSI. The cap they now have on is holding 9,000 PSI. Where's the rest? Unless you discount previous estimates. But then you have to discount all of the previous announcements. And present and future.
I'm just saying there's a major discrepency in the official story. That makes it as suspect as anyone elses story tome.

In the game, which bears an official BP logo, four players race to explore for oil, build rigs and lay pipelines. The first to reach $120 million wins. But you have to watch out for the hazard cards like, "Blow-out! Rig damaged. Oil slick cleanup costs. Pay $1 million."

BP controls the crime scene. The Russians were allowed in with their MIRs, but on condition of secrecy. They contracted Congressmen, who have leaked what they found, so what Simmons is doing is telling you sheep what he knows.
BP is in full cover up mode, with the announcement last week of the capped, abandoned wells that are unmonitored in the Gulf. They are going to try to create a plausible denial for what is coming from the sea floor.
God help the people of the Gulf.

um,...."find the open hole so we know where it is.".... Is this guy serious? If there's another hole I'd find it before I start spewing stuff like this. He's got no credibility otherwise.

IF THEY HAVEN'T FOUND IT,HOW DOES HE KNOW IT EXISTS?
Why can't these boneheads doing these interviews do a simple,logical follow up question like that?

Not once has Simmons backed up this claim of a "120,ooo barrel leak several miles away.
He keeps saying this and the cowardly media keep allowing him to say it without challenging him about sources.

I believe him and know this is just to prop up the stock so they can finish unloading paper and of course deceive the public for OH so many reasons.
Many call me dr doom , for trying to get people to take this seriously
