  • Mr. Kindgren, please don't let a few sour apples upset you. You are great! Your channel on You-tube is phenomenal. So many great songs, played great and recorded great. Please think of this. You have actually left a legacy, a path to follow, a height to aspire to. If any of those negative people died today would they leave as much? A great contribution to the world of music and as far as we know it will be here forever.

  • i like your little mistake, it just fits..

  • Thank you for the beautiful music. Of course some will be jealous, that's normal. Nevermind and play on, please!

  • Thank you. Appreciated. I don't understand why people are jealous. It's MUSIC! No one should be jealous of that! And i am not even playing well here... weird. Anyhow, I feel more sadness than anything else. And joy that they think I play like Julian bream! YAY!

    Merry Christmas.

    Per-Olov

  • @AndanteLargo I agree, you're helping to keep Bream's romanticised style alive.

    Bravo!

  • Hi there my friend. Please elaborate on this. I am playing this as it is. With errors and all! If it was a fraud, why would i keep the mistakes. And please be sure what you say before you do! i would love to hear why you think I am not playing this.

    Merry Christmas.

    Per-Olov

  • Well all I can say is play something else. Prove me and all the other doubters wrong. Play something that doesn't sound like Julian Bream in a studio. Then we will decide.

Thank You and have a Merry Christmas yourself.

    Howard M.

  • Dear Howard

This is my arrangement. You can order it at my Web shop. It has nothing to do with Julian Bream. I play more than 250 pieces on YT. Are you saying I am not playing those? So why should I play something else...? I have over 50.000 subscribers and you are probably the only one that doubt my honesty. There is nothing I can do about that. I suggest you don't listen to me anymore. But please stop saying I am a fake when I provide my performances for free...

    All the best,

    Per-Olov Kindgren

  • @greenguitarist1962 You are joking, right? It is obviously not a studio recording as you can hear by the couple buzzes (though it is a beautiful performance). Furthermore, Per-Olov has his own arrangement of this for sale which you can compare to the others and it's not the same. I sure hope you are joking or else it is you who is the joke. Have you seen his other hundreds of videos, too? He has some amazing arrangements and some original songs too!

  • this is such a nice piece!

  • Hey! i love this version, i find it's REALLY good despite the tiny error... is it your own transcription ?

  • Best player on youtube, no doubt. Check out his version of Air on a G string.

  • This is really lovely.

  • I've heard this before, but this is BETTER. Flowing. Thanks.

  • Absolutely beautiful! You play all my favorite stuff. I hadn't heard this since life on the road, somewhere in West Virginia, which this piece always reminds me of. Thank you!

  • Bravo! This looks fiendishly difficult yet it sounds so lyrical..

I imagine it is a joy to play...I love the arrangement.....

What a Jovial intro...Albeniz must have been in fine mood when writing this piece.

Thanks for sharing Per-Olov...I have listened to quite a few of your uploads now and I now you are giving much pleasure to many people with your music...

    Well done.

  • ok i call bs. the accoustics in that room do not look good enough to have that good of a tone quality. i dont care how good that guitar is, you can make it sounds that good without a recording studio or some other place that has great accoustics and a really good microphone. no guitar will sounds like that in a living room with no audio enhancements such as a microphone.

  • What is that guitar? It sounds incredible. Not bad pickin either...

  • Great sounding guitar. Sounds like a concert grade. Is it?

  • Wow dude ur left arm is working fine. Beautiful performance of a great piece.

  • I like this music

  • Yes I agree with your comment, you have been playing easy tunes lately....but If I may say they are beautiful melodic music.

    Marcelo

  • Beautiful as always P-O. Love your work and your performances..listen to you every now and then; A lot of really good music! Thank you so much for your effort & sharing.

    /Richard (Nora)

  • Sounds really awesome, I am trying to play this now(at a much slower speed :), but have trouble when the 16th note is played against/in between the triplet, any advice or tips on that?

  • Interesting comments so far!

Beautiful version of Cadiz, much closer to Bream`s than Barrueco`s. Sweet tone, lovely phrasing. Of course he`s playing it, mistakes and all! Well played mate.. It`s amazing how many differing interpretations/transcriptions of this piece there are.. check out out Maria Esther Guzman on Spotify who plays it beautifully in the key of D (the originals in Db). Well done..

  • I'm doing a dissertaion on guitar transcriptions of Albeniz's pieces at the moment and i've noticed many people playing Barreuco's editions not realising that there are wrong notes in them and he has also edited quite a lot of things out which can easily be played. Anyone thinking of playing this music on guitar should consult the piano score. Great performance by the way.

  • i dunno ... looking at the video i think its Manuel !

  • Beautiful!

  • Thanks for the leaving the mistake in Dude - shows that you're only human after all!

Your sound is extraordinarily pure, how'd you get the melodies to ring so clear?

  • wow i thought that this song was remake of Serenata Espanola hahaha

  • Hi there,

:-) I wish I played this as well as Barrueco!! I have to take that as a compliment. Thank you. But I am not, really... The only thing we have in common is that we both play it in A-major. And Barrueco didn't do the errors I made...

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • Sorry, you are much more musical then Barrueco

  • Talking about the error, some guitarist use some little dots on fifth and seventh divisions of the guitar so they can avoid the error you made, personally I don't use them because I think it's convenient to play any guitar now and then (maybe this sounds kind of stupid being a classical guitarist), why don't you give us your opinion?, it would be really interesting, by the way I liked your Cadiz

  • @AndanteLargo excuse me but, you do errors!??????????? then i guess me and evey one in here wish to do the errors you do lol

    Awesome

  • :-) Thank you. Yes, I do errors all the time. I'm human... sometimes I want too mush with the music and then make some stupid mistakes. Don't wish for doing the same... :-)

Thanks for listening to my music... sorry.. errors.

    Per-Olov

  • @AndanteLargo yh i know but i was trying to say was that every one in here including me wanted to play like you,in fact i think your the best because you play with heart and soul not with finguers and pride for playing fast --". Most of people dont know what is music, and most think that playing good and be good is for playing fatser but i dont agree, because to play music its to play with the heart and feel all the sound and know what are we doing not just play the fastest you can to impress.

  • Thanks my friend. I appreciate this because that is exactly what I strive for.

    Thanks!

    Per-Olov

  • @AndanteLargo np mybe some day we will find each other lol stay safe

  • @heysoos412 in my humble opinion, i think you're right. i think there's a different audio track than what was recorded by the camera. i have every confidence that mr. kindgren plays incredibly well, and what ever sound his fingers were producing in this video must have sounded VERY close to what we're hearing (almost to the point that it makes me wonder why replace the audio) but i dont think the sound coming out of that guitar is what we're hearing.

  • @heysoos412 LOL you can hear nail clicks on the fast parts in the beginning. This guy is a good player, but it's not from a CD.

  • @heysoos412

Almost sounds as though you think he's not really playing it?

  • @heysoos412 not at all! and as Per-Olov said , there is one noticeable mistakes and the odd slip. But still by far the best around !!!!

  • Hello Per-Olov,

This is quite fantastic, always been one of my favourite pieces by Albeniz.

Hope you don't mind me doing a video response of the same piece transcribed by our friend Mr. Delcamp

    :)

  • Excellent! You should learn and post Asturias! Cheers!

  • yeah! you're good playing the guitar, i've been watching your other videos. Keep it up.

  • yeahhhhh, a big guitarrist you are very very goooood guitarrist eres de colombia? right???

  • suPERb playing, makes me want to burn my guitar!!5***** greetings and much respect,Bram D., Holland

  • it's very nice :)

  • at 1.50,him wrong?

  • Hi! Yes, I make a terrible mistake there. Sorry!!

    Per-Olov

  • Terrible? nooo,make a mistake is human,you are a great Per-Olov!!

  • Oh, no!! That's impossible! hehe Just joking, anyways, great playing, as always. By the way, for how many time have you been playing guitar?

    Great playing!

  • You really Inspire me!

  • Thank you! That is good to know!

    Per-Olov

  • this seems to be the best version of Cadiz on youtube

    beautiful sound all the way

    cheers !

  • :-)) thanks. Even if i make a mistake?

    Thank you!

    Per-Olov

  • Nice job and song, Thank you.

  • Magnifique !

  • I always love every piece you interpret. But I must tell you something, can I suggest background more in harmony with such elegant and beautiful music? I know you're at home but you could put like a bust, some goya prints...etc...I think you would elevate the viewing to its dignifying state for such poetic music....Congratulations!

  • Desde Australia.! Very nicely played. Jaunty,lively...and a fine sound from your guitarra.I have the music to this "maravilloso" Albeniz transcription. It is harder to hear this great genius' music on the piano-than the guitar. I am enjoying the challenge of this technically tricky piece por guitarra. It will take me the rest of my life-but I am in no hurry! Thanks for playing - and sharing.

  • Desde Argentina, es un placer escucharlo , maestro

  • Why don't you play Asturias?

  • Muy bien de tempo...comprendo qué mucha gente se sienta estimulada a estudiar al escucharte.

  • Thanks for your e-mail. I have referred to your Web-site and found all I was looking for, including the photos of your beautiful guitar...

You have a larger repertoire, but I was wondering if you have ever done Asturias (La Leyenda) by Isaac Albeniz? Will you include it in later works? I am really curious to know how it would adapt to the sonority of your guitar.

Thanks once again for all your hard work.

    Gracias amigo!

    Saludos desde España.

    ;)

  • I really like the sound of your guitar. Is it a John Gilbert?

The way you play is really professional. Do you play for a living? Do you have any recordings?

Incidentally, I love the way you played The Air on G by J.S Bach. Very relaxing and full of feeling...

    Thanks for all you videos.

    Kind regards from Spain :)

  • Hola! Muchas gracias.

No it's a Philippe Jean-Mairet from Switzerland. Please go to my web site for more info and pictures. And also maybe you will find my CD "After Silence2 and my scores there.

    Saludos desde Dinamarca.

    Per-Olov

Gracias. Saludos,

    Per-Olov

  • I feel as though you perhaps were rushing through the mid section a little too fast. The pace seemed off and after you hit the mistake at 1:49 you were pretty much done with the entire song because the timing felt normal but then you speed up and slow down to erratically. Perhaps it was a combination of your injury and frustration? At any rate, I felt that you could have paced this song better and that you are more than capable of playing the song with much more skill than you did here.

  • Hi1 I agree with you totally. This isn't one I am proud of. I don't want to "blaim" the pain I had in my left arm but it affected me.

    Thanks for your comment!

    Per-Olov

  • Your tone is amazing peo, in all your pieces, if you ever come to England I will definately see you.

Best bit of cadiz on guitar for me is always the little bit in C, 1:00 - 1:08, love the way the open G rings lol.

  • Mr Kindgren,

Another superb performance. I personally love the emotion and expression you put into your playing.

Absolutely First Class. Anyone reading this should watch Mr Kindgren's other youtube videos especially his arrangement of Schindler's List.

    Thank you!

    Jason

  • Fantastic!

  • I find it perfect, faultless, very moving

  • Hi!! Thanks a lot!

    Appreciated.

    Per-Olov

  • Sound good to me. A fine player I think.

  • :-) thnaks my friend!

    I am honored.

    Per-Olov

  • For me the Spanish music created by Albeniz were not expressed in the softer tones created by the northern european playing of this piece.

  • I am sorry you don't like my playing. I'll try to be more Spanish in the future.

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • I did not mean to imply offence. Please accept my sincere apology if I did.

  • Hi! Off course I do! I respect that you spoke you opinion. I like that. I truly think we have the right to think (and say) what we mean as long as we are not rude. And I don't think you were.

    Thank you for tellign me.

    All the best.

    Per-Olov

  • Hi Jim,

    I play a Philippe Jean-Mairet from Switzerland (1987) I have a very good guitar.... :-)

I record with an AKG C460 B mic. and in the videoediting software I add some reverb to give it more "space".

    Per-Olov

  • In the picture you look like Marcello Lippi but in the video you look like Bill Gates :0)

  • Are you Diego de la Vega? :)

  • Hey! Didn't I reply to this one? I know I did! Where is it?

    No, I am El Mariachi.

    Jag älskar dig!

    Pelle

  • OMG this is quite a hard piece..it's amazing...you're soo good :| damn sounds so beautiful...

still you make it look so easy...6/5 stars!

  • Brilliant, I really enjoyed listening to you playing this wonderful composition. Your arrangement is exellent and I wondered if your transcript is avaialble?

  • Amazing and inspiring for a serious hobbyist like me! I'm learning to play this piece right now, but it's fra from there yet. Nice to see it interpreted so well and caringly. Good job!

  • Thanks a lot! This is difficult if you are an hobbyist! How is it going?

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • what's the name of the object he has on his thigh?

  • Hi!

It's GITANO. Google it. Great invention. Light, easy and inexpensive.

  • Man...you belong among the best. I listened to your own compositions and i think they are of a high standard and very beautiful to listen to. Bravo...will you ever give a concert in The Netherlands?

  • Thank you. I am honored!

I am actually going to play this (Cadiz) in France next month but I have no plans for The Nederlands... yet! But who knows...?

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • Wow what a beautiful interpritation, a really difficult piece and you pulled it off so well!

  • you gotta see his others videos ... hi is the best

  • hey man, good job...I love this sound and you made it sound great!

  • Mr.Andante Largo,as I allways say,the perfection of time and measures on every note makes the difference on a good guitar player.I have that piece by Andres Segovia, but i still like the sweetnes of your style.

  • Thanks a lot! Appreciated! WOW. you prefer me for Segovia. You made my day! .-) Thanks!

    Kindly,

  • Hello, I have watched a few of your videos, and I am very impressed - I love playing guitar, and am hoping to save up and buy a very nice classical. I was wondering what you use, and also how you get the amplification for your videos?

    Thanks for the wonderful music!

  • Thank you! I am honored!

I don't use an amplification. Only very good microphones for the recording.

    Thanks for listening!

    Per-Olov

  • brava senor !!!!

  • Muchas gracias!

  • I think you played this piece great. I consider that in order to play a piece well, one must truly understand music and that means one should have knowledge of music theory. That's why I disagree with the fact that people can learn to play the guitar without learning and understanding music theory. That's why a teacher is needed :). Taking "virtual lessons" I think won't do the trick. Do you agree? :)

  • Absolutely!! 100%. The understanding of harmony/theory and rhythmical patterns and genres, is vital to be able to play music well. Thank you!

    Per

  • i never had a teacher..but if i whant to play this song ofcourse i will not play whatever i whant..guess what i will do..i will studi the han's position of andantelargo and then i will practice with this song on until i will succede to play exactly like him...i guess andantelargo hav onace time a teachear an learn from him this song and now i will learne from andantelargo..is the same thing :))))

  • Every guitarists who want to hear and learn how to performe the music best and how to play the guitar pure and clear MUST watch and listen to this performance.

I really congratulate you for your performance .Why have I not known you untill now

    Regards

  • Thank you! Appreciated! Well, I have concentrating on teaching classical guitar. Now I want to play more concerts. Hope you will continue listening to me.

    Kind regards,

    Per

  • I wish I could have learnt to play from yourselves. And also I wish you can give conserts in Turkey. You have great range of repertoire. Please believe me that you play as wonderfull as the ones who are known as genius of guitar such as Bream,J.Williams..etc.

I begin to listen to your all records in youtube.I hope it will help my understanding in music.

    THANKS,Nezihi

  • THANKS,Nezihi! I hope I will be invited to play in Turkey too! That would be nice to come and perform ther.

Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you! Appreciated. i am honored you like my version,

    Kindly,

  • Hey! Awesome piece, i love your right hand technique, wish mine was as good :( Why did your arm hurt? Did u break it? :O Btw, what guitar are you playing? And which strings do you use? :) thanks!

  • Thank oyu. I am happy you like it.

My arm hurted because I was playing 7 hours a day and that was too much for it. it's OK now. :-)

    I play a Philippe Jean-Mairet and on her I use d'daddario pro arté EJ46

    Good luck with your playing.

    Per

  • Hehe, hardcore 7 hours a day ;) I use the same strings as you lol :p now i just need to get the same guitar to get that sound of yours ;)

  • if i ever saw you in the street i would probably ask you to play this song lol

  • If we meet, I will! promise!

    Kindly,

    Per

  • Wonderful performance as always!! Thank you.

  • excellent peo this is a testing piece but you glide through it so nicely.... one of your best i think .bilstew

  • Thank you. Appreciated. i remember I have great pain in my arm while recording this. it's gone now! :-)

    Kindly,

    per

  • I'm playing 1 hour +- a day and some times i get tired, so i can't imagine playing 7 hours a day! Is that possible? What's your secret?

A fan of yours: musicadict. Bravo

  • LOL... I don't play 7 hours a day anymore. My arm couldn't handle that :-( But 3-4 hours shouldn't be a broblem. It's very important you realx in all your body and arms!! All the time. And get up from the chair every 20 min. and walk around the chair!

    Good luck!

    Per

  • beautifully played....great technique.

  • Thank you very much!

    Per

  • Indeed it sounds better on guitar than on a

piano since it is very spanish in style. In

this video your exquisite technique shows!

When I was very young (in high school) I

used to play Asturias like a maniac. Now I

prefer the expressive rather than the

show-off pieces. Thanks for sharing this

    beautiful piece. - Athan

  • Dear Athan,

Thank you for listening to me today. (and all the other days) Albeniz once said he prefered Asturias on the guitar before the piano. I don't think he said this about Cadiz but it's very idiomatic for the guitar... I had really great pain in my arm while recording this.

    Thanks.

  • In fact it was about "Cadiz" that he made his famous remark. The piece was then known as "Serenata". Asturias wasn't set to the guitar until much later; Severino Garcia was first and Albeniz was dead before then.

  • WOW! Thanks a lot! It's a comment I heard John Williams say once. He must have been wrong then. I stand corrected... :-)

    Kindly,

    Per

  • It's a common "guitar legend" that Tarrega arranged Asturias; Pepe Romero even credits Tarrega on his LP of it. Tarrega actually only did Serenata, Granada, Sevilla, and (I think) Torre Bermeja. The others are by Llobet, Fortea, Segovia.

  • OMG! Thank you! It's very beautiful!

  • Thank you!! I am glad you like it!

    Kindly,

    Per

Helst klassisk gitarr! :-)

Kul om du tycker om mitt spel. Fortsätt lyssna,

    Peo

  • Nice interpretaion. Er du Norske?

  • Thanks. No I'm Swedish but live in Copenhagen, Denmark.

    Glad you like it!

    Kindly,

    Per

  • I have always loved your playing and interpretation in all of your videos peo. I hope that some day I can play as well as you. That was beutiful

  • Thank you KTRAY! I am honoured by your words.

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • Gorgeous music, Peo. What guitar are you using?

  • I have a philippe Jean-Mairet. See peo-kindgren(com) for more info and pictures!

    Kind regards,

    Per-Olov

  • Peo,

You're playing is wonderful and technique is superb. I have made a playlist of your videos here at work and they keep me company all day long. I just started the classical guitar myself after years of playing the violin and I have to admit that your work has given me much inspiration. Many thanks, Peo.

    Chris

  • Thank you Chis for telling me. It's good to know I can inspire. It must be difficult to go from Violin to guitar!! WOW! Keep playing!!

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • I too am a violin player and I started learning guitar on my own two years ago. Guitar is a wonderful instrument but the right hand is very hard to master. Im doing the left hand part without problem, thanks to my violin training, but lagging in finger picking...struggling with sevillina right now...

  • First and foremost, great musician! This is the first visible (I mean audible) quality, independent of the technique. Secondly, wonderful sound quality, throughout. Last but not least, superb right hand position... as the fingers were caressing the strings.

I think you have almost a moral obligation to teach and pass on this art to future generations. Looking forward for the CD. With so many admirers I anticipate it will be sold out quickly.

  • First and foremost: Thank you! Secondly: I am happy you like my playing. And I actually post many videos to show that the classical guitar is not only technique but also about expressing emotions and feelings. Music above all! That is my aim and my way of "passing this futher". I hope many young guitarists listen and "learn" from an old man... :)

    Kind regards,

    Peo

  • "Old man"! :-) All right, Grampa.

  • LOL

  • I heard you are making a cd. When that is done can I get it here in holland? I hope so

  • Thanks. It will be sold through Amazon(com) and DBaby(om) so I guess you will be able to get it in Holland too! Thanks for your interest!

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • Viva Peo!

  • LOL!

    VIVA la Musica! :)))

    Thanks!

    Peo

  • Thanks a lot for listening. And taking your time to comment!

    Peo

  • 1'49... LOL

Terrific music to play, eh? Just for masters of the guitar!!!

You made it quite perfectly, and you won... You won?

Well, you won my consideration! ;-)

I love that moment, at 1'49...Hahaha... Peo lost, that's funny, indeed!!! 5 stars

  • Damn! You heard it!! LOL Well... I'm only human... lots of mistakes... also in life!

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • I'll definetly be listening - and practising :-)

  • Nice! Good practicing. :-)

    Peo

  • Your sound is amazing and inspiring - keep up the good work :-)

  • Thanks senderama1 I will, if you keep listening...! :)

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • One of the best interpretation I have ever heard Peo,you have a intense feeling on this piece like many others!

  • WOW! Thank a lot! Apprecated. I'm bowing in the dust by your words!

    Peo
